Mexico City: Two Colombians and Mexican National Linked to Drugs and Extortion

 "Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Two Colombian citizens and a Mexican national were arrested for allegedly being involved in the borrowing of money with excessive interest charges, known as "drop by drop."

The events occurred today when officers carrying out cabinet and field research work on the Eje 1 Norte realized that the two passengers of a gray luxury vehicle had in their possession drug balls, such as those used for the distribution of narcotics.

"When faced with the possible commission of a crime, the police approached the subjects to whom they mentioned that they would carry out a preventive review according to the protocols of police action. Which resulted in the seizure of 60 plastic bags containing marijuana. The SSC personnel carried out the arrest of the men of 22 and 25 years of age, who said they were Colombian citizens," the capital's Police reported.

At that time a woman arrived at the place, who offered cash to the SSC troops, in exchange for the release of the young individuals. However, the officers refused and also arrested the 34-year-old.

The three detainees were read their legal rights and presented, along with the vehicle and the drugs, to the corresponding agent of the Public Ministry who will determine their legal status.

It is worth mentioning that, according to information obtained, the men and women are possibly related to cash loans to citizens, from whom they demand fees as payment. In case of non-compliance, they are physically and verbally assaulted.

This modus operandi is known as drop by drop. In addition, it was later learned that the tags were reported stolen from another vehicle.

    7. In my opinion Mexico is the kidnapping capital of the world. Statistically, it may be another country, but in Mexico, a lot of crimes are misclassified as "missing" "disappeared" "ranaway" etc. Just like car accident deaths were classified as "Covid-19" deaths in 2020 in America. Just my 2cents
