An organized crime group stole a shipment of 33 tons of gold and silver in the municipality of Acatlán de Juárez.

In a statement, the mining company Grupo Bacis reported that the robbery occurred on July 4th, on a highway near Guadalajara, as the trailer was heading to the Port of Manzanillo.

According to the company, the tractor-trailer with registration number 104 was intercepted by two white vehicles with tinted windows. Their occupants neutralized the security guards and subdued the driver, who was detained for at least an hour and a half.

"A group of organized criminals aboard two vehicles robbed a truck belonging to Fletes Durango S.A. de C.V., which was loaded with at least 33 tons of gold and silver concentrate belonging to Grupo Minero Bacis, bound for the port of Manzanillo."

After being released, the victims notified the National Guard. The workers were unharmed, and the empty trailer was located shortly afterward. To date, there are no leads on the whereabouts of the merchandise. The State Attorney General's Office reported that it has not received any complaints regarding the theft.

    6. You think this is immoral behaviour that is "typical" of CJNG?
One thing people on here don't seem to understand is the mining, the control of mineral rich areas, the extortion by groups that allow organised crime to take over entire states and make alliances is what sways the balance of power. Only then do you get the 50 truck convoy that people pretend was an "invasion".

    2. Nope, it was widely covered by the press. What is missing is news about he progress of the investigation!

  3. If my calculations are correct, thats approximately $2,562,450,000 dollars. Who ever pulled this heist and if they get away with it, will never have to worry about their wealth depreciating. 2 and a half billion dollars of gold will only increase in value as time passes.

    1. Gold & Silver. Probably more silver

    2. How many of those 33 tons were gold?

    3. Must be gold and silver ORE, mineral de oro, not pure metal.
Use your head, common sense is your friend!

    4. It was not 33t of pure gold. We do not know how much gold and silver it was and more important, it was concentrate. That can be everything from 10%-99%. And to be honest, they would not transport anything with that high value without a bunch of soldiers.

    5. It wasnt pure gold bro they still need to extract that shit probably way less than that...

    6. Gold and silver they said, didnt give a weight for each and if was worth billions i doubt the security would have been that light.. simple logic

    7. Sorry, charlie, but according to my calculations, 33 tons of gold ore contain maybe one pound of pure gold after smelting process.
Less than $40,000 worth, but ALMOST 2 and a half billion dollars worth!

    8. Your calculations are off, only calculated for gold. Full price won't be paid either.

    10. @12.41. Your calculations sound a bit like the DEA busting kilos in Guatemala and pretending it was worth what it would have fetched in New York if it'd been cut, given out and sold on the street.
If they were serious it would have gone into a complicated trading system, not sold for money, and if they were amateurs they'd have got a flat fee, if they were incredibly lucky. Most likely they'd have been found in a ditch and the people who put them there would have sold it back to the owner.

  5. This is CJNG. They have to make up for all the losses in the past few months. All of the U.S sanctions against them and businesses they lost were taking a toll. How will they turn all this gold and silver to cash? Will they just hit up all of the pawn shops they find? It will take years for this to happen. I am back from my vacation with Buffy and ready to post again. My Nuff Nation missed me. Nuff Said!!!

    2. @12.07. You posted at 12.07. If you times 12 with 7 you get 84, which was the year that the crack epidemic caused serious problems, that led to the Mexicans taking over. And if you add 12 and 7 and 84 it adds up to 203, but if you add a nought and an extra 3 it's.....2006, the year Calderon launched the war in Michoacan!
Damn, a simpleton who says "Jooish" almost cracked the Drug War Code.

  7. Max capacity for a tractor trailer is 80000pounds
The trailer itself is about 35000 plus the 66000 pounds of gold and silver is a total of 101000 pounds which is way over the limit something doesn’t add up

    1. IT WAS A BIG LOAD OF GOLD ORE, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS....
      DIRT!

      Delete
    2. Gold ore is 99.5% dirt, 0.5% gold.
Stealing 33 tons of it is a good score, but how are they gonna process it, in the kitchen blender?
We assume the thieves are just holding it hostage hoping the mining company will buy it back for a few bucks.
Or most likely they dumped the ore and just wanted the dump trucks, or whatever you call the ore carriers, bring 'em straight to the chop shop, or get phony paperwork for them and sell them to another mining company!

    2. These kids are naive. Ghadaffi had 58 tons of pure gold. Along with his continental railroad, independent money was reasons for his killing. This load was not pure.

The powers that be don't appreciate what you call "independent money"..
You have to have a Central Banking System or you're toast.
Ghadaffi's Libya didn't have one, so the gringos bombed him.
The Taliban, on the other hand, have a CBS, so they're good to go, they don't get bombed.

  25. You'd think there would be trackers on most trucks today. Sounds like an inside job with a lot people in on it - mining company might get insurance payout. Many cartels got into the mining business years so they know how it works and what it's worth.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Always an inside job with truck hi-jackings. Always. Especially since they werent hurt. Had they not know anything they'd of been killed.
