EXCLUSIVE: After completing
a long run as the tragic motorcycle club leader on Sons Of Anarchy, Charlie
Hunnam [below right] is going to play another character who gets lost in the drug trade.
Legendary has acquired the 2011 Rolling Stone article American Drug Lord, and
they have set American Sniper scribe Jason Hall to write the script as a
potential star vehicle for Hunnam.
Legendary will produce with
Plan B’s Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner and Hunnam. It is based on the story of Edgar Valdez, a high school football player
from Texas who would become the only U.S. citizen to rise to the level of cartel leader in Mexico. From his base in Acapulco, Valdez, who brought the nickname La Barbie that was given him by his high school football coach, made $130 million in one year moving drugs from Colombia.
from Texas who would become the only U.S. citizen to rise to the level of cartel leader in Mexico. From his base in Acapulco, Valdez, who brought the nickname La Barbie that was given him by his high school football coach, made $130 million in one year moving drugs from Colombia.
He became increasingly
feared and allegedly ratcheted up the violence that involved filming the brutal
executions of rivals and posting them on the Internet. As the drug riches
escalated along with the violence, the rival cartels turned on one another,
with the help of crooked cops. Valdez’s life became a struggle to stay alive.
Great just what we all need, more glorification of the cartel lifestyle!!!
ReplyDeleteHell yeah! Woo woop!
DeleteNo it will show tragedy.
DeleteAnd also show young hispanic americans punks that are still in school how to become like him. All those scare face wantta b's...
DeleteI kow right! Why not a movie on dr. Mireles a real noble person not a jackass named la barbie.
DeleteRelax, it's a movie
DeleteYo 7:33 we want to be entertained in the movies with some action, not put to see sleep by Dr. Mireles nobleness. This is the reason why u still have people talking about Goodfellas Casino Donnie Brasco etc.... And not about Noble Peace prize movies like Capote n so n In To The Woods etc.....
Delete@ 7:50 you need both movies to show the two sides of the problem. Making both movies will help make this history so we dont repeat it.
Delete"La Barbie" Coming soon in 3d
DeleteHell yeah!!! High Rating move coming up, lets see if it surpasses GoodFellas in the violence catagory. N how close they are to the real life of Barbie.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see this. La barbie has such a crazy story it will be cool to see on the big screen. I wonder how much of the movie will be fabricated though... and I highly doubt he made 130 million in one year. Maybe he moved 130 million in total value, but total profit is hard to believe
ReplyDeletewhen they give these figures they always use retail prices...for instance if a guy moves a kilo which is worth, say 15 thousand wholesale, the govt will figure its worth if sold as nickels bags which might be 250,000 and say the guy was moving 250K worth of dope every week instead of the 15 k he was really moving
DeleteWe are talking about cocaine here... shipping from the source in colombia to US in multi-ton quantities is going to leave these kind of earnings...maybe even greater...he just said 130 to get the bloodsuckers off his back...
DeleteI'm with you on that one.
DeleteAhh I see. But still holy crap 130 million a year, wow.
DeleteYeah and how much does he make now?.Maybe some on the proceeds of this movie. Is this movie authorized by him?I guess he cant sue,hes in jail or will he be extradicted to US?
DeleteHe moved it doesn't mean that's what he ended up with at the end. You still got to pay the Colombians and the people crossing it for you into the United States and also the people crossing it pass the U.S. Check points
DeleteFuck Yeah.
ReplyDeleteTo my knowledge the movie was made and conpleted.. But barbie had not decided to release it.. Or something along those lines
ReplyDeleteno and they don't need it.
Deletethe screenplay is being worked on now
Chronicas de un narco is about la barbie. You can watch it online.
DeleteLa Barbie paid somebody to make his life story into a movie. When he was arrested he said it was finished and produced but didn't know who had the final copy.
DeleteIt will be interesting to see , who from BL makes the film , and also if Los Manos con Ojos will make the script.
DeleteI wonder if the movie is going to show when he ratted out Arturo BL and all the snitching he did
DeleteI'm one of the few who hates the Hollywood spin on the drug cartel, but I'm actually looking forward to this. Hopefully it sticks to the script of his actual life without it being over the top.
ReplyDeleteIts hollywood buddy. They always make things LOOK bigger. Adding up some "extra action".
Delete@4:44 Not every hollywood movie is high flying bombs busting action buddy.
