Thursday Stats 4.2.20
U.S.:245,400

Cases and 42,404 Deaths in 155 countries
Global:
1,026,001 Cases, 53,930 Deaths in 155 nations
New
York: 91,734 Cases 2935 Deaths Note: hospitalizations have slowed
for 8 days straight
California: 11,126

Mexico: 1510

Notes
from yesterday: In the ongoing issue of mask wearing, today CDC
is expected to announce guidelines for mask wearing. CDC, Dr. Fauci and Birx have been against
wearing masks as “not needed”. It will
be interesting what compromise was reached.
Social
Security recipients will receive checks in 2 weeks if they are paid by
direct deposit. Like for everyone else,
the government is working off 2018 tax returns and income earned in that
year. For those not using direct
deposit, you will receive checks via mail and they will be delayed.
The pneumonia vaccine protects against bacterial pneumonia, not the COVID-19 virus. COVID-19 is viral not bacterial.
Treatment: Although
trials continue, Malaria drug alone or with ZPAC has proven to be effective by
those using it. It is now the go to
medication for doctors. The meds have
been used for decades for malaria and off label for Lupus and arthritis, and
proven safe.
Trump was tested again
yesterday, this time via the Abbott 5 min test, he was negative.

Below is the infamous cases and death "curve" chart from Dr. Birx
![]() |
March 31, 2020 Task Force Conference:
Trump: “It will be a very rough 2 weeks ahead. Very painful
2 weeks”. Trump is referring to the
“peak” expected in 2 weeks.
Paycheck protection: 2 months payroll protection for small
businesses begins April 3.
Americans Repatriated: 25k Americans brought home
Dr. Birx: Goals of community mitigation; flattening the
curve, bringing down death tolls.
Projections without mitigation are 1.5 to 2.2 Million deaths. With mitigation it is 100 to 200k or less.
April 15 it the expected peak date based of data models.
Birx explained the cumulative charts, saying the California
is not rising much unlike NY, attributes to mitigation right away where NY
delayed a couple of weeks. (at top)
Second chart is cumulative cases per 100k for all states.
((below) (Click on any image to enlarge)
Italy: Has
turned the corner and peaked
“No one that has needed a ventilator has been denied a
ventilator.”
Dr.
Fauci: There are 2 dynamic forces;; Virus left alone, that dark
curve on the chart, and virus with mitigation. “We are convinced that mitigation will be doing the trick
for us.” “We are now seeing glimpses of this in NY.”
“Don’t be discouraged!
We will continue to see things go up, but mitigation is working.”
“The first 15 Day plan to stop the virus was proven
effective. BUT now is not the time to
take the foot off the accelerator, this IS the answer.”
Birx: “Projection
using all models, including Italy, is 100 to 200k deaths in the U.S. …but we
are hoping to do even better.”
Fauci: “Our
hope is to get the number down. …we don’t accept the projection, we can do
better.”
Deaths will “lag” so you will see deaths even though we are
doing “really, really well.” California
and Washington mitigated early, before New York and may be reflected in the
flattening of the line. We are in good
shape.
Trump: Old
testing systems were done by CDC and the States, they only processed 30 to 50k
per day, now the new systems in place using outside labs processes 100k or more
per day.
Governor
Newsom of California: California has the largest homeless
population. The governor promises thousands
of hotel rooms for the homeless.
China:
Reporting an uptick in infections and reinfections. China blames the new round on “foreign travelers”
Treatment: 1,100
patients in trial (NY) for malaria drugs and ZPAC. Waiting for the results.
Fauci: A
whole menu of drugs in clinical trials.
That usually takes months that is why they are testing drugs already
approved.
CDC is recommending no change
on the mask policy…..you do not need them unless medically compromised or show
symptoms.
The SARS-CoV-2 virus is a betacoronavirus, like MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV. All three of these viruses have their origins in bats. The sequences from U.S. patients are similar to the one that China initially posted, suggesting a likely single, recent emergence of this virus from an animal reservoir. Early on, many of the patients at the epicenter of the outbreak in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China had some link to a large seafood and live animal market, suggesting animal-to-person spread. Later, a growing number of patients reportedly did not have exposure to animal markets, indicating person-to-person spread
COVID-19 is caused by a coronavirus. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in people and many different species of animals, including camels, cattle, cats, and bats. Rarely, animal coronaviruses can infect people and then spread between people such as with MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV, and now with this new virus (named SARS-CoV-2).

