Fierce Battle in Guamuchil Leaves Six Dead

Translated by Otis B Fly-Wheel for Borderland Beat from El Debate and Riodoce articles

Subject Matter: Sicario Gun Battle
Recommendation: No prior subject matter knowledge required

The confrontations between delinquent groups from Guamuchil and Mocorito, occurred this week, they started during the Fiestas de San Benito.

The festivities that were carried out in Mocorito, turned into a battle between antagonistic groups, with the usual gunfire that left an unofficial death toll of 12 persons.

The events started on Sunday night, when two organizations that hold power in local towns came out to confront each other and by Monday morning there were six dead, three of them innocent victims and 12 more injured.

The authorities only know of nine injured, the rest have been hidden and received medical attention in a clandestine manner.

After this a group of delinquents escaped in the direction of Guamuchil, where they had a confrontation with elements from the base of mixed urban operations.

In the places where the shootouts occurred the authorities confiscated eight automobiles from the delinquents.

That said, this marked the start of day of violent events that has prolonged during that week, generating panic in the Evora region.

On the morning of Friday the 2nd, more confrontations followed in different points of the city of Guamuchil, starting at the Rosales Boulevard across from the Pedro Infante Square, and extended to diverse Colonias and concluded in Calle Jesus Rodriguez and Ferrocarril, where four armored pickups were abandoned. Officially the confrontations lasted for an hour.

On board one of the vehicles were six dead people, ( see article main photo), clothed in camouflage jackets, their identification is still outstanding, though unofficially it was mentioned that the fallen are from a group that operated in Guamuchil.

Once soldiers had cordoned off the area, evidence was collected from six weapons, all were AK47 assault rifles, four 9mm pistols, and a .45 calibre pistol, a .50 calibre Barrett sniper rifle, and more than 20 x 40mm grenades and more than 500 rounds of different calibres.

The diverse confrontations registered in Evora during the week , provoked panic among citizens, who implemented a curfew.

  1. About two weeks ago several big signs were hung throughout Guamuchil accusing the military of corruption and theft.

    2. 10:11 report says groups of criminals, or cartels fighting each other, not all of Guamuchil, Evora, Mocorito and plaza Pedro Infante inhabitants were fighting against the rest of Sinaloa, pendejo.
I also believe the Mixed Urban Force just went and murdered themselves some empecherados and a few collateral casualties for a good measure, for accusing them of a conduct that absolutely becomes them, ronbbing, stealing, raping and extorting, just starting out with the new governor, they are not "police or regular military, these are called FUERZA DELICTIVA ESTATAL on others states, imposing La ley del Monte Narco-Priista.
Maybe interview the people around the shooting and not the "forces of state government"

  3. Word is, this is a internal power struggle between el cholo ivans people where the tension finally exploded after el cholo's brother was attacked a week or so ago. The blame is being directed at a regional boss in the area named juan pablo el 100 as ordering the hit. Juan pablo has a long history with el chapo isidro and even rumored to have been a part of the hit squads isidro use to send back in the day into guamuchil. Juan pablo was said to have supported el guero mcgyver a violent mofo loyal to isidro when they attacked and killed those 7 police in guamuchil and the old plaza boss for cds. El guero mcgyver ended up getting swiss cheesed up in a ambush with several of his people giving the first indications of el 100's betrayal. Juan pablo had since switched to cds when isidro went into hiding giving out locations of blo operators in los mochis, el fuerte, sinaloa de leyva and ahome to cds which in turn began making incursions into blo territory with the help of the army, only managing to get a foothold of certain areas due to strong blo resistance.with dos letras dead, and h2 fleeing to nayarit thus is why when el chapo was caught the 2nd time in la mochila, he was able to roam freely throughout the city after pushing most of beltranes people out with the help of juan pablo. When ivan was captured with chapo in northern sinaloa, juan pablo and his cells in the sierras were then questioned by ivans brother but ultimately still flew under the cds banner. It seems el 100's former links with blo have come back to bite him leaving him to fend for himself which could possibly mean the the uptick in violence in guamuchil. Since el cholo ivan is no longer around who el 100 was loyal to since 2012-13 he might end up like his old buddy el guero

    7. The thing about cells within CDS is that even though the leader of the cell might have died a while back his followers keep calling themselves his people. In the Juarez valley about five years ago some CDS capo was killed by the marines and up to about last year his followers still placed banners under this dudes name. So it can very well be Cholo Ivan or Juan Pablos name out there thrown by their followers that leads people to keep mentioning these fools!

