Now we know, NO ONE in politics is involved with Cartels, right? (think of the dude sneaking in so he could get sworn in so he could avoid prosecution), so the bottomline is that EVERYONE is involved. Watch the movie SHOOTER, when Wahlberg burns the tape recorder and the FBI agent tells him what are you doing, that`ll prove your innocent? His response: Nobody is innocent, this stuff like plutonium, it`ll get you killed. Kinda like being in Mexico, it`s like plutonium. question is, who gets killed first and by which party?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5195137745759962560.post-49136471021078422062011-04-15T09:30:53.769-06:002011-04-15T09:30:53.769-06:00DFL, you should be the one to speak about blowhard...DFL, you should be the one to speak about blowhards here on BB???___ lol. Maybe if they had given their police force good incentive and to fight like good pay and generous bonuses and harsher methods (like shooting first rather than trying to arrest) then they would not have been as liable to turn corrupt then that way Mexico would have had a stronger more reliable force to fight the cartels without having to worry who might shoot you during a shootout: one of the cartel guys or the crooked cop behind you who's supposed to have your back.

There is no law and there is not quality of life now out there, all that is evil seems to prevail while peaceful folk die just so some asshole drug baron can live a life of luxury.

Satan has a strong hold on Mexico and there ain't nothing anyone can do about it and it slowly creeping into America.

R.I.P. The arrests were made immediately before national and state of Michoacan elections, where Calderon and his PAN Party were falling rapidly in popularity as is still the case until this very day. In other words, the arrests had more to do with partisan politics than they did with any legal merits.

The judge ultimately seems to have dismissed the charges because of that, or at least due to partisan manipulations behind the scenes... this being Mexico, though much the same occurs constantly inside the US as well on politicized issues. In either case, Calderon had no national consensus to go after the 12 mayors and others as he did. He really has no multi party support inside Mexico for much of what he is doing, his firm support coming mainly from outside the country with the US government pushing for their Made by the US 'drug war'.

Below is reportage from May, 2009 when the arrests occurred...

'Massive drug sweep in Michoacán strikes PRD hardest
In an unprecedented operation, federal police and the Army arrested
30 state and local officials in Michoacán for giving protection to the
La Familia cartel. Those arrested included ten mayors (6 from the
PRI, 2 PRD, and 2 PAN), a judge, and several police chiefs.

The most prominent state official arrested was Citlalli Fernández, the
former Secretary of Public Security of the state and close advisor to
Governor Leonel Godoy. The arrests were a deep blow to the PRD,
which views Michoacán as one of its key bastions.

Godoy was not given any advance notice of the sweep; only the next day did Government Secretary Fernando Gómez Mont state clearly that neither Godoy nor his predecessor, Lazaro Cárdenas Batel, was a target.
PRI and PRD leaders met urgently with Gómez Mont the next day.

PRD party president Jesús Ortega said, “We made clear to the Sec-
retary that the PRD will not allow an issue of such importance as
public security ... to be used for electoral purposes.”

This was the
first time during the Calderón government that PRD leaders have
visited the Ministry of Government offices.
