Guanajuato Burns: CJNG and Feds = 10 Dead

Translated by Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: Universal

The confrontation of the two groups caused blockades. They confirm that the dead are from the CJNG; among the injured is a federal and a paramedic.

Federal authorities reported that alleged members of the New Generation Jalisco Cartel (CJNG) were killed Friday in a confrontation that lasted about two hours, with elite elements of the Federal Police, in the municipality of Jerécuaro, Guanajuato.

Also, the State Government reported that the final balance of the confrontation was ten dead, presumably of this criminal group, and five more people were injured, including a federal policeman and a paramedic.

According to preliminary information from the security cabinet, the personnel of the Federal Forces Division advanced in official vehicles in the vicinity of the community of Purísima del Zapote, in Jerécuaro , when they observed a van with several individuals on board who when noticing the presence of the authority went into a breach while firing at the uniformed patrol.

The agents initiated a persecution and kilometers ahead they arrived at a point in the mountainous area that presumably was a meeting point of members of a criminal group.

According to authorities, at the point there were around 40 armed individuals, with vests and garments with the acronym CJNG , who were parapeted in several civilian trucks to shoot at the federal agents.

The elements, specialized in confrontations, set in motion an advance strategy and safety on foot, with a circle of security that forced the aggressors to retreat towards a ravine while continuing to fire.

The area is mountain, open field, weeds that reaches more than one meter in height, with some trees, a situation that extended the confrontation for almost two hours.

Along with these events, elements of the Military Police also had another confrontation.

According to the first reports, subsequently and as a response to these events, an assault was registered on a patrol of federal police elements without injuries and another one on a state unit.

The unidentified subjects subsequently burned two vehicles, a trailer and a truck on the free highway to Querétaro.

To the point of confrontation arrived the commissioner General of the Federal Police, Manelich Castilla Craviotto, along with ministerial elements to attest to what happened.

After the armed clash, seven vans were secured, of which four have reports of theft along with seven long weapons, improvised explosive devices and a tube grenade launchers.

  2. Lol these cjng guys with cute little uniforms are 40 deep running from a handful of agents. Mencho isnt as smart as BB says, if he was so smart he would actually train his gunmen instead of making them look so cool. Seems like Marros guys are more trained..10 dead cjng and none from Marros group. Haha Chema ur boys are getting slaughtered like pigs.

    3. So Marro's guys are federal officers??? The article states that the confrontarion was between cjng and federal police, it does not mention Marro at all, Your comment is ironic for someone that's reffering to someone's intelligence.

    8. Are you kidding they are extremely well trained by some of the best mercenaries in the world and that money can buy. Not only do they have elite training but they have elite weapons. Apparently you just take the word of the Mexican government; do a little research they have lied for years about so many things I can’t begin to address it here. I do know for a fact that in the 70’s & 80’s that factions of federals were worked for and were some of the biggest traffickers around. In the old footage showing them burning drugs—it’s well-documented now but back in those days they confiscated and sold drugs and pretended to burn them. My question is how many federal agents were killed as I would think some most certainly were.

  3. This was not in Jerécuaro, it was in Apaseo El Alto...the most violent town in all of Mexico, if not the world...US Citizens should be cautious of travelling here...I could see the burning vehicles from my house.....we can thank bu/*sh/oba/*ma for their fast and furious that brought these weapons here...

    1. Are you saying former President of the United Sates of America Barack Obama is responsible for the violence in Guanajuato? I would challenge you it is the corporations like Shell, Exxon, BP who want the Mexican petroleum resources (and consumers) to line their corporate purses which caused higher petroleum prices and the accompanying violence.

      Don't be hater.

--Carlos Slim Helú is his Godfather, just like he is the Godfather of Genarco Garcia Luna and apparently AMLO Under whose presidency the richest man in the world may get even richer, even if he dies on his Platforma Slim...
Castilla Craviotto replaced enrique francisco galindo ceballos as SLP SSP and as general commissioner of the federal police after the butcher of Tanhuato was unmasked as The Butcher of "Tanhuato, A Crime of State" and had to resign 'quietly'. I suspect Castilla just came to sanitize one more crime scene in Guanajuato...

    1. I remember in 2012-2013 the Zetas were getting taken out in huge numbers by soldiers. Are the tables turning on CJNG ? Did they expand/stretch too far out to keep the urban combat experience they are known for? What they have been loosing in experience and leadership due to inner- fighting ,are they trying to make up in numbers to continue the plaza war which it seems they wanted themselves. Like i said this is what happened with the Zetas back in those days.

  20. @9.09 There has always been and always will be guns and other weapons regardless of Fast and Furious. The “war on drugs” is a waste of time and money. Nothing has been gained and the Americans want more drugs. The government just can’t go to a country or state and think they’ll remove the business of drugs without a solution. If your only solution is to be a part of the dope game to support your family then so be it.

  28. CJNG a bunch of punk kids dressed up like call of duty soldiers. Mencho's time is coming to an end. Pablo escobar, osama bin laden, saddam hussein, mumar gaddafi all had one thing in common. They were enemies of the CIA. Mencho is not a friend of the CIA. So you do the math. Doesn't make sense if you have all the money in the world but your constantly running in fear from one town to the next trying to avoid being killed or captured 24/7.
