Hector Rodriguez Uriostegui, alias "El Colin"

Héctor Rodríguez Uriostegui, known as "El Colin" or "El Gordo", was arrested in Cuernavaca, Morelos on the morning of May 1st. "El Colin" is suspected of having played a role in the Ayotzinapa missing students case and is currently being held on charges of aggravated homicide of Rosendo Arroyo Delgado and his wife Blanca Alicia Arias Martínez on February 25, 2020.

"El Colin," age 38, is a leader of the criminal group Guerreros Unidos (or La Bandera) implicated in the disappearance of the 43 students in Ayotzinapa in September 2014, and has reportedly been active in the state of Guerrero, conducting extortions, kidnappings and homicides. He is currently being held in pretrial detention in Chilpancingo, Guerrero.

Guerreros Unidos is in conflict with "Los Tlacos" led by "El Necho" and "El Grupo Sombra" to control Iguala, Guerrero. "El Colin" had moreover been targeted through a narcomanta deposited in Iguala by his adversaries and had himself signed a set of narcomantas directed against the Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador. In it, the latter stated that Canadian mining companies, such as Equinox Gold and Media Luna, were involved in the Iguala disappearances.
