I've heard a persona...Very interesting article. I've heard a personal anecdote about a doctor who was kidnapped in Juarez and held for ransom... According to the person who told me this story, the family of the Doctor paid his ransom and he was returned unharmed... But soon afterward he began leaving suddenly in the middle of the night, often he was gone for hours or even a day or two. When he came back, he wouldn't say where he was or what he was doing.<br /><br />The person who related this to me said they suspect the doctor was.<br /><br />1. Extorted for ransom money<br />2. Once the kidnappers had the money, they gave him the choice 'Plata o Plomo' in regards to accepting employment from these people to provide clandestine medical service (Hint - it wasn't a request, they knew where he and his family lived.)<br /><br />Again, just an anecdote, I can't verify all of this...
