Altiplano Prison: High profile extraditions and transfers were due to security risks

Lucio R. Borderland Beat material from LaRazon (thank you reader)
Transferred to federal prisons in Jalisco, Tamaulipas, Nayarit, and Durango
Not taking chances of another embarrassment, many high risk prisoners are been moved from Altiplano prison. Since Altiplano has the reputation of the most efficient and secure max prison in Mexico, what are the chances of additional high profile escapes?  Before the escape of El Chapo, Altiplano was the only prison in Mexico without a successful prison escape.

The National Safety Commission reported that in cells at Altiplano Prison, the prison El Chapo escaped from, guards found many prohibited items.

The finding of prohibited items in their cells, along with an attempt to disrupt meal time a week ago and groups that had formed inside the prison of Altiplano, were some of the reasons why the National Security Committee (CNS) conducted the transfer of 39 prisoners, highly dangerous criminals to other prisons around the country.

According to information from the CNS, in recent days a group of inmates tried to sabotage the breakfast time, after refusing to eat. They took their trays, rose and began to beat them as if they were drums.

They explained that this action undertaken as a "protest" to an operation that prison authorities made days before and where they seized  prohibited items found in their cells, including watches and other devices.

Apparently the prison previously had ignored the regulations which states they are not permitted.

After an investigation into prisoners who were forming and leading small groups within the prison, the CNS decided to make the move to depressurize the prison.

These are the reasons that Abigael González Valencia, El Cuini; Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales, El Z40; Rubén Oseguera González, El Menchito; Teodoro García Simental, El Teo, and Omar Treviño Morales, El Z42, among others were transferred on Wednesday to various prisons around the country.

The prisoners were sent to federal prisons in the states of Jalisco, Tamaulipas, Nayarit and Durango.

According to the federal agency reports, following the transfer of these 39 inmates who are considered highly dangerous prisoners, as well as the extradition of another 13 to the United States, also on Wednesday, the current population at Altiplano is now at 900.

Even before the escape of Joaquin El Chapo Guzman, which occurred the night of July 11, the maximum security facility, located in Almoloya de Juarez, State of Mexico, had a population of 1106 prisoners, which exceeded its capacity of  836.

  1. Hell, Z40 has a better chance escaping from a prison in tamaulipas than he does at the altiplano since tamps has always been the home turf for the z's

  7. This movement of prisoners from one of the "supposedly best" prison in mexico to other prisons is one of the stupidest moves the Mexican government is doing by therefore facilitating the possible escape of these dangerous criminals. I predict that within 6 months one or more of these criminals will escape. Mexico's prisons, mexico's politicians, mexico's government and mexico's cartels are all one in the same mafia. In Mexico money talks and bullshit walks.

  8. The persons they should have transferred are the guards who may have allowed the NOT PERMITED items into the prison. The persons who authorized the transfer of this prisoners were played (conned) into making this move. This is what the prisoners wanted.

  9. Why is it up to the US to clean up Mexicos rash! Those corrupt incompetent Mexicans cant do a damn thing right!

    1. Actually their Justice System mirrors ours but in all honesty it could be the funds that are generated from our enormous appetite for drugs that keeps people corrupt, so in other words we create the problem making U.S. (us) responsible for the rash.

  10. The Mexican officials fell for it. Don't be surprised when there are multiple escapes all over Mexico now. You take 30 plus high profile offenders from Altiplano which is suppose to be the most secure then you transfer them to a less secure ones. The fear of another El Chapo escape from Altiplano will just increase the chances of it happening else where.

  14. Send them to the USA via extradition for the crimes they have committed or conspired to commit with others. The BOP won't put up with any of that crap, and there's a snowball's chance in hell for escape.

  19. The genius Mexican government probably put Z40 and Z42 in Tamps and Cuini and Menchito in Jalisco. Maybe even El Teo in Durango so his CDS buddies can bust him out too. After all, the Mexican authorities have a brilliant track record at keeping prisoners in a secure and stable environment. Take the countless riots in prisons in Tamps and Juarez for example, or El Chapo's escape.