Tuesday Stats 3.31.20
U.S.: 164,400 Cases 3173 Deaths… since Sunday a 24k increase nationwide in cases and 773 deaths increase over the two day period.
Global: 803,605 Cases and 39,033 Deaths in 155 countries
California is experiencing a slow increase with 7429 Cases and 149 Deaths. 44 deaths in L.A... Possibly attributed to social distancing as Governor Newsom was the first in the nation to call for “sheltering in place”.
New York: 75,795 Cases 914 Deaths Note: hospitalizations have slowed for 7 days straight
Mexico: 1094 Cases 28 Deaths Note: Mexico is not providing confirmed comprehensive information including affected states (see graph below)
To mask or not to mask….citizens left confused…
Since I have been reporting on the CV, I have stressed the CDC and Dr Fauci, warning that masks were not needed to be worn and by hoarding the masks and other medical protection wear; it has caused a critical shortage needed by first responders, medical personnel and those high risk persons, such as those with immune deficiencies.
Now there is discussion being conducted by professionals and the CDC, masks worn in public by asymptomatic persons it would stop that person from transmitting the virus. The masks worn by healthy persons is useless in protection but worn by a carrier may stop that person from spreading the highly contagious disease. CDC is looking into this and may impose a mandatory face shielding such as bandannas.
Surgeon General says wearing masks are an added danger of acquiring the virus, as people improperly wear the masks, and touch them with hands.....Stay tuned
Testing: U.S. has tested over 1m and is testing 100k per day, more than any other country in the world. That number will jump as new testing products are used. The “5 Minute Testing” machine began yesterday. The noninvasive test machine can be utilized anywhere, mobile units, urgent care, doctor’s office. Normally taking 8 to 10 weeks to present a new test, this took a couple of weeks and is highly accurate. Trump displayed the small unit at the task force presser yesterday. Trump says there are now 20 testing options. The 5 Min machine was sent to NYC, Seattle, DC and 2 to Ohio.
Ventilators: Ford along with GE are speedily churning out the pNueton non-electric ventilators. The machine works on compressed oxygen, important in situations such as mash type facilities where electricity is limited. Ford/GE They will produce at least 50k in 100 days.
Seema Verma CMS Administrator: They are waving regulations in order to provide expanded care such as “wall-less” hospitals facilities operating outside a hospital. (non CV patients)
Mobile Labs now being used for home appointments, for persons unable to travel to a facility.
Now allowing ER’s to use Telemedicine systems.
Now providing childcare, laundry services, meals for medical personnel and will pay for physicians to make phone calls with their patients for consultation appointments.
Fauci: Expects another wave of the virus in the fall. But emphasizes “It will be a whole different ballgame”, citing testing, treatments and the ability “to trace and isolate” plus “a number of clinical trials for therapeutic intervention, and most importantly multiple vaccine candidates may be ready next season”.
Dozens of companies in the U.S. have stepped up and are manufacturing medical protection gear, medical supplies and equipment. Many are donating the product.
Mike Lindell of My Pillow is making 50 masks a day rather than pillows. He is just one of the many citizens that have stepped up to the virus challenge.