    1. After Chapo Isidro got shot and legged it for San Pedro Garza, he left his lieutenants in charge. Guys like El Cien, Chuy Gonzalez, El Tortillero Lizarraga Ontiveros, and Guero Saba. Only 2 of those may still remain; there have been multiple occasions Chuy Gonzales has falsely been reported dead, while Guero Saba was only a gatillero in Mazatlan. So I would say the Cartel de Guasave is essentially gone; the surviving members mostly went back to the Beltran Leyvas.

    1. 12:18-Your comment is dangerous, not true and unfair to 99% of Sinaloenses. When I watching Dallas, LA, Chicago news it appears too as if there's no law or police (71 shootings in Chicago in one weekend last month and 178 drive by shootings since 2017 in Dallas). However these acts and the criminales do not define or represent most the people of the city or the USA.

If you drove through Sinaloa and use common sense as you use in USA you are very unlikely to ever have problem. And if you did have problem not related to narco problem; MOST Sinaloans will give shirt from the back to help you as when I had wreck high in la sierra with autobús and the inconvenienced passengers from Torreon were kind and helpful even though it was my error and am driving new Suburban. A passenger from Torreon drove me back to Mazatlan following autobús and he and his new wife waited at hospital for maybe 8 hours while on their 3 day honeymoon. Last summer a pescador on Comedero helped my sons and me during violent storm when the panga motor had problems. They brought us to their home, fed us and INSISTED my sons sleep in their bed while I waited for family to come from Cosala.

Are these acts savage? Please keep prospective that generalization and labeling people is dangerous, inaccurate and unfair. Most people in Sinaloa and Mexico are good people who value humanity more than consumerism and money.

      Delete
    2. 12:18 a great majority of the CDS sicarios aren't even from Sinaloa. They represent CDS, yes but they aren't from the state. The over dressed Capos and Lieutenants flashing money and girls on social media sights are the ones from Sinaloa. When you put rifles in the hands of a bunch pretty boy wannabes you get Los Antrax. And if you know anything about Los Antrax you will know they didn't last long against the better trained enforcer groups. The thing you'll find out about the CDS they don't put in their own work. They rather pay someone else to do it for them. Do you think the Chapitos ever banged it out in a fire fight with their enemy? Hell no. If they did they would be more respected in the game than they are. That's why the CDS will never win the narco war. If you want to talk about savage then you should be talking about Tamaulipas, Michoacán and Guerrero. Zacatecas and Jalisco aren't a joke either.

I agree.Doing read trips all over Mexico I was impressed by the hospitality even complete strangers inviting me to their homes to stay. It's easy to get that scewed being a narco site we are reading the negative side of a society day after day after day so we do need to be reminded that 98% of Mexicans are great people.I found the Mexicans are different ni Mexico generally than the US.Much more hospitable in Mexico for those that don't know and would give the shirt off their back even though they don't have anything and have every right to hoard the little they do have. They don't seem to have a chip on their shoulder and welcome foreign expats to their country.

It's true they are pretty boys who parade their guns but how you think the ántrax made it big time they had to put in work you gotta earn it it isn't given to you chino ántrax maybe a rat bastard but he earn his stripes he killed one of Arellano brothers not a single cartel boss in the history of narco trafficking has been able to do that. You think Vincent Zambada was a bitch? The man loved to get in shoot outs when he was young the boy maybe a rat but he earned his stripes. And don't even get me started on the Beltranes and their people, buche and chalito died guns blazing with Arturo. Macho prieto caused a lot of havoc as well. La mochomera los mazatlecos etc. you act like all chinolas weak but it's far from that you think gunmen from another states are going to tell the sinaloans what to do? My brother you are wrong the chinolas been about it, they have their punks just like any other states but for you to say they all weak just shows me you're a bitter hater. All those other state you mentioned have fought long and hard for their stripes yes but the Sinaloans biggest issue is giving other gunmen from different states power and money when in the end they all bite the hand that feeds them and their have been plenty of examples the sinaloans gave mencho power when his own people wanted his head same with Manuel el animal. Who gave the pienada brothers power and they ended up robbing and extorting people Arturo B. Sinaloa been feeding these cats with the expectation of the golfos but they all turn out to be jealous envious snakes I'm only going with what I see.