Delete@ 6:33 You clearly didn't get it "buddy". (weysote) lol
DeleteMan!!! Don't do that shit...glorify this piece of shit motherfucker. There's nothing to brag about this "drug lord" when he turned around and became a snitch. He's a punk bitch. At least own up to your $130 million dollars. Deal with your lifestyle, don't take everyone else down with you.
ReplyDeleteOh SHUT UP! Just like you watched Casino GooFellas Donnie Brasco etc....ull be the 1st watching it
DeleteIf they made a movie about Chapo I wonder who would play him. They would have to get a good actor from CA to play him. I don't think there is an Hollywood actor short enough to play him. Maybe Jet Li
ReplyDeleteJet Li as chapó lol!
DeleteOr maybe guillermo from chelsie lately
DeleteDanny DeVito!!!
DeleteJack Black?
Deletehttps://pbs.twimg.com/media/BhGUm4gCIAAJ6GZ.jpg
I always said,Joe pecsi should play Chapo.!!
DeleteGuillermo is from Jimmy kimmel. Chelsea lately had chuy.
DeleteLuis Guzman
DeleteGallagher
DeleteI'm with 3:14 Jack Black as nacho libre already looks like him
DeleteLuis Guzman should play Tuta!
DeleteMr.Wilson from Dennis the menace should play chapo.
DeleteI am definitely not one to hope they make the movie. Why glorify a real human piece of shit. At least Mattel will make a ton of money during the filming, they are contracted for all the extras...jajaja legs, arms, torsos, heads...
DeleteChapo- Peter Dinklage (from the movie Elf)
DeleteEl Azul- Danny Trejo (Machete)
El Mayo- Edward James Olmos
"tatu" from Fantasy Island..."the plane, the plane!!"
DeleteHow bout elchapo plays himself.
DeleteChapo can't play himself because in the whole movie he would be shackled entire time. How fun is that?
DeleteEmilio Franco plays Chapo that guy Franco seems like he plays all the star roles in Mexican Corrido movies, he probably would star as Tookie Williams if Tookie spoke Spanish
Delete@7:53 am
DeleteEmilio Franco was murdered in his house in Downey, Ca back in 2010. R.I.P. Emilio Franco
I want them to make a movie about those 2 dudes who got executed with a chainsaw.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I know they were a nephew and uncle working here in the U.S. Public data shows the nephew being caught with drugs and years later he winds up on liveleak being executed along with his uncle with a chainsaw by either Sinaloa or BLO.
I'll never forget that video. Imprinted in my head for life. Doesnt help that I watched it a dozen times
DeleteBones- that one scared me too.. But the one that messed me up more, made me trow up and made me angry, was that video of 4 woman kneeling down and they all get cut up to pieces with a machete, the last woman to be killed saw everything and got all the blood splattered on her.. Horrific! There was also an elderly woman in that video maybe early 60's?
DeleteSad very sad..
Itll be a short movie, Born, Little Bit of School, Fast Life, n Dead, The End!!!
DeleteCharlie Hunnam is a great actor and a good choice for any movie. With that said, I see lots of obstacles in the way of getting this movie done.
ReplyDeleteFirst, it's gonna be very hard to make this movie and not piss off anybody that is still on the outside. I'm don't think any of the BLO will be happy with this movie. If La Eme almost got Edward James Olmos for "American Me" then I don't know what the BLO or even stronger Narcos or politicos will do.
Second, what language will it be in? Hunnam is a great actor, but he's British and has a strong British accent. Will he speak good Spanish?
Third, where will it be filmed? Anywhere in Mexico will be dangerous.
Thanks for the info guys. What did you guys think of the movie "Frontera"?
1. No one in Mexico will do anything. Everyone who worked with La Barbie is either in jail or executed, or has no real power anyway. Hell, we made a movie about North Korea without anyone getting killed, and believe me Barbie is less powerful than Kim Jong.
Delete2. It will be in English, obviously. I cant believe this is even a question. The whole movie will be in English, and it will be made for Americans, like every great movie.
3. Now this is actually a good question. They probably wont film it in mexico. But, its possible to film anything anywhere these days. Homeland is filmed in South Africa and it takes place in Pakistan.
Did you hear his British accent in S.O.A. genious..no,right?...that's why they are called actors.they can play different roles and talk different accents.
