El Mencho has de-throned El Chapo and is now Chicago's public enemy #1

Translated by Otis B Fly-Wheel for Borderland Beat from a Zetatijuana article

Subject Matter: Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion
Recommendation: No prior subject matter knowledge required

Reporter: Carlos Alvarez
Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho, one of the leaders of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion, is the new public enemy number one of Chicago, Illinois, according to a declaration of Brian McKnight, new agent in charge of the DEA in Chicago, during an interview with ABC7.

The agent in charge of one of the biggest cities in the USA, also affirmed that the CJNG is behind a considerable part of the illegal drug trafficking to the city, where before the public enemy number one was the Sinaloan capo Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Loera, alias El Chapo, ex leader of the Sinaloa cartel, and now imprisoned in New York awaiting the start of his trial.

The CJNG is a criminal group, according to the DEA that separated from the Sinaloa cartel, that for decades controlled 80% of the drugs circulating in the streets  of the "Windy City".

McKnight indicated to ABC7 that it is too soon to know how much territory the Sinaloa cartel has ceded to the CJNG, however, investigators of the DEA suspect that "they arrived at an arrangement" to avoid a blood bath for control of the plaza in Chicago, where the CJNG distributes large quantities of heroin, Fentanyl and Cocaine.

Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes has utilized extreme violence and corruption, extortion to expand in a constant manner, the narco trafficking network of the CJNG that supplies the violent gangs in the streets of Chicago. "Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes is now the principal objective of the DEA in Chicago", said Brian McKnight is a press briefing after his interview.

El Mencho, who is still at large, born on the 17th of July of 1966, in Michoacan, with his criminal career started in the 1980's when he emigrated to the North of California, in the United States, to traffic heroin.

Oseguera Cervantes was detained in 1992 and spent 3 years in an American prison. Later deported, he returned to Mexico, where he consolidated as one of the principal operators of the Milenio cartel, and after formed the CJNG together with the Valencia brothers.

    1. Relax bro. Like I’ve always said here in LA sinaloa and michoacan go hand and hand . Michoacan doesn’t have the swag I’ll admit, but we definitely love to WORK. If you were really from SINALOA U would know that. Go back to sleep ZEROTE

    4. 11:57 wannabes? You make no sense.. Did you read the article? Why so much hatred? Can't we all get along!? Yea, sinaloa has the spotlight for years to come, the newcomers are the michoacanos that wanted the spot light. There have been many michoacanos in the game that went under the radar but sinaloa made it cool to have corridos about themselves and attract attention. Well at least mencho only has like 4 corridors that I've heard but chapo has like 100 lol the point is michoacan is heavy in the game while sinaloa have been heavy for a while now but now are in #2 spot. Who cares though I'm michoacano but would rather my state have no cartel presence but unfortunately due to the terrain and the fact that it has a port, it's a perfect plaza for capos. But let's be real, guys flaunt and ate proud of famous mafiosos that are from their town, just like a guy here at the states that was proud that he was born close to where billy the kid was born. Girls also love the sicarios, just look at net flicks. Much love to my sinaloa bros, stop the bickering...

Sinaloa’s are a bit more “westernized” and swagged the FU*k out , but michoacan is known to be players, and LOyal as ever, here IN LA my tios always ran with sinaloa, they brought the product and we moved it, GRAMS/ birds/half birds/ we work, and when my uncles got caught, they took it like men , did their time and got deported . But we’re still able to go
To bautizos and all the fiestas in guamuchil, Culiacan and Mazatlan, cuz if one thing is for sure the SINALOAS know how to party! They love women, las Pelea de GALLOS, and most importantly las cabalgatas, and chillin w some BUKANAS AND PERICO... just so you guys know.. anyone begs to differ, lemme know.

      Delete
    2. "Arrived to an arrangement" means, Mencho told Mayo im your new boss, Mayo told Chapo you're out. Thats why Mayo jr is testifying against Chapo! CJNG took only 5-7yrs to do what it took Sinaloa to do in 40yrs!