I have a few masks for sale, dentist office masks US $85.00 each and 3M masks for $$$300.00 each.
ReplyDeleteFor ventilators you could use bicycle pumps, electric or manual. Mother in laws not legally approved to breathe on your face, your choice.
TP is not needed, this is a virus, air borne, not Chipotle!!!
"Mexicans do not believe in the Corona Virus, but if you show them the image of jaysus chraist burnt on a tortilla, uuuh, forgetaboutit..."
I seriously laughed outloud after reading that last line. Thanks!
DeleteI assume the $85 and $300 is in pesos.
DeleteThanks for posting this up chivis.
ReplyDeleteI have been keeping up with John Hopkins daily tracking information of Covid 19. This fearing pandemic is the reality of what's to come.
These stay at home orders are working to stem the infections.
However, recent rave party goers near Mexico's border have yet to comply with the seriousness of this threat.
We all need to comply for life's normalization.
Be safe and be smart. This speaking from a spouse on the front lines of this pandemic.
E42
You are welcome! I am sort of obsessed with facts and research. I am guessing your spouse is in the medical field...she will be getting a thank you check...
DeleteU are correct. Despite the worries of the dangers facing many first responders. Wife's professional career along with those other essential people are the true heroes which are often overlooked.
DeleteBe safe and responsible all.
Hey ALMO
ReplyDeleteHow About Tha Hugg now !
I think it's to late for him, with all those handshakes during the pandemic, he is going to have a hard time figuring out, how he got it. Pobrecito Obrador.
DeleteThanks Chivis for the latest updates.
ReplyDeleteHope Sol is doing his part of staying at home.
Watching the lamestream media, you'd think that the world was coming to an end. They really want to keep the panic going for political reasons. We will defeat this virus and be stronger then before as a result.
ReplyDeleteThe only conclusion I would think they are exacturating....is to get the people to comply and stay at home to soften the curve.
DeleteProjection estimates are being reduced by the very people who were the doomsayers. 2mill- 200k- now less. Never let a good crisis go to waste- the mantra of the left and enemies of capitalism.
Delete6:25 beautiful mew word, EXACTURATING...
Deletecongratulations, and I really mean it, thanks!
@April 1 6:38AM
DeleteI've watched the mainstream media and they haven't exaggerated anything. However, YOU just exaggerated how they report. Look in the mirror first.
Death rate in Italy about 11%; in Spain about 8% and both continue to rise. In the US death rate started around 0.3, then 1.2, now about 2%.
ReplyDeleteCompare to seasonal flu with death rate of 0.1%. Mexico and India will be crushed from this. US will get hit hard but recover.
-Cienfuegos
Not neccesarily. If you believe in God all this could go away as quickly as it came. Might not make sense to some but does not have to. Just look at string theory or even the big bang. They don't really make sense yet people believe that.
DeleteVirus dies in 80 degree weather in mexico its been over 100 these past weeks it wont get in the 80s in the us till late june, so your bad wish upon mexico will not be happening, you will be surprised how it wont affect it much only in the capital a bit.
Delete5:34...Is this a fact? I havent heard that. Here in Houston its been consistently in the 80s and its not stopping.....
DeleteAlso MERS another Coronavirus was thriving in the desserts of Saudi Arabia in 110 degree temperatures
DeleteMX won’t die, they even survive their streetfood with any issues. Mexicans are tough.
Delete@2:55 PM...I agree 100% with your 1st sentence but the big bang makes perfect sense"if you believe in God"like you say...The Big Bang only happened after God made his will known..He said...Exist,and it existed, but it wasnt SILENT.Religion and science dont always clash...it only seems that way to those without knowledge
Delete5:34 we will all be surprised if the dumb shit you just said comes true..but it wont so i can forget about getting my suprise...
DeleteAnimo Sicarios.
ReplyDeleteJust to make sure our Operators are safe we will be retesting every Gente Nuevea Special Forces Tier One Operator starting next week.
We already have a new Covid-19 vaccine that was provided to us by our contact within the Chinese Ministry of State Security(MSS) and a Doctor from the Wuhan Institute of
Virology .
O6 don't forget to have the British special forces also tested, we are still waiting for the help you promised us.

