4 CJNG Members Arrested For Veracruz Massacre That Left 9 Dead

"HEARST" for Borderland Beat

Four alleged members of the Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) were arrested for their alleged involvement in the recent massacre of the nine individuals in the southern part of the state of Veracruz. Two properties were also raided and seized by authorities because they are suspected of having been used during the interrogation and execution.

The Announcement

On January 10, 2022, the Attorney General for the state of Veracruz, Verónica Hernández Giadáns announced that 4 people have been arrested based on their suspected involvement in the CJNG video interrogation and subsequent execution that left nine dead.

Alleged photo related to the arrest of the 4 detainees.

The Attorney General’s announcement of the detainees came during the state’s security coordination table meeting. The arrest of the four suspects was carried out within the municipality of Tres Valles, which is close to Isla municipality, where the nine bodies were discovered.

She also announced that after the state Attorney General’s Office (FGE) got a judge to approve a search warrant, two properties were raided.

The raids were conducted by a joint team of investigators of the FGE and soldiers from the Army (SEDENA). Attorney General Hernández Giadáns said that "I report that the place where the abducted victims were held was likely located." She added that the two properties were seized and will be investigated for further evidence.

Quick Review

As previously covered on Borderland Beat by Sol Prendido, on January 7, 2022,  nine naked human remains were discovered on a highway in Isla, in the southern part of the state of Veracruz. All nine bodies were said to show evidence of torture.

The green narco message sign left alongside the bodies read, as translated by Sol:

Erick Cisneros Burgos, government secretary for the state of Veracruz.

Here líes your mob. Carry on supporting the Cartel de Sinaloa and the Chivo Vasquez gunmen. Julian Alvarez Vallejo, Pablo Mendoza, and Gallero. You backstabbing bitch. You're all next. We've left all your scumbags here for you guys. Erick Cisneros Burgos, this is so that you can see that in the Papaloapan basin the 4 letters cartel (CJNG) is in charge here. So, don't bother fucking up out here.

Sincerely,

4 letters

There was also a video released by the CJNG which showed all nine kidnapping victims prior to execution. In the footage, the abductees are interrogated for details about their alleged involvement with the Sinaloa Cartel (Cártel de Sinaloa, CDS).

One of the abductees alleges that the Secretary of Public Security, Hugo Guiterrez Maldonado, was trying to avoid colluding with CDS. He then goes on to say that on the other hand that his uncle, the Secretary of the Government, Erick Cisneros Burgos was happily aiding and abetting CDS in gaining government support and expanding their Veracruz operation.

    1. Initially I thought they executed 2 women but after taking a closer look the third male victim on the last picture looks a little on the feminine side. I'm assuming it's the same person laying next to the girl in the fourth picture.

  4. So I counted about 17 sicarios and only 4 were caught. Looks like 13 are still roaming amongst the public.

    1. They weren't Sicarios, probably just low level family members bullied into using their homes to hold the captives. More to the point, there are 10 captives in the video, only nine bodies found? Either the one at the front was released because hes more valuable alive, or they kept him for now.

    1. 9 hapless criminals snatched up in front of their families and tortured by a bunch of brutalised bastards would not make a good Hollywood movie. Or any kind of movie.
