Sinaloan Woman Arrested w 5 Pounds of Heroin in Northern California

Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: LOCO / ETS
A Woman From Mexico Arrested With Five Pounds of Suspected Heroin;  She was also Cited for Violating Shelter-in-Place Order    Press release from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force:

On May 12th, 2020, special agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF), with the assistance from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a traffic stop on Maple Hills Road just off Highway 101, Miranda.

Agents had obtained a search warrant for a vehicle being driven by Rafaela Castillo-Ramirez , age 41 from Sinaloa, Mexico. Through their multi-week investigation, agents learned that Castillo-Ramirez is employed by a Drug Trafficking Organization operating out of Bakersfield, California.

Castillo-Ramirez was detained without incident. Agents searched her vehicle and located a false compartment under the rear seat. Inside the false compartment agents located approximately 5 pounds of suspected heroin packaged for sales. HCDTF estimates the local street value of this substance to exceed $224,000.

Around 5:15 p.m., the Humboldt County Drug Task Force pulled over a vehicle near the onramp to Hwy 101 from the Miranda bridge. According to Humboldt County Sheriff Sergeant Jesse Taylor, the vehicle contained about five pounds of heroin.
Castillo-Ramirez was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the following charges:

H&S 11351, 11352 Possession and transportation of controlled substances for sales
H& 11366.8(a) False compartment within motor vehicle
H&S 120275 Violation of shelter in place order
Agents also obtained a bail enhancement pursuant to PC 1275 through the Humboldt Superior Court. Castillo-Ramirez’s bail was set at $500,000.
Anyone with information related to this investigation or other narcotics related crimes are encouraged to call the Humboldt County Drug Task Force at 707-267-9976 or the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 707-268-2539.

  1. They went after a girl with some Chiva? How come those white boys dont go after the buyers like nuestra familia? If you're afraid then you don't deserve to wear a badge go work at Walmart.

    1. Like many Latinos, I identify as "WHITE" (and I am old school Chicano, with activist years in La Causa.). My wife and I have huge extended familias that include Anglos via lost of marriges. So many of our in-laws and grandkids, and miscellaneous others look like stereotypical "White" European Anglos.

    2. I was going to ask the same thing! Ive had one in my truck for years where I keep a backup firearm. I don't remember anyone telling me that when I was in class to get my concealed weapons permit.

    3. No, because H&S 11366.8(a) applies to both the hidden/false compartment AND the storage of controlled substances. It does not apply to merely having a hidden/false compartments, nor does it apply to storing items that are not defined as "controlled substances".

  14. I love being clean and hate being strung out. I fucking hate Heroin and what it's done to myself and so many others. Yet, i still find that picture of the black so triggering. Like i know that shit is going to straight up kill me if i go back to it, but for some reason it seems almost irresistible. Crazy how much chemicals rewire your brain to put the substance above all else. Making your brain think you need it to survive.

Just have to keep reminding myself. The struggle is real, but it's definitely worth it!

    3. I loved your honesty about getting triggered by pictures of "shit".... IMO: You are still in consierable danger of relapse and must do what ever it takes to avoid relapse.
At least you recognize this one particular trigger, but as many of us know heroin addicts are virtually swimming in a sea of triggers.... and each of them (singly or in combination) can bring on "dangerous situations" of an overwhelming power. Of course, as you probably know, some of these triggers are in you (interoceptive stimuli) and sometimes hard to identify.... but, must be, if you are to live drug free.
I know you understand what I mean...and I pray for you, amigo.

    5. I feel you buddy. I have never had black tar. Its all powder where I am. Anyways, for the above reason this pic doesn't trigger me but I know the feeling. You know and I know as a recovering heroin addict. We just gotta stay strong and remember, every day we don't use is a victory.

  15. H&S = health and safety codes...

Way too many laws...way too many people... the government isnt supposed to wipe your nalgas is it?. Yes drugs can be very bad, does that mean an over arching police state is good? "Violation of the shelter in place mandate"....man u puppies never had to fight for any of the freedoms u enjoy...cant imagine they can be taken away huh? Keep repeating that double speak jingoism they been teaching ya ala carte "social distancing" "flatten the curve" "shelter in place" like these are your ideas or that they couldnt possibly be inferring something different than what u think. Not condoning this young ladies actions nor saying one should or shouldnt partake in drug use. What im saying and what i implore all of you calling yourselves freedom loving americans to think about is this, should a free american adult be allowed to freely partake in the use of any substance of their choosing so long as its done so responsibly? Answer: Yes they should even if some people out there cant imagine what responsible is doesnt mean we need the big government coming in solving everyones choices. Plz correct me if im wrong and we really have become a nation of children in over grown bodies in need of babysitters. Id really like to know. Coming home to fascism 2.0 has been a rude awakening...dont thank me.. by the looks of things my sacrifice wasnt enough to prevent this perverted attitude torwards the idea of freedom and the constitution for which is mans written proclaimation of his right there in... Thank you for taking the time to read what ive written and to do something about it. The war hasn't ended, if anything its some home full force, thr current battlefield is on for our minds. How is this gonna play out.. well friends?..
