Sedena: CJNG videos were for the birthday of "El Mencho" and a message to "El Marro"

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat TY Gus  Sin Embargo Mx

The Hitmen wearing the letters of the Cartel Jalisco New Generation  ( CJNG ) is a cell led by Juan Carlos González, known as “R3”.

The head of the Secretariat of National Defense ( Sedena ), General Luis Cresencio Sandoval, said this morning that the group that boasted two videos with weapons,  are CJNG hitmen, in  a cell led by Juan Carlos González, known as “R3”.

One of the videos, in which they refer to Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho”, was related to the criminal leader's birthday, on July 17th.

The second video, the General says is a response to a threat by José Antonio Yépez Ortiz, known as “El Marro” and leader of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel (CSRL).

"The videos that were circulating on social networks and in the media, vehicles with artisan armor, painted green [camo] and with logos of an alleged group of special forces, is an elite group of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel is exhibited," he explained.

During the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the official detailed “that there are 80 weapons present, one 50 caliber anti-aircraft machine gun, nine other types of machine guns, 10 Barrett 50 caliber rifles, 54 assault rifles, six attachments throwing grenades.”

“In total 80 weapons and 75 people visible in the videos."

"In the vehicles, we have a double wheeled van with two turrets, nine armored pickup trucks, an armored hummer, an armored excursion, four pickup trucks, two Rubicon jeeps, one armored jeep and three vehicles that we were unable to identify because they are out of focus,” said the Secretary of Defense.

Likewise, he added that they have 19 vehicles that have commercial characteristics, of which 12 have artisan armor and seven only with adjustments to assemble weapons.

In the first video, the armed group is observed shooting and harangued. They mention some people among them, part of their criminal group.

“This group, in the information we have, emerged last year and is led by Juan Carlos González, alias 'El R3', who is one of those who appear in the harangue,” said Luis Cresencio Sandoval.”

In addition, it was revealed that this group has cells that are present in Michoacán, Zacatecas, and Guanajuato.

"Both videos are intended to show the elite group with the greatest force within the cartel, by power and volume of fire, and military training. The videos had important media coverage. Also, in the first video shows the current support and leadership of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación, which is 'El Mencho'. […] The date it is published, which is July 17, coincides with the birthday of 'El Mencho'. So, it is focused on that support for this leadership,” he indicated.

While "The second video is focused on a direct threat against 'El Marro' and the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel, it also is referring to the weakness of the criminal organization, excesses and abuses against the population in the state of Guanajuato".

Despite the equipment displayed by the CJNG, Sedena stated that there is no record of its use in any direct confrontation against security forces. Still, Sandoval acknowledged the risk involved in the confrontation between the cartels.

"It forces us to take actions that strengthen public security, mainly to prevent society from being harmed, it will act in all areas of influence of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel to prevent certain situations from occurring," he promised.

  1. What a joke. The firepower from just on U.S. fighter jet could wipe out the entire CJNG. Big fish in a small pond. If Mexico weren't so corrupt and actually had a decent defense budget instead of stealing all of the money, then they would be in a position to light these savages up. But nooooo, they have to line their silk pockets so the people end up paying the price. Sad.

    1. What good is a fighter jet if it doesn't have permission to go into Mexico?

    2. Have you ever really thought that maybe Mexico wouldn't do that just because the amount of money the drug trade generates? But you and your call of duty game mentality which probably never served in the military just thinks of bombing shit.

    3. @11:13 you don't get it do you!? You wipe out 1 or 100 doesn't matter. There are millions of ninis (=no future) ready to take their place and all the corrupt politicians on both sides of the border wants the drugs to keep on flowing.

I'd say the you here is ignorant You!

    4. They only way U.S intervenes with out Mexico permission would be Mexican Cartels killing white Americans, sorry no Mexican Americans, like an attack of tourism spots or them threatening America on videos, this would bring the destabilization of Mexico for decades to come. Otherwise non of their business other then money laundering. U.S big brother network spys on everything that relates to electronics, on or off the grid. Like here 😊 Mexico is no exception. they know everything! China, Russia and Iran are prime concerns.

