The following is a direct translation of an article written and published by Riodoce on November 1, 2022.
The monument [stone cross] to Edgar Guzman, son of Joaquin Guzman Loera, was decorated on Tuesday [November 1, 2022], just a few hours before the Day of the Dead.
Located in the parking lot of a commercial plaza in the 6 de Enero neighborhood, in the city of Culiacán, the space honoring the drug trafficker's son was decorated with red and white flowers.
Images of the decorated monument that are being shared on social media depict the stone cross that was erected in memory of Edgar Guzman surrounded by a structure adorned with flowers.
The last time the location was decorated with hundreds of red and white roses was on May 30, his birthday. It has become customary for this place to be decorated on holidays such as Christmas.

Edgar Guzman was murdered on May 8, 2008. The drug trafficker's son lost his life after being attacked by armed men while he was in a shopping center in the Tres Ríos Urban Development. His widow, Frida Muñoz Román, identified the body.
The cause of the attack was attributed to the struggle between the Sinaloa Cartel and the Beltrán Leyva Cartel.