  20. Mexican government has been paid again, the kingpins will just rook, like as if "it is chess..." some frequent BB commenter says, after learning to coordinate in almoloya school they are ready to take back their feudal domains whilst working coordinated with the other perps...

  22. I seriously doubt they sent them to their home turf I think the contrary. Like Z-40 and Z-42 were sent to Jalisco Menchito and Cuñis to Tamaulipas. Sent to opposing turf so their own workers will not work to get them out.

  23. PRI Government is very accommodating to their Drugs Lords.

    ReplyDelete
  24. and remember there is no penalty for escaping or attempting to escape prison in Mexico, unless a crime is committed in the process. For example some one was killed.

    1. Yeah, something like , it's only human nature, to want to escape punishment and confinement. Maybe a POW, not a POS! So, what if one of those "prisoners" are caught, trying to escape, is it a law against attempting, an escape?

  25. Miguel Trevino aka "Z40" was transferred to

El centro penitenciario de Puente Grande, Jalisco (greater Guadalajara

It is considered one of the most corrupt prisons in the federal "max" system and where chapo escaped some 14 years ago.

They have a cushy life there, money talks, lots of fiestas and rec time here is an article in spanish but try the translator to get the gist of it

    1. Money does talk there, chapo paid like 5 to 10 million dollars to escape from there in 2001. Z40 is probably going to make some sort of deal with the prison guards there so he can escape...

      Delete
    2. Puente grande's a joke....chapo easily got out of there in 2001 just by bribing the prison guards 5 to 10 million dollars....Z40 is probably going to do the same just so he can escape

    3. Chivis where did you find the info that Z40 was transferred to Jalisco? I believe it, I just want to know where to find the info because I google search him almost every day to see if there are any updates.

    4. it was in a jalisco newspaper. Here is the thing though. He won an amparo just 6 months or so ago to be transferred to altiplano to make it easier for family to visit both he and omar. so what happened with that? how can he now be transferred if he has behaved. which reports say he has and he is very respectful. so now they can transfer? supposedly the government confirmed his transfer back to jalisco. but I have not checked into it further. maybe you can see what's up?

      Delete
    5. Not so much of a joke that's where el mochomo was and look where he is at now lmao

    6. @ Chivis I can definitely look more into it if you can point me in the right direction. Should I try to find an online Jalisco newspaper?
The only thing I've been able to find about him recently is that he organized a dance party near the prison (in his honor or something, he wasn't there).

  28. if all of these transfered cartel Capos were sent to prisons that are on the "turf" of opposing cartels wouldn't this be dangrearous for them since they would be in a prison full of the opposing cartel members BUT their bosses are being held at the other prisons, so if they kill one Capo the then other would be in danger of a retaliation hit so in theory it would make sense to strike a "safety" deal ASAP. "We take care of your Capo and you take care of ours" kinda of thing which will form alliances amongst them and possibly create unified Cartels.
    Thoughts?

  32. My thought is if these capos DO get sent to their territory prisons it's probably one of the conditions of their capture maybe that's part of the deal they made to be captured, it would make sense since most of them were caught with out a single shot. Because I know for a fact most of them would go out guns blazing we all know how corrupt the justice system is I'm sure they could gather up more than 2 mill to bribe some one to live in a home prison. And if they are NOT sent to their home but rivals it only means one thing they are going to be sent to their deaths pretty much. Just my 2 cents

  34. Has it occurred to anyone that maybe El Chapo and associates are behind this transfer? I remember hearing Chapo squashed beefs with other cartel members when he was at Altiplano. With his connects both in the underworld and in the government I see a possibility they paid the man to make this happen.

  36. They are not going to escape. They are going to be let out clandestinly as has been done since forever and they will come back only for an official head count. Then theyll go back out living their regular narco lives. i guess having all those rich narcos concentrated in one prison wasnt too cool with the other wardens. They wanted their cut too. Remember, the only way Mexico extradites people is if they are no longer of any use to them. Which means they either ran out of money or lost their power or refused to pay. Usually they run out of money.
