PRI Political Party Will Seek To Facilitate The Carrying Of Firearms In Mexico

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Alejandro Moreno indicated that in the next few days they will present this proposal and others, as soon as they finish analyzing them with experts.

PRI will seek to facilitate the carrying of firearms in Mexico for personal defense

Alejandro Moreno, national leader of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, announced that the PRI will propose a reform to the Federal Weapons Law to make it easier for families to have access to a larger caliber firearm to defend themselves from insecurity in their homes and businesses.

“We are going to propose amending the Firearms Law, so that Mexican families can more easily access larger-caliber weapons so that they can protect their homes, their businesses, and their lives.”

At a press conference, Moreno clarified that they will seek to "modify the regulatory and legal framework of those who can carry a firearm and comply with the protocols", so that there is real access to carrying a firearm, but he pointed out that it should be " regulated and based on the law so as not to have a lack of control”.

“It is about that, in the absence of a State, and that there is no State to take care of Mexicans, criminals know that people are going to be able to defend themselves,” he explained.

Moreno announced that the Institutional Revolutionary Party will promote a law so that members of the Armed Forces, the National Guard and the Navy can take their weapons to their homes, to defend themselves and deal with organized crime.

“We know that many soldiers are later kidnapped and killed on their off days. They wait for them, follow them and capture them for doing their job. So we want them to be permanently armed, as is the case in most of the world's armed forces and police forces. To take care of them and that they can take care of us.”

The federal deputy also argued that in the absence of a State that takes care of Mexicans, "let the criminals know that the people are going to defend themselves."

In addition, the PRI will propose the training of police forces, invest more resources in security, redesign the Mexico Platform, promote a policy of zero tolerance for organized crime, and enter the digital age and modernization, along with international organizations and cooperation agencies in this matter.

"The Morena government does not have any security plan, nor is it interested in doing so, so the violence that exists in the country is the main concern of Mexicans," he stressed.

Alejandro Moreno indicated that in the next few days they will present these proposals, as soon as they finish analyzing and detailing them with experts in the field.

  1. Pure BS propaganda, bullshit lies, about 3 years ago it was brought up to Congress, to let citizens carry 38s for home protection and that too never went no where 3 year later and homicides continue.

    1. Isn't 38special a legally permitted caliber since it's a less ballistically powerful round because of it's slow speed and not many gun manufacturers are interested in producing more modern firearms that use this caliber?
This YT channel talks extensively about firearms in México: Armas de fuego a 360 en México con Tom Simeo Chaney

    3. Yes the Congress are bozos, something good for it's citizens never went thru, if it did pass, then only 38 guns allowed for it's citizens, all the while cartel members carry Ar-15s, ak-47s. And if a citizen gets caught with no money to bribe, they throw him in prison, all the while a cartel members gets caught with high power weapons, drugs, and has murdered no problem, pay the bribes, charges dropped out in 3 days.

    4. @7:00pm Not the .38 Special, but pistols chambered for the .38 Super seem to be more popular in Mexico.

    5. Yes 38super is very popular but it's prohibited, some exceptions are permitted when the firearm has some historical value, so if someone can legally purchase a handgun they can choose from a 380 for semiautomatic or 38special for revolver for home protection.

  2. PRI looks like it is concerned about the average persons safety since ALMOs methods are not curbing violence. Good politocal move but who knows if it will generate votes. Lot of bad PRI history to overcome.

    1. Concerned? Funny because when they had the power the only thing they were concerned with was lining their pockets. they were the ones who allowed cartels to gain so much power to begin with. Mexico was just as if not even more violent before amlo took power.

  5. I HOPE THIS HAPPENS but im not optimistic, its just like in the usa, one side pretends to try to do the right thing when they are out of power, when they get in, they never do anything. the 2 party system is a sham, and its the rich who fund election campaigns, so its the rich who reap the benifits for said person being in power. sadly time is almost up for this game and the people to learn it. this great reset shit is going to enslave humanity for life, this winter there will be worldwide famins. people need to rise up, in every coutry in you want freedom, remove the criminals and power and start over, use the lessons learned to try to make a better country this time. like the usa corruption is too deep to reform, only way is to start from scratch and sadly that means many will likely need to be permanently removed

  7. Probably all talk no action, but keeping my fingers crossed, even a .38 special revolver will make someone think twice about attacking you.
