6 Cartel Gunmen Burned Alive in Mexican Border City

Six members of the highly feared Los Zetas drug cartel were burned alive in their vehicle after a grenade exploded inside the SUV. The incident occurred following a rolling gun battle with authorities in this border city.

The gun battle took place Saturday morning when a group of six cartel gunmen riding in an SUV were trying to escape from Mexican authorities. Residents from the Juarez neighborhood reported hearing gunfire during the pursuit.

Nuevo Laredo is a border city just south of Laredo, Texas, that plays a large role in the import and export of goods for the manufacturing industry. The area is also considered to be the home turf of the Los Zetas drug cartel.

It was in that Juarez neighborhood that for unknown reasons the SUV used by the Los Zetas gunmen crashed into the wall of a home. Inside the vehicle, a grenade went off starting a massive fire that rapidly engulfed the vehicle and the six gunmen were burned alive. Two other vehicles also became fully engulfed in the fire, which also damaged the house as well. Grenades are generally one of the diversionary measures used by cartel members to cause mass panic on a rival’s turf or in fierce gun battles. In this case it appears that the explosive device was likely to be used in an effort to slow down authorities.

Once the fire was extinguished, emergency responders and authorities working the crime scene placed the charred remains of the six gunmen on a tarp in the street as they went through the vehicle gathering what was left of the weapons.

The Tamaulipas government has remained silent and has not released any public information as to the events prior to or during the fatal gun battle. It remains unclear if the Los Zetas gunmen were going to or coming from another gun battle. However, they were wearing full tactical gear including body armor and military style helmets.

    1. Canadiana? Don't you have a better comment than that to write? Karma? How old are you? Are you writing it is OK your kids not only take the blame of others wrong doings yet never break bad habits? In a pool of piranhas, it makes one wonder who is desperate?

  3. I find it amazing that in a country where all guns are illegal there seems to be no shortage of arms, GRENADES, and tactical gear. Doesn't the US military inventory their stuff.

    1. US military? Plenty of other sources of arms besides them. Including the Mexican military.

    2. Well, the US military, the Dupont, the Bush, and the Rothschild, BlackRock, blackwater, AND the banks love to supply both sides of every conflict even before it starts...
--It makes them money and opens up a lot of more business opportunities...the US certainly is not to be blamed all alone for all of the evil things it's big business masters, drug traffickers, mercenaries and weapons merchants do under and behind the US back...

  5. Zetas would carry explosive grenades instead of incendiary, are you sure they were not finished off with a grenade from outside?
--Also, did they have their zeta id's with them?
Because it is hard to believe anything the government says, you know?
Many times it looks like mop up jobs on their own friends and sicarios by the government officers...

    1. 1130. It is amazing how you group people together by a name. My question is do you understand they are not all alike? While one could have been killing a person, one could have been at home with his wife having no idea about the killing? There could have even been an innocent hitch hiker in the car. Is it too much for you to comprehend in your pea brain?

    1. 5:35. Try thinking about a cousin and his friend, who were not involved, were just in the car getting a ride to the store? And what about other members such as the line? Or better yet, why don't you go out and grill someone on grill and whole heartedly feast to your content, so no one has to hear what you are starving for? Nothing can help you except you

    2. at 7:33.....sounds like you must have had a cousin or friend that worked for a cartel and was killed. Get over it...they got involved with organized crime and most likely deserved what they got.
