Rincón de Romos, Aguascalientes: The FGE Raided a CJNG Safe House

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

The State Attorney General's Office, in the municipality of Rincon de Romos, located and searched the safe house where members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) filmed a video in which they denounced the existence of the so-called "Ministerial Policemen Cartel", formed by members of the Investigation Police.

During the operation at the country estate, located on the outskirts of the community of El Saucillo, to the north of the municipal capital of Rincon de Romos, no people were reported detained.

It appears that on Friday, February 3 of this year, a video was recorded at the safe house by alleged members of the CJNG, who, hooded and carrying long firearms, denounced the existence of the "Ministerial Cartel" and made threats against members of the Investigative Police.

The dissemination of the video prompted the Control Organ of the State Attorney General's Office to initiate an investigation to determine whether the elements mentioned in the video were indeed involved in organized crime.

At the same time, the FGE itself conducted an investigation and was able to locate the CJNG members' safe house where they filmed the video, through the Public Prosecutor's Office it processed and obtained a search warrant.

On the morning of Thursday, February 9, investigative agents, with the support of elements of the State Police and the National Guard, carried out a search of the safe house, where no one was found.

The country house, painted in white, is "equipped" with solar panels, a swimming pool, green areas, barbecue grills, palm trees, etc.

It was even reported that the property was offered for rent to the public as a place to rest.

The Attorney General's Office did not disclose the results of the operation.

  2. They may have rented the house only to shoot the video. It might not be a safe house for other activities.

  3. Instead of raiding safe houses, how about they start raiding safe towns and locking them all up