DeleteIt will be in English for sure. I am just saying that because it is being made by people from Hollywood. I would assume it would be filmed mostly in texas for safety reasons. Im sure some will be filmed in mexico though
DeleteHave you watched Sons of Anarchy? Hunnam has no problems hiding his British accent. Most good Actors from the UK and Australia have no issues masking their accents. I didn't even know Hunnam was British when I first watched Sons of Anarchy. I think he'll do fine as far as that goes.
DeleteThanks for the response Bones and the rest of you guys. We'll see what happens. Hunnam is a good choice though.
Delete@ 3:32, calm down pendejo. I'm just curious how he'll sound when he has to say his Spanish lines. We'll see how it comes out. Not even you know how it will sound till we hear it genious.
@6:19 AGAIN, the movie will be made in English... No Spanish lines for him. Got it.
Deletewhat toke so long, best movie on is the Bridge. Love this narco BS. the cartel r here to stay if u don't like them quit reading this site. ( Bet u won't)
ReplyDeleteis the bridge a series? my friends were talking about a series, I believe it was called the bridge. They said something about a narco blog being a part of it and the female feeds info or writes for the blog? chivis?
ReplyDeleteThey are looking for someone to play a small part in the movie....a head with no body! LOL. Any takers?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Z40 will be in it, since he was a big rival of La Barbie...
ReplyDeleteHonestly if they're making a narco movie, I think either Z40 with his horse racing or Chapo with his everything would be the most interesting.
You are correct 3:16p but the La Barbie story is more appealling to Americans because of his US upbringing. It will make more money in the box office just for that reason. Plus CDS and Zetaz would be more likely to resort to violence against producers and film makers since both still have a lot of power.
Delete4:54 P.M., you hit the nail on the head. It seems like more of an " It could happen to me" type of story. It is not likely to make him look 'bigtime'. It is more likely going to show a smalltown 'all american' boy who quickly got in over his head. The story would make a great after school special not a blockbuster.
DeleteChivis do you know if there's any update on La Barbie? Do they have a plan for a trial? From what I've read on BB and elsewhere, they started his extradition process in 2012, but otherwise he's just sitting in Altiplano eating very well.
ReplyDeleteyes, i reported he loss his appeals against extradition and can be moved anytime.
DeleteOk thank you. So he's for sure being extradited, and they're just waiting to organize it or something? Could you link me to the post you made?
Deletego to google and search using la barbie loses bid to stop extradition
Deleteours comes up. it was 11 months ago. everything was clear but still has not happened.
Chivis can you make a porno?
Delete^^^^ Some one getting harrased by millie the willie aka....el fayucon?
DeleteHollywood is run by coke heads or former coke addicts.
ReplyDeleteHollywood is runned by dope of all types. Not just coke. all sorts of drugs including Pills and Shrooms. Get it right
DeleteThan the movie should work just fine
DeleteI don't think La Barbie is movie worthy, or maybe he is idk.. But there are more intresting narcos I would rather see in the big screen..
ReplyDeleteI agree.. Strange choice... I would think El Chapo would be the one everyone would want to see a movie about
DeleteLike the Narco Jrs of the 80s and 90s working under the Tijuana Cartel. Potray more the life of Benjamin and Ramon. The movie Traffic was not that focused on the real power of the Arellano Felix family.
DeleteThis^ a detailed movies about the arellano felix! Specially Ramon.. And I'm talking quality movie not that channel 52 crap lol
DeleteOr a movie about los beltran leyva.. A real insight
El chapo? Hes been in prison half his life and is gonna be there a few more decades what a boring movie that would be! Id rather see if one of Arturo Beltran at least it would have a real ending like a real life scarface hell yeah!
DeleteBeltrán Leyva? I admit that BLO has influence and power even more when Arturo was around but nothing compared to the empire los Aretes built from ground up in la Baja. From pushing tons on a weekly basis, political and international Mafia connection/influence, immense legitimate businesses to squads of elite trained hit men Beltran Leyva brothers were not even in the same weight scale as the Arellano Felix. CAF in their prime/golden years was the only cartel in the Americas pushing the most product over the border. Not only that, in Ensenada "El Mayel" was doing enormous lucrative automobile business deals with the Yakuza and Chinese Triads all under the approval of Benjamin. The US and Mx governments primarily the two big three agencies in the States knew that the Tijauana Cartel were the mega cartel of the millennium plus not to mention Chapo's singing and pointing out to the DEA the countless of pharmacies and money exchange houses in Tijuana as fronts for the Arellano family That is why that once all mighty cartel/company was sanctioned with top arrests with all the weight of the "American" law. But one thing is for sure Ramon Arellano and Arturo Beltran were real mafiosos with heart and balls of steel. El Comandante Mon going into infested enemy territory, rolling with just three unprepared hitmen to break of the head of a rival Mafia boss and Arturo returning shots to a whole Infantry of 200 Mexican marines with tanks and choppers.
