Four Men Detained During Ovidio Guzman's Arrest Are Released

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

After a judge ruled that the arrests of four of the 17 people arrested during the detention of Ovidio Guzmán were considered "illegal", they were released.

Although the Control Judge argued for the release of the four subjects, it is not known that there were no further details on how the illegality of the arrests was determined.

However, the other 13 people were charged and are now behind bars, according to the Attorney General's Office.

It should be recalled that the arrest of the 18 people, including Ovidio Guzmán, took place on January 5, following an armed attack between them and members of the National Guard.

In addition, in recent days, Chapo Guzmán's son assured "I am not the person they think, that the United States is demanding today", to which the president of the republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, said that these were 'dilatory practices', which are aimed at delaying the extradition of the inmate.

  3. Not a good sign. When cartel members are released because their arrest was "illegal' it is usually due to some undue influence, not the illegality of their arrest.

  4. You know AMLO called out the mexican judges who un-froze Genaro Garicias wife bank accounts after he was found guilty. The mainstream media outlets stayed real quiet about it. Maybe I missed it, but I don't think I came accross an article on BB. That's some bullshit though. Think about it, a lot of regulars come on here talking about how bad of a job AMLO is doing not realizing that being a president is not an easy task to take on especially after you've had 5 previous administrations who ran the country to the floor.

    1. 7:37 But yet ALMO is very soft with the cartels, he already had many years to show something for quelling the rampant cartel violence, not much, let's just blame the previous administrations. He has about a year left.

    2. That’s because solecito prendido is biased against amlo and has gone with the lazy mainstream PRI/PAN/PRD native of him being a communist dictator. Sol alone has destroyed the respected image BB once had during his tenure as an admin. Get him out.

    3. Thx for the link, did also not see something about her accounts. Just that they will decide after he is sentenced.
807, its not a sprint its long term effort, something americans cant understand with their current mindset.

    4. 807 Mexicos problem is a lot more complex than what you get a face value. Bullshit aside, you would need to take a college history course on Mexico to understand the complex dynamics of what its facing today. AMLO refers back to the previous administrations to highlight the flaws in their approach and how it corrupted Mexico. Mexico now has a societal problem stemming from political corruption that goes far beyond the 5 previous administrations. We can't even begin to scratch the surface but let's just say the strategy of "abrazos no balazos" was setting the stage for the second part of his strategy, which is what we're seeing during the second part of his term.

    5. 11:22 Sol is allowed to give his opinion on things, just because you love ALMO, and would kiss his feet, don't mean the rest of us have to agree with you.
ALMO time is running out, and we all know he has done, jack sheet on cartel violence, did you forget the 35,000 that died to homicides in Mexico for 2022, you sure can't hide that under the rug.
By the way are you a paid ALMO internet influencer?

    6. 11:22 more people died during the Obama days

    7. Of the 35k that died last year what percentage of those were innocent victims, what percentage where cartel affiliated, what percentage where domestic violence? I'm willing to bet the large majority of those homicides were cartel on cartel violence. I've said in the past, if sicarios are killing eachother hopefully they kill each other off into extinction. It doesn't matter if it's 10k, 35k or 100k, as long as it's criminals dying, it's OK.

As far as you believing AMLO has been soft on cartels, well that's where your wrong. Confrontations between the government and cartels has never stopped, as a matter of fact it's only increased.

Santa Rosa de Lima was first to get hit with the capture of El Marro, His dad, Cousin and a whole bunch of other criminals. It's safe to say that cartel or what's left of it is pretty much done.

La Nueva Plaza was hit next as they only had a few leaders. "EL Cholo was killed, el tiburon surrendered and El 85 was captured. Nueva Plaza is now Noticia vieja.

Then you had the capture of Cartel independiente de Colima leader, La Vaca. That cartel or splinter of CJNG is eliminated. Colima is split between 2 cartels.

Then you have the capture of of Huevo Trevino who's cartel has been struggling to gain traction. As a matter of fact, BB will provide us with an article of how the government slaughtered a bunch of their sicarios in 3, 2, and....

Now let's take a look at what cartels have been hit. For CDS we have RCQ, Ovidio, El Omega, El Lupe and his son and a shitload of labs and seizures. There was also an operation for El Guano but he was able to escape. His fate will be of that of Ovidio.

CJNG has also been hit, a lot of Menchos inlaws are in jail. His wife was arrested and rearrested, his son was extradited and his daughter served her time. There's been several operations against CJNG with the first major one targeting Menchos daughter Laquisha and her Boyfriend after her mom was arrested and them soldiers captured. Then we had the operation against RR and El Apa where the two were able to get away and the one in the town where Menchos supposed hospital is located.

La Familia Michoacana has also been significantly hit, they are not as strong as they once were. The government has also attempted to capture El Pez and La Fresa but they have managed to get away. It's just a matter of time.

As far as the government goes well the corrupt Policia Federal led by the corrupt Genaro Garcia was disbanded. The 40k employees under that agency were absorbed by the new agency, La Guardia Nacional. GN Personnel went from 40k to 120k and where do you station 120k GN soldiers? Well AMLO had the army build close to 300 barracks and an estimated 600 to be completed by the end of his term.

Now for you to dismiss everything I mentioned as "AMLO has done nothing to stop the violence" is either foolish or ignorant. You can sit here and lie to yourself, or believe what you want, but the facts are there. Don't believe me? I encourage you to fact check everything I mentioned using the BB search bar... and for you to call me a "paid influencer" is not just an insult to me but to the BB staff aswell as I'm sure they share their time to provide us with facts, information and articles at no cost.

A paid internet influencer by the republic government of Mexico.
      Has an answer for everything.
What's the answer , that fentanyl made in Mexico labs, does not come from Mexico as Lopez O. states?

    9. 9:56 yup a paid AMLO influencer. All those "logros" by this administration but the one that really counts, citizens safety and peace, worse than in the two prior administrations. What a phony lengua larga llorón Andrés Manuel López Hablador has turned out to be...

    11. More people have died with fox, peña nieto, salinas, calderon but you know why they don’t say it because they payed millions to the news to report that everything is going well. López has been doing a great job but mexico is not going to change right away they need to get all them corrupted judges out.

    12. 2:53 AMLOs presidential term ends on 10/01/24. He's got 18+ months left. According to what you have written here and in previous comments AMLOs going to attack all cartels and weaken them as much as possible. We'll see. I'll even acknowledge the good actions/accomplishments.
My question to you is will those actions resuscitate the innocents that were killed and return the desaparecidos? His legacy will have to include the bad just as he likes to harp on prior presidentes.
You haven't authored your comments yet. I want to know who I'm interacting with. Put any name and hopefully I'm wrong if it's for the betterment of México.

    1. That iss ovidio. But he's right, he's not who they're pointing him out to be. He just got painted like a chapo guzman , but he's not. He just happened to move the wrong drug. And the US gov is after those distributors. They go after and always paint the bad guy as whoever they have the most evidence against. But there are much bigger sharks under the sea that have yet to be seen/discovered. The mini lic and lic rolling on ovidio post had me like? I saw this guy at a party before. Yes he had his people, he's chapo's son, he has to. But he actually stayed lowkey and HE went around saying hi to everyone, not the other way around. He was well known in the town as one of the nicest people. Him hitting guacho with a bat, not true. He just trafficked. The Lic's just wanted to burn these guys to the max because of the turnout that that guzman were after them and lic's realized they lost.
