Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas: Mexican Federal Forces Fight Against Northeast Cartel

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

A video is making the rounds online in which Sedena troops can be seen in hot pursuit chasing an armored truck. The vehicle fleeing is allegedly manned by members of the Tropa del Infierno (CDN).

The armored pickup allowed the gunmen to continue firing even when surrounded. A well executed move by the army elements rammed the truck off the road to continue the confrontation without putting them at risk.

This broadcast was recorded at 16:26 on November 11, 2021.

On November 12, a series of confrontations were reported in the municipality of Nuevo Laredo, in which, according to reports from police sources, there are at least seven dead.

Conditions of high risk have been recorded from Wednesday to Thursday night, in which the Mexican Army has intervened.

In the clashes, armed men dressed in fake military uniforms launched several attacks against law enforcement agencies.

Local citizens disseminated alerts and comments about violent acts that have spread through several districts with persecutions and shootings.

"El Chiricuazo" by El Makabelico is the name of the song that plays throughout the duration of this video.

    1. The song is pro Cartel del Noreste. I think the soldiers added the song to mock them as the sicarios were being slaughtered.

  9. Why do they ride around vulnerable in thin-skinned Toyotas? I'm sure the US would gift them up-armored Humvees if requested.

    1. SEDENA doesn't ride around in Toyota Tundra as they don't have a contract with manufacturer and they would be more expensive. Those are Cheyennes/Silverados very likely manufactured in México and they aren't mechanically stock. I wouldn't be surprised if the front part of the cabin is hardened and also the windshield in newer models as this maneuver of ramming enemy combatants apparently is more frequently used. When dealing with bulletproof vehicles they will use the SandCat to immobilize and light that shit up if resistance continues. The two visible rifles are FX 05 Xiuhcoatl 5.56NATO that are domestically produced.