DeleteHonestly no one fucken cares about CAF or Baja. That area is only good for spring break. Los Zetas & CDS are the cartel everyone like to read about all there crazy shit.
DeleteI'd love to see a movie about Z40...or even just find out any updates on him.
Delete9:28 Very nice. Good info on the insight of those SOB's..
Delete@9:28
DeleteYou got it spot on, Colores was a fucken psychopath. Seeing as you know a lot of info i'm assuming you've already read the blog made a few years back about a ex Tj Cartel sicario sharing his experiences in the mafia. That blog had some of the craziest stories in there.
You worse than those Chapo nut huggers the demonic AFO went out like all the other murdering narco criminal organizations eventually do just cause they shot back doesn't change the fact that they were nothing more than low life mid level dope dealers no where near the real power brokers
DeleteIf your going to make a movie about the mexican drug cartels make a movie about El Chapo Guzman or about the original Zetas .
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion Zetas don't deserve any type of recognition.. Those guys are true trash among them all..
DeleteM-1's crazy ass exploits would make some good movie material
DeleteYeah he was just sinnister and along with his coke, he was just wreckless.. Even in his pictures that man looks pure evil!
DeleteHope Salma hayek is on this movie ....then most def am watching it...btw did la barbie had an African american sicario working for him??? Denzel can playa him...a hit movie non the les....
ReplyDeleteCraig petties is probably who you are thinking about. Yeah that should be part of the movie as well . He fled to Mexico also and was captured. Now he is doing life
DeleteCRIAG Pettis got caught up with my roommate Carlos who is free today .If you guys knew half of what I know and seen.
DeleteI have a problem with Hunnam playing La Barbie not to knock Hunnam I think he's a good actor but Barbie spoke good Spanish not the best in his interrogation video you could tell he didn't speak perfect Spanish but he spoke it really well I don't think Hunnam can pull it off unless they just focus on Barbies early years in Texas? This needs to be a bilingual movie, the way The Bridge is on FX.
ReplyDeleteBoth of Barbie's parents were from México, his dad was from Sinatra and his mother was from Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, so he speaks good spanish. Barbie is the grandson of El Gitano Valdez a Sinaloan sicario who worked with Pedro Aviles in Sinaloa.
Delete* his dad was from Sinaloa.
Delete@5:24
DeleteExactly. It needs to be a bilingual movie. That's what I've been trying to say too.
14 indictments were unsealed today, all Zambada's indicted on each in San Diego and a total of 60 cockroaches were indicted altogether. ReplyDeleteAbout time their glory days ended... Lets see some Justice.
DeleteHope justice will be served swiftly and all are locked away for life without the possibility of parole.
DeleteLife in prison caged like a dog is not enough for all the shitbags. Hopefully the death penalty will apply, fuck Mexico's objections. The US will mete out American branded justice not the brand of Meixican "just us" that is; hands out and wads of hundred dollar bills. I hope they corner and kill the old man he is one POS killing machine.
DeleteThere will never be real justice until the politicians, authorities and government officials that co-operated with them for so many years on both sides of the border, get sentenced and put in jail for many years as well.
DeleteYepp. And all the dirty money they confiscate should go to the families they did harm to. like the orphans & all of that.
DeleteExactly!!!
DeleteStupid idea..the movie will make zero dollars and will be a bust! It will be on DVD and disappear into obscurity and only "cartel cheerleaders" on here would watch it!. No one in the U.S. knows who this piece of shit is...or cares!
ReplyDeleteEvery loser that listens to gangster rap all day will go and see it. America is filled with idiots like that.
