1 out of every 10 Mexico's homicides are in Guanajuato

CJNG and SRLC fight and struggle to gain control of the region, creating a hotbed of violence that has resulted in record breaking number of homicides.  Both groups have expanded throughout the country.  SRLC and its leader El Marro are supported by Sinaloa Cartel in their war against El Mencho and CJNG

At the least 21 people were shot dead in the state of Guanajuato in less than 24 hours, 10 of them inside a center for rehabilitation in the city of Irapuato, as confirmed by the Ministry of Local Public Safety.

It was detailed that in the attack on the rehabilitation center also known as an annex called "Start a new life",  located on Eratzicuitzio street, in the 24 de Diciembre neighborhood of Irapuato, around eight armed subjects related to drug trafficking , arrived and shot.

In a statement issued by the authorities, it was detailed that one more person was injured in that attack.

In another violent act in this same municipality, a woman was killed, while a man was injured by individuals who were transporting on board a vehicle, on Calle Obrero Mundial, in the El Ranchito neighborhood.

The second bloodiest attack, which was attributed to him by the Elite Group of the Cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) was against a mechanical workshop known as “ Becaa Cars” located in the municipality of Celaya, where they even threw grenades and where they died 3 more people and at least one injured.

One of the victims died at the scene, while two others died while receiving medical attention.

But those were not the only murders in Celaya, since two more deaths were reported , one under the bridge of Constituyentes Avenue and the other in the Santos Degollados neighborhood.

The other attack that left several people dead occurred in the municipality of Apaseo el Alto, at the Fiesta Apaseo hotel (Below). There, three men were killed, and a woman was wounded when hitmen broke into room 206 and shot the guests, who were between 18 and 25 years old.

And in the municipality of Comonfort, two other murders were reported,  a total of 21 dead,  victims of the war between the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes alias el Mencho and the Santa Cartel Rosa de Lima (CSRL) which is headed by José Antonio Yépez Ortiz, alias el Marro.

Guanajuato is one of the most important industrial centers in Mexico.  It concentrates large world manufacturers of automobiles, airplanes and other heavy product manufacturing.

These activities, as well as the presence of important energy infrastructure, attract criminal organizations such as the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) and  the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel, which, in addition to drug trafficking, are engaged in activities such as extortion, kidnapping and fuel theft.

Both criminal groups have also expanded to various parts of the country, which in 2019 registered a record 34,582 intentional homicides, the highest since 1997, the first year for which there is an official record.

  1. What happened to CDS helping Marro? Is CDS still backing him or cut their losses and left?

    1. I would have to imagine that CDS has to be lending support to Marro. Not even this 99 life having dude could survive this onslaught for so long without serious backing
