Tijuana: The Capture of 'El Marlon' de Los Aquiles

The Capture of El Marlon de Los Aquiles

As Sanchez Tadoaba and other colonies are bloodied by the day in a barrage of killings, faces and names are revealed...The shadowy names that are whispered, written in federal charging documents, fingered by informants and snitches, sang in corridos outside homes on both sides of the border.  'El Marlon' is said to be a top lieutenant of El Aquiles, whom has seen his fortunes reversed, in the last few years.

Marlon, of course, is not his closest known lieutenant, but allegedly a top subordinate, and one charged with the January killings at the cockfight ring in Ensenada, which has had a messy narrative construction, but now has seemingly fallen into place.

The arrests have been linear, and centered around the Ensenada area, which is apparently an Aquiles stronghold, as many of his command have been arrested there, in addition to large crystal and marijuana seizures recently.   Another lieutenant of El Marlon was captured in Febuaury and accused of directly participating in the cockfighting killings.
Marco Tullio Carillo, 'Marlon' is a former municipal police officer, formerly affiliated with Arellano Felix, as recently as 2010, which may mean under the Los Teos banner.  Nearly all of the Aquiles/Tigre factions are made up of these, Teos soldiers became the Sinaloa lieutenants, and their subordinates, in the fall out after 2008.  Marlon, like many others in similar positions had multiple arrests and warrants for weapons possessions and drugs, and was released several times.

There is some disagreement about the capture of Marlon, which occurred in Rosarito. Apparently soldiers and federal police stormed his house, and many believed it was Raul Miranda Ortiz, 'Alejo', a profile target as of late, said to be the top enforcer/right hand for Aquiles.  There were also claims that the authorities had no warrant.  After some confusion, and 4 days, it was reported Marlon was captured with weapons, 1.5 kilograms of crystal, and 4 ounces of marijuana, two cars, and 5,000 pesos, and three quad bikes.

Federal authorities claimed in a Mexico City presser, he was responsible for siacrios, and conducting kidnappings and targeted killings, including the attempted murder of Gabriel Ayala Fonesca, 'Los Tres Animals', and Arellano Felix cell leader, who escaped the massacre. Marlon is also named in documents filed in federal court in San Diego, in the sentencing and charging of Juan Castro Navarro, who was sentenced to 15 years last June.

Castro Navarro led a methamphetamine and heroin trafficking cell, after a load was stolen, Castro Navarro, who coordinated and paid 'floor' to Marlon, on behalf of Los Aquiles, turned to Marlon to help him find, and lift up, a man in Tijuana, linked with the LA man.  The man was kidnapped and tortured for a day or so, with pictures (published exclusively by Zeta Tijuana) showing a slow, agonziing process of fear, and brutality in stained concrete floors and dirty sweatshirts.  His body was dumped a day later in late January 2014. Castro Navarro wasn't charged for the killing, but his phone was compromised by HSI (Homeland Security Investigations) and US authorities were aware of the killing.

At his sentencing, evidence of Castro Navarro's torture and murder of the man, 'El Sureno', a deportee, was used by the AUSA to enhance his sentence.  Marlon was also overheard on wiretaps, acting as something of a middle manager, instructing Castro Navarro on customers to send heroin and crystal to, in Los Angeles and Washington State.  One customer was interested in 20 pounds of crystal a week, at 3700 a pound, likely that was on consignment.  A pound of crystal in Tijuana is about 1500.  It is unknown of Marlon is under indictment in the US based on that investigation.

Rivals burned Marlon in January by placing banners with his full name and position, linking him with Aquiles, as well as other members of Los Aquiles, the banner was signed by CTNG, and El Mencho. Marlon sits in Mexico City, on organized crime charges, Rosarito's beaches and Ensenada's scenic views a lifetime away.

    1. Mexican cops do not get paid 700.00 dollars a month, cities may get billed $1 000.00 dollars a week for each one by the police department director...but officers need to get out and "earn a living by themselves the old way, shake it and bust ass for their money, extort, kidnap murder and take kickbacks...

    3. There not making 40k a year cut it out, your lost, if that was the case they would be livin pretty good and there would be no need for more than half to be corrupt. 1000x4.3 weeks a monthx12=51 k. Your a fool, just because the director charges a fee doesn't mean the cop gets a gee.

  8. I do believe USA Govt officials make money from Mex. DTO's. Besides if Americans are drugged they are less likely to be able to fight their real enemy and that is all forms of government in the USA, or even be able to perceive the identity of this enemy. Americans abuse many legal and prescription drugs also, including alcohol.

  15. Aquiles y Los 28 will be pushed out by Damasos while CJNG continues to establish their presence. The Sinaloa infighting only benefits Mencho, who is gaining the support of the political establishment in Tijuana through his CAF connections. End result, Mencho takes control of Tijuana (as much as one can these days, no one will come close to the domination the Arellanos enjoyed) with CDS pushed to a more marginal role paying piso.
