"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

A federal judge sentenced Roberto Martínez Morales or Juan Antonio Gómez Hernández, El Jorge, who was part of the Arellano Félix brothers' cartel to 158 years eight months in prison.

The function of this person was to participate in kidnappings, take care of the victims, in addition to supervising the marijuana plants that they had in safe houses for later sale.

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO), with support from the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Regional Control (FECOR) of the Attorney General's Office (FGR), accused him of organized crime, illegal deprivation of liberty, against health, collection of firearms for exclusive use, simple homicide and injury.

On August 30, 2012, he was sentenced for several crimes, however, the Second Unitary Court of the Second Circuit revoked that sentence and ordered the reinstatement of the procedure.

Afterwards, the Second District Judge of Federal Criminal Procedures in the State of Mexico, convicted him of organized crime crimes (anti-health and kidnapping modalities); illegal deprivation of liberty (in the form of kidnapping in grievance of five victims), against health (in the form of possession of the narcotic called marijuana for trafficking purposes); collection of firearms for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.
