Tijuana Priest murder Confirmed

From Archbishop Francisco:“With deep pain, I communicate to the priests and deacons of the presbytery of Tijuana, the death of dear father Padre Ícmar Arturo Orta.
Investigations are being carried out, to know the causes of his death. As soon as I have reliable information I will make them public.”

Father Ícmar Arturo Orta, who was reported missing, could have been murdered in Playas de
Rosarito, according to the Attorney General's Office of the State (PGJE).

Through social networks, it was reported that the parish priest of the San Luis Rey de Francia church had not been seen since the night of Thursday, October 11 and that his car had not been found either.

For its part, tonight, through a press release, the PGJE detailed that the Unit of Non-Localized Persons performed search tasks and crossed data on a possible relationship with the finding of a body in Playas de Rosarito.

This is the location of a man's body during the first minutes of Friday, October 12 - hours after he was last seen - inside a vehicle on the street Circuito Alegre corner with Rosarito street in the Rancho Chula Vista neighborhood.

Although the vehicle was in collision, "inside was a person between 40 and 45 years with several gunshot wounds," described the Attorney General.

However, the state agency said that "so far the Public Ministry is awaiting the recognition of the person located, which could be the pastor."

The Archbishop of Tijuana, Francisco Moreno Barrón, sent a message to inform of the death of the parish priest, in which he said that "investigations are being carried out to find out the cause of his death."

  1. Things like this makes me sick but sometimes there's 2 sides to the story. Someone is going down for this, trust me an innocent will take the blame

  4. Mexico continues to be the most dangerous place on earth for priests. for the last decade. in May 3 were killed in one week.

Most often they are killed because they will not comply with requests or orders from cartels. Even sermons against narcos can bring death. One narco in guerrero wanted his child baptised right there that day, the priest advised it was a process, he was killed.

Talking to the press about migrants abuse is another reason. in tamps a narco wanted a statue of santa muerte, the priest refused. He was found dead a few days later. Refusing to pay piso another murder path. quite common now for the last 8 or 9 years that narcos require piso from churches.

the outspoken migrants priest Alejandro Solandine had to leave Mexico because of an attempt on his life.

Priest are caught in the middle of having to do "right" but have a vulnerability to an absence of rule of law.

Mexican priests come from all over the globe. When they are chosen to serve in Mexico they know full well the danger that lies ahead.

    1. Being Theologians of Liberation has caused the murdering of quite a few more priests, by the National guards or the military, or the 4 Nuns killed on El Salvador "to rape and rob them of 14 dollars" because one sister had been badmouthing the US role on the war for cocaine trafficking to the US, ON THE US ITSELF...

  8. Sure doesn't take much to get knocked off in Mexico!Do they do that to their girlfriends too if they voice disagreement with something?Don't think sicarios know the meaning of compromise (only their way or the grave).I see why they never grow up (no pun intended there as they often don't reach adulthood or their potential if you want to call it that).
