'Lupe' Tapia Indicted

The Attorney General's Office (FGR), obtained the indictment against Lupe Tapia, arrested on February 9 in the Tacuichamona syndicate, for his probable responsibility in the commission of crimes against health and possession of weapons for the exclusive use of the Army.


Tapia Quintero, considered one of Mayo Zambada's main operators, is accused of crimes against health in the modality of possession for commercial purposes in the form of sale; aggravated possession of a firearm, possession of magazines and cartridges, all of which are for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.


According to the FGR, Lupe Tapia was arrested with 1,196 cartridges, eight magazines; three kilos 531.4 grams of cocaine hydrochloride and two kilos 059.2 grams of piperidamine, a substance considered as a precursor and narcotic, as well as a scale, 10 cell phones and a communication radio.


During the initial hearing, the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF), assigned to the Specialized Unit for the Investigation of Crimes against Health, presented the arguments that were sufficient and convincing for the judge to grant the indictment, to impose as a precautionary measure the official preventive detention in the CEFERESO 1 Altiplano in Almoloya, Juarez, State of Mexico, and three months for the complementary investigation.