DeleteLike losers tht listen 2 heavy metal or country music ain't gone go & c it!.. America full of idiots who are undercover racist!.. JaJaJa
DeleteGood actor.Shitty subject this guy was a looser as far as the streets is concerned.N he obviously had no loyalty. He lost Laredo for his bosses and then decided to turn on them n lost that war too.make a movie about how the cartels formed or Amado Carrillo even oziel cardenas
ReplyDeleteHe turned himself in because they were out too kill him.he made to many enemies, burning too many bridges. He was snitching on chapo's level once he got caught. around the same time he got caught, he wanted to make a movie of himself. He wasn't a mobb boss, he was just a burrero. Lame. Nothing to Bragg about. All that money he made and he cant spend it. Plus once these producers make that movie it's going to be 50'/. Exagerated. Might as well make onother fake corrido!!
ReplyDeleteAre you serious La barbie? What about Arturo beltran leyva who held up 200 marines for 2 hours in cuernavaca and died on his feet previously held a gunfight for 5 hours in Acapulco Guerrero and escaped and told barbie what to do?? Tony tormenta? Chapo Guzman ?? Z40? Nacho coronel? La barbie was most of the time a lieutenant of BL he was a cartel leader for 3-5 MONTHS.Because H was on him.
ReplyDeleteBecause La Barbie's story is the most interesting of all of them.
DeleteAn American by birth, winds up in the center of the transformation of the few established Mexican cartels into the dozens of more deadly mini-cartels that now haunt Mexico.
Someone here or on Forum said the GU and Los Abarcas in GRO are his offspring. It's true.
ou are partly correct, but Barbie was leading the los rojos for arutro,. Nava was the most trusted person to Arturo and took care of special executions..such as the beheading of the marines. rojos were Barbie. bitter enemies of GU. GU also began with los pelones, who also worked for Arturo. they both came from Sinaloa/arturo
DeleteNobody in Hollywood wants to make a movie about arturo. La barbie movie makes sense for Hollywood because he is a white American, just like the majority of the American people who will go see it
Delete7:23 of course they dont arturo was too ruthless ordering his men to decapited 12 military and video tape it. He killed Edgar Millan for ordering the arrest of his brother. In a convoy he intercepted Genaro Garcia Luna ,to assure him that if he didnt go along with the agreement he could easily be reached. He used a rocket launcher to blow up the plane where the secretaries of Felipe Calderon were traveling in.After the death of the" Boss of Bosses" the whole family of that marine that died was also massacred. A head of a rival was left as sacrifice on his tomb . La barbie fits in to the perception Hollywood wants to give off of drug traffickers. In reality the real bosses do some unimaginable stuff never done before thats why they stand as leaders /bosses.
DeleteWhat plane did he blow up, I've never heard of this. & who were the victims?
DeleteArturo Beltran boss of bosses in Mexico give me a fucking break.
DeleteSecretario de gobernacion ,Mouriño .
DeleteReply to 7:23am
DeleteLa barbie was not an American white. He was a Latino American. I guess if you consider him white American then all Latinos are now white Americans. Yes even the brown ones lol.
The only Latino thing about la barbie is his name. The guy definitely looks like a normal white American kid.
DeleteYeah like that playboy article about el gringo loco. That guy is insane
ReplyDeleteWho is that
DeleteLa Barbie report is getting more attention than Tuta report. Thats to show you the status level of Barbie a real Capo smuggling 130 million in Cocaine n Tuta a Amateur Capo smuggling Aguacates
ReplyDeleteThat was a dumb comment. Lol tuta has way more power than this barbie girl would even dream off. Tuta makes money in a lot of ways, making millions selling steel to china, drugs and
DeleteHow about $130 million, Tuta sucks he is the Sanford n Son of capos hahahaha
DeleteJuan García Abrego is an US citizen.
Yeah! Juan Garcia Abrego was born in Palomas, Texas, a small town in the Rio Grande Valley.
DeleteJan 16, 7:27pm
DeleteJuan Garcia Abrego is also registered as being born in Mexico but is not Enedina from the Arellano Felix also a U.S. citizen?
-Junius
la barbie was buying kilos in columbia for 2500.00 a kilo because of the volume he could move then he had american connections which eliminated middlemen, this fool was banking and still is banking...while you fools sit here and speak of crap you no nothing about la barbie is still moving multi ton loads into the US....this fool had laredo down and all the way to michigan...being incarcerated dont mean crap, and what cartel leader hasnt snitched.....name one
ReplyDeletemy friends brother actually went to the same Highschool with him for a time and knew him briefly through other people although they were not really friends. Always said he was an alright guy just a little quieter than what most would think and not some big shot all American school sports star like the media try's to make out.
