Caborca, Sonora: The Gente Nueva del Cazador Torch Las Palapas

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

A new video from the Mexican underworld has just surfaced. For this broadcast hitmen for ‘La Gente Nueva del Cazador’ film themselves burning a place down known as ‘Las Palapas’. A property that they claim belongs to a relative of Rafael Caro Quintero.

Humberto Limón Lopez, ‘El Cazador’ is the one who leads ‘La Gente Nueva’, the armed wing of the Sinaloa Cartel for Los Chapitos. They are the individuals who dispute control of this territory with ‘La Barredora 24/7'.

Video translation is as follows:

Sicario #1: Ok, let’s start destroying this fucking place. Let’s go, start destroying everything in sight.

Sicario #2: Burn it all down. Burn it all the fuck down. Burn everything, everything. Burn it all the fuck down.

Sicario #1: Wait just a bit men. Don’t unleash gunfire yet because I’m going to throw some fuel here. Wait a bit. Everyone stay in formation while I do this.

Sicario #3: Puma, go ahead and fire once the command is given. I’m short on ammunition. So, I’ll just owe you one for this. As it is I already owe you a great debt.

Sicario #4: Do you want a magazine?

Sicario #3: Actually yes. I could use 2 more.

Sicario #5: Hey, what the fuck? What’s his name is pissed the fuck off as it is.

Sicario #1: Burn everything the fuck down.

Sicario #6: They want everything burned the fuck down. And I don’t have a lighter to do it.

Sicario #3: Go ahead and burn everything down. I’m recording the video so I can’t do much else but record. Here take this lighter and torch that shit already.

Sicario #1: Go ahead and unleash more gunfire so that things go bad for Choco Verde. Torch everything, torch everything. Start lighting everything on this side over here.

Sicario #3: Light it up over here where you can see it ablaze.

Sicario #1: Start working your way over here, go over there. Double step, double step men.

Sicario #3: Come on men double step that way. Let’s go.

In Sonora, Los Chapitos are competing against La Barredora 24/7, headed by Rodrigo Páez Quintero, nephew of old-school drug kingpin Rafael Caro Quintero.

  3. I'm actually convinced that RCQ has nothing to do with La Barredora. Notice how none of these guys or even El Durango leader of Los Delta's never ever mentioned RCQ in his videos. ONLY Cara de Cochi or whatever it is and Paez Quintero (RCQ nephew). Does anyone know if the DEA ever mentions whichc he's a part of now?
I do think he's trafficking but what if he was with CJNG? It was often said him and Mencho are fairly close and good friends. He has a nephew or close relative that was or still is a high ranking member of CJNG, close to Mencho, "Daniel Quintero" from CJNG ... He was arrested and I believe released last year and haven't heard anything since. Also rumors he has other nephews and some sons in CJNG..

Chiquis would always say that Mencho and RCQ we're good friends. Mencho reportedly took care and made sure RCQ dealings in Jalisco specifically GDL were always protected.
    Any thoughts on this? Opinions?

    1. Sounds plausible. rafa could use the help and it's an oppportunity for Mencho to gain a foothold in the region

    2. The RCQ clan in Guadalajara actually paid CJNG during his stay in Jalisco. From what I have heard is that they paid with hard cash and a couple money laundering business in Zapopan and Guadalajara including lands and sugar cane processors. What does make me believe that there’s a connection between the two is that the ransom if you want to call it like that, was not a lot, or at least a lot for a person like him. Although it is just rumors I’ve heard, some sicarios around the state have been sent to Sonora in recents months but you never know who calls for them since most never come back alive to tell the stories. My personal theory is that CJNG is using Rafas infrastructure in Sonora to establish a point of contact and entry with the Nogales corridor. If they manage to gain control then Nogales and TJ can be turned into fortresses like the CAF did with Tijuana back in the days

    3. YUP, the first thing CARO did when he was RELEASED was to go get MENCHO's blessing..
There is a story here in BB

You sir are not living in this reality. Mencho can't even visit his home town, much less take it over. For one Quinteros are in the losing end of that war and Mencho has to kidnap every homeless man he can to keep up his numbers.

    5. This is correct . The Caro/Quimtero /Payan family is huge and not always on the same page.

    6. @7:28
No cartel leader is safe anymore.
Mayos internal disputes and Los Chapitos vs El Ruso vs El guano. I remind you of the story of pistoleros shootings up el chapos moms house
CJNG beef in Aguililla is also something to look at
CAF as a whole has people in their backyard now so they need to align themselves with bigger fish
Z: don’t get me started with these marucheros with the government and beef with CDG
CDG: bosses are regularly captured and or killed
BLO: is not extinct but the presence the have is through alliances with bigger fish in the area
Sonora as a whole is a complete and utter war zone and was never truly in lockdown except when El Botas Blancas was running the show in the early 2000s
The bottom part of the peninsula is a complete mess
CDMX Gangs are always and forever be fighting with each other
The point is to imply like some bosses can just waltz right into their hometowns like the old days is just stupid. That era is long gone, the time of flashy displays of wealth and power are no more. If you don’t believe me go to many of the towns in between Mazatlán and Culiacán I go once a couple months and every single town is a shit hole now compared to what it use to be back in the early 2000s. A few towns that comes to mind is Portaceli and La Mojonera in Sinaloa. Those towns had some of the best parties back in the era of el licenciado and now it’s all gone down hill. Mexico is entering the era of the crack pandemic just like LA had in the 80s and 90s. Shit in Mexico is going to get a lot worse now that drug use is on the rise

Yeah ok, but I ask again in what reality is CJNG going take over Nogales and Tijuana because it’s not this reality that we are living in. I know Mencho doesn’t mind sending his most recent kidnapping victims to get killed in enemy territory but in northern Mexico la Nueva Generation is a joke.
