Jesús G. is pointed out as one of the main generators of violence in Zamora, Michoacán

Military personnel moved to the area after receiving the report of the presence of an armed subject, who after being requested, was learned that he had an arrest warrant in force for the crime of homicide, in this region.

"El Nopal" is also identified as an alleged member of the criminal group United Cartels, considered one of the main generators of violence in Zamora.

Just last Wednesday, Governor Silvano Aureoles Conejo held a meeting with the Coordination Table for Peacebuilding in Michoacán, where it was agreed to intensify and strengthen security actions in the Zamora region.

The Michoacán president said that they will not allow criminal cells to take over the territory, "we will work hard to change the scenario of the area."

The working group mentioned that, until that time, in three days of operations, four alleged members of criminal cells had been captured, in addition to the securing of a vehicle related to illegal actions and two searches in buildings allegedly related to criminal acts.

The Zamora region is one of the most violent not only in Michoacán, but throughout the country. The Citizen Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice reported that in 2020 there were 181 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants, which placed it in first place with respect to this indicator.

One of the most recent actions was the arrival on June 17 of 1,500 elements of the National Guard and the Ministry of National Defense to implement surveillance operations not only in Zamora, but in the surrounding municipalities of Jacona, Chiavinda, Tingüindín and Tangancícuaro.

In Jacona alone, during the month of July two clandestine graves were located within 24 hours, with the remains of 16 people.