ReplyDeleteI think they are blowing his story out of proportion a lot. While this guy is a drug lord/boss he still has no where near the same power or influence as say the REAL drug lords like the infamous Pablo Escobar or El Chapo. Those guys are SERIOUS drug lords and La Barbi isn't even in their league in terms of power. I think the main reason he gets so much attention is because he's still done better than most in the business and is American but he's still no El Chapo or Escobar.
ReplyDeleteAnd to all those hoping Hollywood won't ruin the movie and exaggerate or just fabricate most of it?....of course they will! they'll more than likely kill it and make La Barbi (Hunnam) some dual gun toting Rambo or something stupid.
If you are not in the drug game, you will never know how hard it is for an american to get to where he was, the guys in Mexico dont give the kind of power to Americans, they keep it in the family or with friends they grew up with, in Mexico. Dumbass
DeleteHe played in a league in Texas that yes he was all league but the tallest guy in that league was 5"10, mostly mexican Americans. So yes he was all league but the leauge was terrible. Still his upbringing was middle class and his parents won the Texas lottery. The fascinating with him is that he could have done a lot of things and he landed with the cartel.
ReplyDeleteHis parents never won the lottery and he only played football in high school.
DeleteAfter high school he started working with a local gang stealing pick up trucks at Mall Del Norte in Latedo, Tx and his life went to hell.
They group the high schools in Texas into districts for athletic and academic reasons, just like they would anywhere in the U.S. La
DeleteBarbie's school was probably in a all
Laredo district considering Laredo
has about 9 h.s.'s. The school's are
made-up of predominantly Mexican
American(Hispanic)students. The talent level of the football teams is not at the level of future N.F.L. and N.C.A.A. FBS( now playoffs). So it's safe to say that Barbie wasn't that good of a football player. However, La Barbie did become a heck of drug dealer.
They already made Narco Telenovelas on Telemundo, like El Senor De Los Cielos, and in Colombia they made one about Pablo Escobar, and others. Kate Del Castillo made one too and is about to make another about the Miami Florida drug trade from the 80s or 90s when it was a war zone.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming they are going to show his rise in the cartel with all the money, power, and women but will have a serious tone to it ultimately showing him hiding in Acapulco paranoid as hell until he gets arrested. I like the idea of this movie, well be similar to Blow.
ReplyDeleteWow money talks la barbie in prison smiling
ReplyDeleteThat movie he paid to have made a couple of years back was a video home movie very low budget narco movie with very poor acting terrible movies only for people who have a terrible taste in movies
ReplyDeleteJavier Bardem would make a great Arturo Beltran.
ReplyDeleteWhat would be great about this film is if it's accurate unlike most movies based on a "true story" I read it's loosely based on a rolling stone article which is skeptical. Barbie was moving weight for Arturo since the 90's
in 2012 I posted a post with tow combined articles on Craig Petties and the Memphis group. It is long and detailed
ReplyDeletelink here to post

Do u kno if barbie has any kids
DeleteHe has twin girls with fellow cartel member Carlos Montemayor's daughter whom he married at age 17. I do believe he has kids from another women.
DeleteNo,.. just a lot of nut huggers.wishing they did
DeleteChivis I'd like to hear your list of actors who'd play who in this movie
DeleteDoes anybody kno if he hss ever personally decapitated someone since he is the one that started all that
Deleteoh wow, I haven't thought about the actors. In reality competent actors can become the character without having to have to close resemblance, also makeup artist are incredible now.
DeleteSo it is my hope they will do justice to the story and not compromise the truth. With a project that includes the artists, writers and filmmaker mentioned I think it will be top notch.
BTW, amazingly, I can recommend the documentary "The Legend of shorty" chapo guzman
usually I find these projects boring, redundant or frustratingly out of bounds of truth. I can't watch a full film.
this one held my interest. it was mostly factual. and it had some new footage including that of inside the chapel of chapo's son. his son edgar is entombed inside. no press has every been allowed in, when edgars mother griselda heard of the press visit she sent people to get them out.
they also travel to chapos compound in the sierras. It was filmed a few months before his capture. ...nice timing and luck
all in all...except from a few unnecessary inclusions, I can recommend it.
has anybody ever seen this guys wifey or even have a pic of her? i was always curious to see what she looked like
DeleteI wonder if Barbie will get to see this in prison.