      Delete
    3. 3:15 CJNG has no border plaza, better yet they have no plaza of their own outside of jalisco and a small percentage of michoacan. They have no significant colombian connections like cds nor do they have the plantations in the sierras like cds. Once precursers for meth have run dry their business is pretty much over. Foh

      Delete
    4. 3:15 lol no.Mayo/RCQ are the big heads and they go beyond CDS/CJNG influence . Mencho is just a public figure btw.hes not the boss of what is called "cjng" which is just a temporal scapegoat of the government.

    6. 6:27 here we go again with stupid comment with no facts.. Look into what plazas cjng control before you write dumb comments like this! Beter yet, why don't you Google mencho and history of cjng because all you sinaloa lambe huevos just talk out your nalgas. You must be new to this, they have Tijuana plaza. Tontito

      Delete
    7. 6:27 CJNG has Tijuana they are currently working along side Juarez. They have more than enough connections for cocaine from Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru, to Bolivia. They own half of the State of Michoacán. From Morelia to Lazaro Cardenas From Patzcuaro to La Piedad From Lazaro Cardenas to the Coast with Colima some of these areas are in dispute.

But CJNG and its allies move all the big weight in that state it goes to show you don't know anything.

This is all public knowledge nothing is from an insiders point of view.

In the end they will all fall it depends what group has the most money and who is willing to stand down or fight.

From the looks of it Menchos groups is willing to fight to the death. Jalico legally has more money than Sinaloa could ever have. Illegally their is a huge market as their are millions more living there.

But Sinaloa operates in Jaliso the reality of things is not one bill moves before CJNG has a hand in it. They monopolized Jalisco in their favor.

  10. Not a surprise, Mencho is a house hold name now. It's only natural that the government from U.S to entertain the thought of telling the public they are going to go against him..If they catch him there is still El 85 to take over, if not, there is plenty in line wanting to be the boss. Also could mean the cjng structure could go independent in many states and get even bloodied than it already is. One thing is for sure, the supply is needed in the U.S so the flow of drugs won't stop. There will always be people from Sinaloa, michoacan and Tamaulipas at war with each other because of competition to be on top.. The baddest capo is a michoacano right now, who knows next year with new administration..

    3. This is true, the way things have been going lately amongst these groups they seem to no longer follow their chain of command when "promotion" comes, either there is no agreement on who would take over when needed, or there is disagreement on who is the chosen one and everyone wants to be the one. But it is for sure that once the leaders get caught none of the main plaza bosses will be the main one because the other bosses will challenge them and the cartel is usually no longer united, all factions will fight each other and all sides either still use the name (like cdg, and cds when it was guzman vs damaso) or be independent and change their name trying to build a new cartel but still remain regional (like cartel de santa rosa de lima, la nueva familia, viagras and even cjng after milenio)

The day Mencho falls i can guarantee el 85 will take over, and just like cds after guzman capture the jalisco cartel will loose many plazas outside of jalisco because these cells will want to be independent they may or may not challenge cjng but will not be directly connected with them, and just like cds cjng would shrink it will be smaller yet still strong and powerful not as much as it is right now but it will still have a strong influence in the area.

Other than that we already saw the rise of cjng, its evolution from the infighting in the milenio cartel and becoming the mysterious paramilitary group known as the Matazetas, to becoming the most powerful cartel at the moment and now it has reached its climax, now soon we will see it start to lose power and become one of the many small groups fighting eachother. I think cjng is the last cartel, the government has learned alot and i dodoubt theyll allow another cartel to rise, not another traditional cartel. Years ago it was predicted that destroying cartels will give rise to smaller dangerous groups that are formed when a cartel is shattered, all these groups that where once united have shown to fight eachother when the leaders are caught and thats what we will be facing now, drug gangs not drug cartels, drug gangs that fight for corners for right to sell drugs within mexico rather than routes to sell drugs outside of mexico, drug gangs that are no longer producers and will now be consumers, the new phase of the drug war, thats when mexico will not use its military and now see it as a social problem and deal with it with education on drugs provide rehabilitation

