The Institute to Return
the Stolen to the People auction this Sunday more jewels and luxury cars at the
Los Pinos Cultural Complex.
These are 347 lots, of
which 27 are luxury vehicles -7 and the rest jewels seized by the Attorney
General's Office (FGR).
The auction, which
started at 10:40 a.m., is a continuation of yesterday's exercise at the same
headquarters, in which 42 lots were sold for 17 million pesos.
Among the cars that
will be auctioned today, and that are exhibited in Los Pinos, are two Mc Laren,
two Lamborghini, a Ferrari, a Corvette and an Aston Martin AM6 Vantage.
The most expensive
vehicle offered is a Mclaren 720S Coupe Model 2018, whose starting price is 3
million 617 thousand pesos.
According to reports,
these vehicles were seized from the hacker band known as "Bandidos Revolution
Team".
The leader of this
band, identified as Héctor Ortiz Solares, "H-1" or "Bandido
Boss", and several members, were arrested in May by the FGR.
The sum of the starting
prices of the 674 lots offered between yesterday and today, amounts to 150
million pesos, although it is expected to obtain between 40 and 50 million in
both days.
The money obtained from
the so-called "mother of all auctions", which will last about four
hours today, will go to roads in the municipalities of La Yesca, Nayarit, and
Atarjea, Guanajuato.
"Beyond the
figures, the important thing is that the resources obtained will go to
Guanajuato and Nayarit roads, that is the main objective," said Ricardo
Rodríguez, head of the Institute (formerly SAE).
"Obviously the
resources will never be enough, but we must also start with something, obviously
we must put seed for paving and rehabilitation, they are very important
resources that, if they complement each other, can help the objective."
Win win situation for the Mexican government. Sad that this money will go to corrupt officials and not use for something productive.
ReplyDeleteThe family is just buying them back
ReplyDeleteWe will see just how good the quality of those aforementioned Mexican roads becomes.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised many of the other not yet caught ‘corrupt’ authorities did not steal any of the cash, bullions or jewels before the auction.
ReplyDelete@1208: dude these are the spoils left over after the corrupt officials garages and all the fingers of their wives and mistresses are full.