ReplyDeleteAnybody who makes a Cartel movie is crazy. Mexican Mafia guys killed a lady who was a consultant on American Me because they did not want the general public to know they existed.
ReplyDeleteWhen colors came out people shot eachother in the movie theater from rival gangs. Hope the same thing doesnt happen again.
Deleteeveryone called him barbie back in high school cause he came in one day with a perm...(as big hair was the style of the 80's)...he looked like a fucking woman...hence la barbie...not this good looks crap..his english sucked and he was a shitty football player...
ReplyDeleteDoes he evens speak english at all
DeleteI find it really hard to believe his english sucked especially for a fuy who was born on in laredo and lived in the US untill his early twenties. And he also had American associates while living in mexico and people said he would sometimes have meetings with them and they would speak only english.
DeleteMore filth glorified to American youth by "gods chosen people". Utterly disgusting.....
ReplyDeleteAnything that makes money will be looked up to
DeleteWell lets hope they get the right people for the roles not like that wirerd cuban looking pablo escobar from the movi BLOW
ReplyDeleteThat guy who played Pablo Escobar in blow is actually from New Zealand. He plays a lot of mexican roles(gangsters). He's been in training day with Denzel Washington and most recent in the tv show gang related as Javier Acosta.
Deletei hope its not too americanized. la barbie despite being a blonde spoke fluent spanish. they better make jax teller speak spanish in that movie.
ReplyDeletei also get the concerns of some people who said its glorifying cartel lifestyle. sure but if you do the film the right way, it can serve as warning and deterent that even though its nice to live the cartel life, it wont last and you either end up dead or in jail.
they should end the movie showing how la barbie lives his life in prison.
tell the story.
show the flash, the money, the women, the violence...
but dont forget to tell the story. especially how it ends. with la barbie living a miserable life in a maximum security prison.
El Gitano left sinaloa to the murderers of the boss, Pedro Aviles, he did not want to associate with the sick greedy bitches working for the DFS like miguel angel felix gallardo, don neto carrillo fuentes, el azul, rafael caro quintero, the guadalajara cartel from sinaloa at the beck and call of the CIA and he DFS since the late sixties, it is a pitty that his grandson came back to deal with the heirs of those brokeback bitches...
ReplyDelete--the mexican government divided and defeated the mexican capos for all the marbles, now they can work for the US presidential candidates raising money to launder from drug trafficking...
Mfs all on here talkin bout its wrong 2 glorify the cartel lifestyle!.. But Hollywood is built off glorifyin drugs, rape, murder, & a number of acts of violence!. ReplyDelete"He is also fascinated by the world of show business, and often frequented the glitzy bars and discos of Mexico City, Acapulco, and Cuernavaca in the company of stars. His ego is so big that his lawyer— who later became a protected witness for the Mexican state under the codename Jennifer 26 —told how the hit man ordered a film to be made of his life with the actor Sergio Mayer, son-in-law of businessman Jaime Camil, who has also been linked to drug trafficking.
ReplyDeleteThe alleged biopic was complacently titled Brazo Armado (Armed Wing). In spite of this information, the PGR never issued an arrest warrant for the powerful businessman’s son-in-law—even though much lesser allegations by Jennifer have put several public officials behind bars."

Beltran Leyvas need a movie, Arellano Felixes need a movie, Guero Palma Caro Quintero they all need a movie.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Mexican films are 'The Magnificent Seven' and 'Kings of the Sun'. Yul Brenner playing lead roles in both. Maybe Charlie Hunnam will shave his head for the 'El Barbie' role.
ReplyDeleteWhy not make a movie about the death of Kiki Camarena?
ReplyDeleteDo not ask why we are so fucked up with drug cartels violence...Hollywood and all the idiots (like the ones giving kudos to these criminals in this page) are responsible for the culture of violence that we are having in Mexico.
ReplyDeleteGo to any small town in Mexico and you can see youngsters imitating the buchones who control vasts parts of Mexico...corridos songs, books, myths, and all that BS makes them think that that is the right path.
We deserved it, we really deserve to live in this misery until somebody wakes up and takes over the country.
Chivis, thought you were gone nice to still see you around.
