Ex-Cartel Smuggler Explains Life Inside Tijuana's Narco Death Zone | Fernando Puente

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Fernando Puente grew up living between the US / Mexico border in the worst parts of Tijuana, and by the age of 18, he was already crossing immigrants over the US border illegally for one of Mexico's most notorious cartels.

Today, Fernando writes stories and hosts his own podcast ElBordoMx with the aim to inspire & give hope to the disadvantaged youth in Mexico.

  3. From what I can tell, he’s describing the years around Inge, Gordo Villarreal, and Los Talibanes/Escamilla and the Luz Verde indictment in 2010 from San Diego

    He’s from Palm City?

It doesn’t help that the interviewer doesn’t really have a grasp of any of this

    Secular subject that it is

    1. That’s because everything is for views and the money they make from it. I’m sure the Interviewer could care less about this guy.
