Ciuadad Juarez, Chih - A former Juárez police officer was arrested Monday morning at a Mexican army checkpoint where he was found allegedly transporting 4.5 tons of marijuana, Joint Operation Chihuahua officials said.
Jose Luis Parra Barragan claimed that he was carrying a shipment of milk in a cargo truck when he pulled up to checkpoint near Samalayuca south of Juárez.
Officials said an inspection found 57 bundles of marijuana inside the truck, which had been reported stolen.
