A Brownsville man
jogging along a levee of the Rio Grande was shot to death and investigators
believe the bullet may have come from Mexico.
The body of Miguel
Angel Valdez Hernandez, 57, was discovered Tuesday afternoon by a farm worker
driving a tractor.
During a news
conference, Cameron County Chief Deputy Gus Reyna said they have no suspects in
the shooting, but are looking for a small white extended cab pickup that was
seen across the river about the same time as the shooting.
Reyna said several
people were seen in the bed of the truck.
“A this time we are
currently looking at all possibilities, including that the shot that killed our
victim may have come from Mexico,” Reyna said. “We have contacted Mexican
authorities to assist us in this investigation.”
Brownsville EMS
responded to the scene, which was on the levee south of Riverside Road, shortly
after 4 p.m. and authorities believe Hernandez died sometime after 3 p.m.
Hernandez lived in the
area and frequently jogged on the levee, sometimes twice a day.
Reyna said Hernandez
received a gunshot wound to his waist area.
Authorities continue to
investigate.
Wrong place at the wrong time!
ReplyDeleteWring place all the time lol.
DeleteI hope "some" Mexican border officers are not shutting up batos in Tejas for the hell of it like some US border patrol like to do...
ReplyDeleteTRUTH!
A distant relative had land in the Rio Grande Valley, just across the border. Bullets would fly and act like nothing happen.
ReplyDeleteI guess the "coyotes" now are armed.
I live on lakeside all my life first killing in many years
ReplyDeleteThere was a few last year, where have you been
Delete8:05 I couldn't find anything---send links or I am calling BS
Delete8:05 aahahaaa! Andele guey.
DeleteWhat a way to go. Not safe at the border.
ReplyDeleteThe wall would of stopped the bullet, just saying
ReplyDeleteAnd I am saying, no wall will be be built there. Lol
DeleteI think the levee in that area is south of the wall
DeleteThough I’m for illegal immigration because of the possible terrorist that can come through the border, it just makes caucasian men more proud to think the US only belongs to them and then they want to treat everyone else like second class citizens.
DeleteMost of that area already has wall. On some parts it's right next to the river, on other it's about a half a mile in. Who knows where exactly he got shot.
DeleteAnd your for illegal immigration so that a terrorist can co e kill innocent people? You know they dont kill only white people rite?
DeleteSorry I just realized I left out the word “against” illegal immigration in my post but either way with or without the border wall nothing will change because the government from every nation is corrupt
Delete3:27 with a "WALL" a lot of Bllions and Billions of dollars will change hands, cash.
Delete--Some report that 1.7 miles of wall got built for 1.5 billion dollars... Stinks of corruption to the highest level
chivis at the wheel and on a roll, much appreciated chivis.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Carlos La Madrid case, BP doesnt have jurisdiction rights in Mexico. So its not their problem again im assuming
ReplyDeletejust proves how dangerous the border patrol job is. this man was just a civilian
ReplyDeletebut border patrol is exposed every day

Many a bullet has crossed the Rio Grande, discharged from either side or the other, sometimes being fired towards each other during an incident or skirmish, most kick up the dust, plop in the river and such. Not this time.
