Official report is 2 killed, other reports as much as 6

An ambush by alleged assassins on a convoy of the National Guard (GN) and the Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico (SEMAR), left two soldiers dead and several more wounded, in the municipality of Chinicuila.

The attack occurred around 6:00 p.m. yesterday, in an area located between the towns of Las Trojes (Chinicuila) and El Ahuijullo (Coalcomán).

At this site, alleged hitmen with assault rifles ambushed the convoy of sailors and national guards, instantly murdering a SEMAR master and a GN cash officer.

In the attack, three more officers were wounded, including a female member of the GN. Unofficially, a hitman has been arrested.
From the first investigations it appears that the attack was apparently carried out by hitmen from the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), a criminal organization that, in the limits of Michoacán, Jalisco and Colima, maintains a war with the Tepalcatepec Cartel, led by Juan José Farías Álvarez "El Abuelo".
