El Cuini is transferred to Durango even though he won an amparo against it

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat  material from Universal and Reuters

Abigael González Valencia "El Cuini" was transferred to a federal prison in the state of Durango, despite the fact that last June he obtained an amparo  to prevent his relocation from the Altiplano to another detention center.

According to the amparo trial 723/2018, González Valencia, identified as number two of the Jalisco Cartel New  Generación.  His accusation was that in the federal prison of Durango they kept him segregated, they do not give him medical attention and, he demanded the execution of his transfer .

This transfer occurred despite the fact that last June a federal court had granted him a stay to remain in the Altiplano maximum security prison because the Decentralized Administrative Body for Prevention and Social Readaptation did not justify the relocation.

Judge Fifth District of Amparo in Criminal Matters in Mexico City granted him a flat protection against acts of segregation and lack of medical attention.

For this reason, he ordered Gonzalez Valencia to be notified of the admission of the amparo and the granting of the suspension and requested the actuary [risk management] to confirm the physical status of "El Cuini".

In addition, because the brother-in-law of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes "El Mencho", leader of the CJNG, is in a federal prison in Durango, the judge declined jurisdiction to be in  a District Court in that entity to solve the amparo.

González Valencia was arrested on March 28, 2015 in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco during an operation carried out by federal forces in which three South Americans and another Mexican were also arrested.

According to the Attorney General's Office, he is identified as the leader of Los Cuinis, in charge of the money laundering of the CJNG.

In addition, he is the brother of Rosalinda González Valencia, wife of "El Mencho" who since last June remains incarcerated and  for money laundering for the CJNG through 73 companies.