      Delete
    4. 1:58 cartels, cartels and more cartels, and then you promote the military side as a part of the solution...
WRONG BOY, the military have been part of the problem since Carlos Salinas de gortari stole the military budget and sent the melitares to rob and steal and mug the Mexicans on the street and at home for their Maruchan, while granting them impunity for any and all crimes with help of the US billions of dollars to have the Mexican police militarized to defend them when the need arises, no matter how many "communist" presidents the Mexicans elect...

    3. @11:05 Why would a Cartel bring weed into the US when they can just send people into the US and have them grow it directly there. The weed industry has changed drastically. Kids aren’t smoking that Mexican swag anymore and the cartels know it. One can even argue that Meth has made such a dramatic rise because weed was no longer valuable to the cartels and they needed another cash cow.

    4. @3:21 that's exactly what they do they send the Raza to teach the gringos how to grow since the gabachos agriculture/growing techniques are worth shit. Then the gabachos go around saying that they grow the best buds when it's the Mexicans doing all the work. Same thing with that Walter

Nobody up there knows Mencho or CJNG

    8. The biggest Mexican population in Chicago is from Michoacán. With Jalisco, Durango and Guerrero having a large population here too, so it makes sense that el Mencho’s influence is growing. Being born and raised here, I’ve only met a handful of people from Sinaloa. Sinaloenses aren’t deep over here, with that said, people will always go with whoever has the better connects and the better product. Sinaloa has had a good run in the Windy City, but that doesn’t mean that the tides aren’t changing.

    1. El Mayo is more low profile then Mencho.

    2. Indeed. As important as El Mayo is, he keeps a pretty low profile. Experts also disagree on the extent of his current involvement with the Sinaloa Cartel, with some believing that he's mostly retired. El Mencho's group is responsible for much of the current violence affecting Mexico, and they continue to spread while the Sinaloa Cartel is in decline. I can see why he's a bigger priority.

    1. @11:02, interesting fact, America purchased that land and yes it was after we conquered mexico but American still paid for it and gave them back the rest of their territory instead of keeping it like every other country would have.

    2. @2:42 Another interesting fact; The negotiations of the Treaty of Hidalgo had dragged on for months without the negotiators reaching an agreement until word reached Washington that gold had been discovered at Sutter's Mill in Calif on Jan. 24, 1848. US negotiators scrambled to finish the treaty accepting some terms that Mexico wanted but US had opposed in the negotiations. They got the treaty signed on Feb. 2nd 1848 before word of the gold discovery reached Mexico City. Coincidence?

    1. Thats a negative. They've already lost a good portion of municipalities in Jalisco and getting their asses handed to them all over mexico. If "the money was there" they wouldn't be on the verge of going the route the zetas, templarios did. Face it cjng was all hype, ghey have enemies at every corner or mexico who are making alliances against them. Its ova!

  41. CJNG thought they could go and intimidate challenge all the groups in Mexico there big mistake was that, it didnt work out for the Zetas and it wont work for them, they cant even take on small local groups liKe Marro in Guanajuato. CDS wiped out Damasos group in no time which had more capital than el Marro from guanajuato.

    2. This Headline is great! CHICAGO'S # 1 enemy is El Mencho. It's an attempt at blaming the US for ALL of Mexico's problems. It is the so called bb journalist s, laughing at the US. Mencho could have been ruler of Mexico. He wiped out the zetas just as he said he would. This site rarley, if ever mentions Nieto. Hmmm?. Must be everyone else's fault ....AGAIN . Mencho for President. He brought the sought after change didn't He? You wanted zetas eliminated. He did it. All for Mencho!

  44. El Mencho is legit. This guy is badass and deserves respect. He pulled it off. Viva Mencho!
