FBI Fugitive Wanted Since 2004 Arrested In Chiapas

"MX" for Borderland Beat

Xóchitl Aurora Delatorre had ties to Murrieta, California, which is part of the Greater Los Angeles area.

Xochitl Aurora Delatorre, a fugitive of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), was arrested in the Mexican state of Chiapas earlier this week.

Agents from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection apprehended Delatorre when she was driving a vehicle on one of the streets of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the state capital. When questioned about her legal status in Mexico, authorities discovered that she was wanted by the FBI.

Delatorre is wanted in the US for her alleged involvement in the murder of a man on September 10, 2004, in Los Angeles, California. The FBI was offering a reward of up to US$5,000 for information leading to her arrest.

On November 16, 2004, Delatorre was charged with murder and robbery by the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, and a state warrant was issued for her arrest. However, the FBI said that she may have fled to Mexico and was not spotted again for over 17 years.

The detainee was handed over to the US authorities in accordance with the human rights and migration protocols between Mexico and the United States.

  7. Justice will be served it was not worth for killing him and running. You have had good years as a fugitive. Your family probably supported you by getting welfare from kids you left behind. You are sorry.