    5. Maybe, just maybe your logic is incorrect and a bit naive. There will no jets across Mexico. Perhaps some secrete small missions, I’ll give you that. However, there’s just two much money to be made on both sides of the border.

    6. 10 predator drones with the help of 20 recon drones and satelites could literally remove CJNG from existence over a 96 hour timeframe. The problem then lies in Balkanization.

    7. The mexican military is not there to be used to conduct War on Mexicans, just like the US military, bit the did get used by past governments to make the "War in Drugs" budget last longer, specially after the middle men from the US and the mexican government "officers" stole most of the money.

    14. 3:47 guanajuato is not a weak nor is it cheap. lots of killing has been done in this state for a good while now. the cartel is probably trying to get into oil theft or protecting investments. auto manufacturing is big in the state. controlling guanajuato will also give them routes from ports in colima up to slp and eventually into tamps or nl.

    15. 3:47: Guanajuato is extremely important for transportation from Jalisco and Michoacan to the border crossings at El Paso.

Could it be that us here at BB figured out this intelligence before SEDENA/SEMAR did? Also, the thought that the masked comandante in the beret is Mencho’s stepson is just too cinematic to believe.

  12. @12:46 you must have never gone to war. Its not as easy as it seems. US has been in afghanistan for 19 years now. Best army/ military in the world and cant take out the taliban. Video is for Jalisco's enemys to show there power. Taking over and invading is not just sending beefed up trucks and done. Marro has been hiding. You got alot to learn.

Exactly. People keep saying bring in us troops. If they bring troops in on the ground, the cartel would b giving the us a hard time they have some serioud man power and lots of experience of war in mexico everyday.
And now ir they bring in airstrikes, think about how many times us has already killed thousands of innocents and wrote it off as collateral damage. This would make things 1000x worse than it already is

      Delete
    2. Wow, 19 years. So you have 19, 20,22, 25, 27 year olds who were young kids when the war started and are adults now. I'm sure some of these Afghany kids have not only witnessed death and destruction but may have as well known of or witnessed friends and family dying at the hands of America. Can you blame these 19, 20 year old afghan people for fighting back against these foreigners? (The U.S)... it's crazy, here you have American youth joining the military for various reasons. For some it could be a free education, the money, a chance to travel, no sense of direction or just plain ignorance, while for the afghan youth it's what any human being would do if someone is attacking where they live and killing the people they know.

It's always a trip for me how a lot of Americans always want to call for war. I feel like those that want war should be the first to sign up. You have a lot of those on this website.

    6. Agree. When I read about that- I was thinking the same. It was thought the big horror kills were for publishing on social media to terrorize, but if it is just held onto for personal sharing and 'enjoyment' that is beyond sick.

    7. 12:45, trust CDS has done that and lot more, only difference no social media no camera phones! So when people say CJNG is the worst it only makes me believe you didnt live through the 80's and 90's in Mexico when there was alot of cartel restructuring!!

Chema knows more about THAT story but I only KNOW there WAS a love TRIANGLE with his wife and CJNG guy.. NOW he has a GRUDGE against CJNG
AMLO is with CDS and it's pretty OBVIOUS how he LOVES visiting CHAPO mom and how he made the call TO let CHAPITOS go in CULIACAN a few months ago..
He DIDN'T meet UP with SOLDIERS or governors when CDS took MILITARY families hostage but he made a big deal about cjng showing armored trucks..
It's going to GET messy for CJNG seems like they have a plan to take THEM out

Supposedly he was suppose to take leadership after "El lobo Valencia and El Tigre" got captured but Mencho and 85 opposed it.

WE Will see how Mencho leads, when he takes completely over, will he become like Pablo Escobar and murder police, judges, blow up cars in populated areas, take down 747 Aircraft's, or Will he be like El Chapo, want to become popular and powerful and move drugs into rich powerful countries that will put pressure on the U.S. to take him down and end up like Chapo in jail, or Escobar dead on the roof, what's he's doing now seems the be the best choice, stay underground.
