SAN ANTONIO — Sad numbers are
painting a grim picture as to the number of children who are being charged with
murder in Mexico. Children who are often lured to serve at the cartel's whim
This video went viral last year
in December, captured at an intersection in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. The
murderer, an underage boy who carried out this hit in the middle of the day
with numerous eyewitnesses around. Three months later he was captured.
According to the state of
Chihuahua, he is just one of thousands of kids who commit murder for organized
crime.
During a sit down interview with
a Sicario in Chihuahua, he explained why he started killing at the age of 14,
"Young kids, 14, 15 years old who kill just for meth. They kill for food.
Money for food. My dad was a drunk and there was no money for food, so I had to
go out and make money."
Last year the Attorney General's
office says over 1,800 children were prosecuted in Mexico for murder. This
young man is one of 298 in Chihuahua alone being prosecuted for murder. As Fox
San Antonio showed you last month, the cartels recruit young children by
providing basic necessities. According to former Homeland Security agent in
charge Ari Jimenez, the pandemic has created a new recruitment opportunity for
the cartels.
"They are targeting the
young children growing up in challenge communities. They don't have anything to
look forward to, but the cartel is there to tell them - I am here for you and
you can come work for me," said Jimenez.
The states with the highest number
of children prosecuted for murder are Sonora, Jalisco, Chihuahua and the state
of Mexico. All states where cartels are strong. In Sonora, the Sinaloa cartel
is strong. In Jalisco, CJNG or Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación, which as you
see in this video was giving food to the poor to help during the pandemic. In
Chihuahua, the Juarez cartel and in the state of Mexico a mixture of several
cartels.

I understand the poor uneducated teen that goes out and commits murder for the cartel; they don’t have any viable opportunities for economic advancement. However, this young man was filmed laughing with glee as he and his buddies sped away from that murder—that type of remorseless act doesn’t come from poverty, it comes from enjoyment of the murder. No estamos tontos.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a phycologist like you sir, but maybe that was just nervous laughter and kids feeding off of each other for support and to help them feel a part of a group. Just saying !
Delete"This pandemic created an opportunity for these kids to commit murder" narrative is false.
ReplyDeleteEconomic reasons are why many fall victims to criminal activities. Poverty stricken areas often have a much higher rate of crime. This along with the lack of social services from government agencies to provide assistance to those unfortunate.
Many would also say,"a product of one's society".
10:34 young people will singer and say who is their employer, they get hired because society forgives minors for everything, and they know it, but their employers know it even better, i'd suggest death penalty for heads of these teenager's gangs, won't be hard to catch them and make a case un a courthouse but beware of "montajes" Luke those of Genarco Garciaa luna, luis Cárdenas palomino, carlos Loret de molah, López doriga, la señora Isabel Miranda de Wallace AND omar garcia harfuch whose "montajes" in the clases against Union Tepito, el ojos, el lunares, and his case for his own impunity are getting REAL OLD...
ReplyDeleteWith permission may I recommend that young people 12 and under be referred to as "Children" while 12 - 18 years old be titled "youths". How would you describe Chamacos? Again I will ask. Until FUERO is eliminated hope and lessons are futile.
ReplyDeletei understand that those kids have a hard life, but i don't think thats a valid excuse for becoming a murderer
ReplyDeleteIn this case, you have to live a hard life to understand
DeleteThey are TEENAGERS not children. Stop exaggerating people!
ReplyDeleteBorder towns are the WORSE in Mexico, full of DRUGS, poverty and CARTELS..
ReplyDelete326 yeah it’s kinds like the excuse Americans made me do it because they buy drugs. Méxicoz excuses for their problems aré getting old. Mexico corruption is because of America or Americans buy drugs so it is ok to behead and dismember other Mexicans. I’m thinking Mexican youth look up to and admire the lifestyle of narco culture and want to be involved in it.
ReplyDeleteOh shut up with that America's fault... America ha dalwaus fine drugs but the homicide rate wasn't what it is now. This all lies on Mexico.
DeleteDamn what the hell did I type.
DeleteAmérica has always had drugs...
