CdN executes members of CDS in Durango, they have returned to heat the plaza

Translated by Otis B Fly-Wheel for Borderland Beat from a Epoca Violenta article.

Subject Matter: Cartel de Noreste, Sinaloa Cartel
Recommendation: No prior subject matter knowledge required

The Cartel de Noreste, who used to be Los Zetas in Nuevo Laredo, who were led by Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano, El Z-40 and El Z-42, today have returned to La Laguna in Durango to dispute the plaza with the Sinaloa Cartel.

In La Laguna, people from CdN murdered Gabino Ortiz and Omar Moreno who were Sinaloa Cartel operators in the La Laguna region and operated a horse stud farm, with large betting to money launder. It is on the outskirts of the town of Tlahualillo, Durango, close to Gomez Palacio, Durango.

This is where, in 2007, El Lazca kidnapped the Anti-Kidnapping Police Chief as part of plan to visit extreme violence against the Sinaloa cartel. (Otis: while Epoca Violenta is not a mainstream news outlet, they do have most articles that are run by the main news outlets, and have been shown to be accurate. With the lack of information coming from Coahuila, Epoca is one of the most useful sites for news. This is unusual that CdN would be pushing out into CDS territory. CdN dont have an MO of plaza expansion, preferring to root themselves in Nuevo Laredo among other areas).

The victims were identified outside of a Dennys restaurant according to reports of the Police authorities, the dead person was identified as Gabino Ortiz, who had gunshot wounds in the head, of approximately 40 years of age, originally from Bermejillo, Durango and nephew of the ex president of this community.

The other man attacked was Omar Moreno, in charge of Club Hipico of the city neighborhood of Gomez Palacio, he was transferred immediately to the town hospital with bullet wounds to the head and his condition is reported as serious.

It should be mentioned that Mario Solis, responsible for organizing events, said that when leaving the building, the two men were fired on by a man with a semi automatic pistol.

Agents of the Public Ministry later attended the crime scene to carry out their due diligence and ordered the transfer of the bodies for autopsies.

  2. Didn't knew if cdn was capable of this all I know about them that they're kids ranging from 14-18(they don't live survival) years old wannabe Zetas. IF they really done this than WOW Im really shocked about their capabilities

    1. Dont be surprized by the resources CDN is capable of,it owns Nuevo Laredo the most important plaza(arguably)in Mexico, over 8000 trucks pass over every day,you dont have to be a genius to see the opportunities afforded if you control something like that, imagine the things that pass over every day and its the CDN/Zetas plaza

    2. Someday people will realize that all cartels not just Jalisco or Sinaloa have the capabilities to carry out precision hits even without the backing of any government.
Seems to me that this is just a begenning of what can be another major incursion into Durango and or a warning of what can come!

    3. Imagine if US applied more effective practices of X-rays of all vehicles / trucks coming into the country? This rigorous approach will put a dent to what’s smuggled into the US. But NAFTA policies
award such products to be less scrutiny for security inspections. Due to expiration concerns of certain products. Added with the lack of equipment and resources ( personnel). This was reported by 60 minutes or frontline awhile back.

    4. 3:55 the most important border crossing point is in Tijuana, it's the fact that most people go through there daily than any other in the world. No wonder Mencho, cds and los arellanos wanted it so badly

    5. Sorry to burst you bubble but I couldn’t stand to see such ignorance ... Tijuana and Juárez are far more important plazas than rinky dink Nuevo Laredo ... yes yes you have a bunch of trucks moving back and forth, so does Juárez and so does Tijuana and Nogales... but not all contraband is smuggled over ground ... Juárez and Tijuana are known for tunnels something that is impossible in Nuevo Laredo without the rio grande caving in on you ... just get off that cheerleading wagon already homeboy!

    7. "Kids" and "shocked about their capabilities"?
This is what happens when you love in fairy tale land.
A kid does not run a crew by himself he is guided by adults. Nobody but rumors say kids work for CDN however. Stop listening to the propangada CDS or others throw in order for them to not fear an enemy and realize that everyone with weapons and a brain can become a terror to someone else.

    9. Laredo is not the most important Crossing Point. Cd Juarez is the most important plaza You're talking about five entry points into the u.s.

      Delete
    10. 3:55. Agree and don’t forget the trens. The years of tranquility for a plaza like NL shows that very powerful organizations have good control of the contraband passing Columbia Bridge and on the trens. This was probably vendetta or Guano. Internal to what used to be CDS

      Delete
    11. Nuevo Laredo most important plaza? hahah wtf TJ is much more lucrative not to mention juarez.

      Delete
    12. @12:36. Imagine if some genius could construct a tunnel without the Rio Grande caving in. That would be a billion dollar tunnel since everyone would assume it can’t be done and would never look for a tunnel there. Hypothetically speaking of course since I’m sure it CANT be done. I’m surprised they don’t use animals more often during border crossings. You would think a couple of cats or a female dog in heat could throw off the K-9 inspection. After all, they aren’t robots and can be thrown off their game because of natural instinct.

-Just a mind with no means

    13. @8;21PM There are tunnels built under waterways all over the world. The tunnel under the English Channel connecting the UK TO France is probably the most famous.

    17. E42 not to mention the lines of cars, trucks, buses,Mobil homes, motorcycles, and every other form of transportation waiting in line oh so patiently to be inspected..Also if they search every vehicle they will have to start searching EVERY person walking across..Thats a lot of manpower and very expensive.

    18. Actually no Nuevo Laredo plaza is more important and here's why... there's 5 major drug distribution union points in the US 1) Los Angeles 2) Atlanta 3) Miami 4) New York and 5) although not as important as the rest but still important Chicago... take a guess from what point you can be more effective distributing yo those places. Most heavy weights in the East coast, down south and up north deal with people from Texas.

      Delete
    19. nuevo laredo is the most important plaza not for the volume of crossing but because its where i35 starts and it ends in canada.

  7. Why does the author of the article use the term "heat the plaza"?. Why not just say fight for control or take out CDS?
If any hit by an outside cartel equals heating the plaza then CDS has been heating Chihuahua up for years now!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Because "heat the plaza" is different from direct fighting for control. It's a tactic used to soften up or divert attention as opposed to direct fighting.

      Delete
    2. 12:22 so if CDN strikes keeps striking would this no be concidered fighting for control?

      Delete
    3. 6:19 you’re right. It was a direct hit.

    1. They either side with Sinaloa or traffickers from Juarez.. i find it rather silly when people think that cartels function based solely on what state they are from .. if CDS or CDJ or CJNG were made up of only people from their respective state they wouldn't prosper much as a cartel, expansion would be impossible.. in Chihuahua you have half of the state supporting CDS in the sierra and the other half supporting Lineas around the border area.. you have people from sinaloa chihuahua and durango operating for CDS and you have ppl from sinaloa chihuahua and durango operating for La Linea as well.. all this BS about state pride in relation to cartels is only speculated by people that are clueless about cartel modus operandi...im not claiming to be an expert.. but i know a few people "involved" (in Phoenix to be exact), and have enough common sense to know that not all employees from Walmart are from Arkansas (Walmart's headquarters)...
