Córdoba, Veracruz: Policewoman Vanessa Torres Galván Kidnapped, Raped, And Mutilated

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

The body of Vanessa Torres, a policewoman kidnapped in Cordoba, Veracruz, was found with obvious signs of violence after being abducted.

The body of Vanessa Torres Galán, a member of the State Police kidnapped yesterday in Córdoba, Veracruz, was found with signs of torture on Wednesday

Because of the viciousness with which the officer who was kidnapped yesterday in the streets of this municipality was murdered, her colleagues demand that her case be investigated and punished with the aggravating circumstance of femicide.

Last Tuesday morning, there was a shooting that resulted in the kidnapping of two policemen, a man and a woman. They were guarding the home of the head of the Women's Institute when they were forced into a vehicle by armed men.

Yesterday, his companion was found dead and bound inside a CRV pickup truck in the community of La Luz Palotal, Cordoba.

Early this morning, the body of the officer of the Secretary of Public Security (SSP) based in the Single Command of Cordoba, was found among some cane fields located next to the Unidad Habitacional Las Flores, in the municipality of Fortin.

She was found with traces of torture, signs of rape and mutilated breasts. Her own colleagues recognized her, which has caused indignation among the police sector in Veracruz and other states.

Her colleagues have denounced the treatment given to the officer by the criminals and because she was violated for "the simple fact of being a woman", they demand that the case be investigated, typified and punished as femicide, referring that her gender was an aggravating factor in degrading her.

In WhatsApp groups, on social networks and in person, the request to the state government is to receive exemplary punishment for the loss of the two officers, especially for the young woman from Agua Dulce, a municipality located in the south of Veracruz.

"Vanessa Torres Galán is the name of the member of the State Police of Veracruz who was kidnapped by an armed criminal cell in Córdoba, Veracruz (...) She was raped, her two breasts were amputated, and she was executed with gunfire.

"After all that infamous torture, the question is: Why is it that there are no Human Rights there, at what point have Human Rights manifested in favor of her, is it that Human Rights only defend criminals, kidnappers, hitmen, bosses, money collectors, rapists, shooters, spies, etc., etc., etc.? Let's make it viral", is the repeated message.

In August 2011, the local Congress approved the reform that identifies the crime of femicide in Veracruz with a penalty of between 40 and 70 years in prison for those who commit it, as well as sanctions for public servants who neglect women's complaints, ranging from disqualification to imprisonment.

The Governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García, confirmed the death of the officer and indicated that three alleged suspects have been arrested in the confrontation with law enforcement officers in Orizaba.

"Things are now calm in (Cordoba), under control, but the police operations continues," he said at a press conference on Wednesday.

  1. This is a sad case. This happens all the time to civilians and nothing is done, the police don’t even take it seriously and now it’s happened to one of their own, they wish to get something done.

    2. 09:57 how would you know? Are you referring to “in general globally” or “in Mexico”!or “in Veracruz” or “Cordoba//Orizaba” as it correlates to the article above?

I’m just curious. I’m not from there and don’t know much about real life or operations // gang mafia cartel thug // police government stuff situation structure issues politics etc. and want to learn more.

      Thx 🙏
I find it repulsive and disturbing to see people who are just mutilated and for no apparent reason. Usually from what I read on this site the good people who are not in the prison cartel snitch informant terror mafia thug gang are the victims of senseless brutality and hatred.

I didn’t know about the femicide laws in Mexico. I don’t understand Mexico. The government allows this stuff every where it seems or is ineffective in stopping mass violence and really what looks like terrorism and demonic cult practices and control of uneducated peasants who farm lines.

I am more familiar with US government policies, procedures, and laws. I don’t know if the US or Canada have harsher penalties for murdering woman? Or woman police? And do the law apply to transgender LGBTQ 🏳️‍🌈 as well?

In addition, I understand the outrage of what happened by her fellow officers, but it seems like a light sentence for murder rape etc on a police person… only 40-60 years on the account it’s a woman not man cop WTF

Then men cops are valued less than women and if you murder a man cop you get what ? 4-24 years??

I’m not criticizing or making fun about the situation or government of Mexico, but I think this case is weird.

    7. I get your point, but don't forget that if police are being targeted like this it will make it much less likely they will act when it does happen to civilians, which was surely at least one reason it was done in the first place. Attack on Police is an attack on the states ability to protect the innocent. And all they are doing is showing solidarity on social media, which they also do when civilians are killed.

  2. Will action be taken , why not wipe out the criminal gang that did it?
They know the turf, they create crime in.

    1. 10:39 right I wanna know too! Like, I don’t understand how stuff works there. So, if there is a mafia criminal cartel or group of cartels operating there and they are responsible for murder femicide in this incident, who are they and why did they do this?

      If not, who is responsible?

Such wickedness. If the locals were bribed into something why do this to her? If they know who why don’t the Mexican government do something about it. Don’t they have Federales or something like the FBI DoJ stuff there for their investigation into crimes??

And how big is Cordoba? I’m on Google Maps and it looks small, how can someone be hard to find or respond to the perpetrator of femicide on an officer.

Really fucked up. Made me sick

    2. 11:17 Looks like you are figuring out a non realistic scenario boy.

    3. 11:40 such a dumb un-realistic comment. You should re-read the article and offer a good comment.
A good not curupt agency, should develop Intel on who did it, which criminal group did it, otherwise killings will continue, 11:17 has good viewpoints. Others like 11:40 want the killings to continue and no one to do nothing about it.

    4. 1:14 Want killings to continue?, not even close kid.

    5. 11:17 Poor point of view. And involvement with criminals is a common thing for some cops. This happened for a reason.

    6. 2:17 you never know. This cop could have been given the "Plata or Plomo" deal as well.
She could have refused and being a female got raped and mutilated instead.
Don't assume shit. Narco pieces of shit do this to anyone one they want to.

      Delete
    7. 3:21 When you dont take a bribe or try to be "honest", they just kill you, plain and simple.

When they torture, and let everyone know, MOST of the times is for specific reasons and for the message they need to send, not just a random killing for random reasons.

Looks like you are the one assuming senseless shit.

  5. A woman is law enforcement in Mexico, is treated very bad, with their peers and with the criminals. I bet you when they do catch the killers, they will only serve 7 years.
A police woman in the Tijuana Municipal Police, a male policeman, attempted to rape, she had said no, he got abusive, and fear for her life he killed him with her service weapon.
The Mexican Court found her guilty and sentenced her to 40 years in prison. Laws in Mexico are laughable.

    2. What's up with Veracruz?? Didn't BB post an article a while back on a criminal group stealing gasoline... Linked to a town near Cordoba Veracruz Veracruz Mexico?

I wonder if this is the same unidentified criminal cell responsible for the femicide incident. What happened to Zetas ? They all dead? They in Cordoba? They specifically didn't mention any Cartel name like CJNG or anything

      I dont

    3. 8:33:
The Zetas splintered into various groups. The two biggest groups are the Northeast Cartel and the Old School Zetas.
CJNG released a video last year that was posted on BB. They identify Chivo Vasquez as one of the main CDS leaders in the Papaloapan Basin.

    2. Do anyone here live in Mexico? I was listening to some dope Latin House music from CDMX Mexico City DJs….

Do they have any cool rave scenes still that are safe??! Events?

Cozumel, Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Isla de Mujeres, and Isla de La Muerte are too overplayed and dangerous to go raving and clubbing hard for a week straight….

Ibiza has not been the same for a while since COVID-19 struck. I never made it to the UK. Ukraine is being bombed and St Petersburg Russia is closed for business.

Is it still kickin in Krakow - Amsterdam - or Athens?! Tel Aviv - The Sahara?!

I need a vacation and a liter of mojitos

    4. 8:12 Got you. Some of us live of go to Mexico on a regular basis.

There are cool rave events and are relatively safe if you dont do stupid stuff.

Best events in Mexico for DJ's can be found mostly in #1 Tulum, #2 Playa del Carmen / Cancun area # 3 Ciudad Juarez (check up coming events of Hard Pop club) # 4 Guadalajara / Ciudad de Mexico also have good events.

Dont play stupid, dont go to after-parties with unknown people. Dont go alone. Stick to another tourists. Thats enough to stay safe.

Honest cops don't want to have dirty hands.
They don't join in, they get killed.
No one is going to do nothing about it.
It will go to the back burner.
Just like the US citizen that went to a restaurant with her future wife, along with 2 others disappeared with no trace.