DeleteYour "intelligence" units suck if you trusted the Chinese.
DeleteChinese contact? Are you kidding?
DeleteMexico is finally telling people to stay home... Obrador made history shaking hands to a cartel mom, yet he and the lady are over 65, I won't have no simpathy for a guy that does not use common sense.
ReplyDelete7:16 oh, please!
DeleteSave the sympathy, the banks are open for business...
Oh hell another 30 days of stay at home. Who brought the virus from China?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteWe need to hear more from politicians about how the world is will punish China for unleashing this plague.
This is not the first time the Chinese are responsible for a pandemic.
The Virus came from China and China attempted to cover it up. China also had the audacity to say it came from the United States.
Ask yourselves; what civilized country in the world allows open Meat markets of Dogs, Cats, Rats, Bats, Snakes, Porcupines, and other sick shit that normal people don’t eat?
🐀🦔🦇🐍🐸🐈🐕🦺🕷🐒
No readers. My comment is nor racist. It’s fact.
the dogs are the saddest thing ever. my god they have these BEAUTIFUL dogs in cages and other butchered. and every kind of animal, rodent, snake, insect on display and ready to take home. another popular thing is bunny heads and rats on a stick.
Deletevile
This happened for a reason hopefully they learn from this.
DeleteThis isn't the first time Chinese scientists have done crazy shit like this either.
DeleteSol that's the same conclusion I had came up to, chemist were experimenting, got out of hand in thier country, after all they are mad at Trump, causing high tarrifs. Now we are paying the price.
DeleteEl Perin de Tamp
I think Latinos may be the most racist people on earth. More so than any other culture, Latinos are obsessed with skin color and hair texture. In the US I see dark-skinned Black people on the TV all the time.
DeleteI watch Univision. Never do I see a Black person. Not even as a waiter or maid. If there is a Black character, he/she is the lightest-skinned mulatto they could find. Anglos grudgingly will accept black skinned TV personalities. Latinos want nothing to do with dark-skinned Black people, and feel no need to question their beliefs. Not talking about North American Mexicans so much as pointing out Latin Americans and South Americans, especially Brazil.
If you judge Latino culture by TV shows, Black people simply do not exist. Anglos at least pay lip service to being inclusive. Fair-complected Latinos want nothing to do with Blacks and they don't care what anybody else thinks about that attitude.
2:59 tariffs do not affect the chinese at all, the American taxpayer is the one that will pay those tax after taxes, and it is not like they will go and buy more mexican avocados to wear in their designer's denims.
DeleteIt is like what you get from messing with 2 dollar crack hoes, crabs.
NOT quite what happened...
DeleteDo you think the Chinese have to pay tariffs for all the medical supplies coming to the United States? Looks like we're too dependent on them.
Delete9:48 opioid precursors are not medicines, and when it comes to imports, the benefits are for the corporations, not for the rabble who still pays l full price for their uppers and downers, plus tariffs, for the leftovers.
Deletebecus bisness is bisness.
I'm talking about the supplies that are going to save us. They have us by the you know what.
Delete6:25 mexicans do not have racial quotas, but there have been mexican indian emperors, generals, presidents, dictators, heros and villains, and general don Vicente Guerrero who was black and spanish, consummated, the mexican Independence, became a presidente and one of the first toppled by private business interests...and el negro Durazo who without military college or career became the first and only 5 star Mexican General.
Delete--On the US, 3/5ths of a person blacks have progressed, now they get erased 100% from voting lists because they can't rid or rite or lost their registration or moved from one homeless shelter to another...
Sorry ---I didn't realize CV 2 was tapped out. 60 comments approved but didn't make it. so we start anew...
ReplyDeleteCalifornia is evading the big hammer of the scourge.... gov newsom did a good thing in locking everything down, way before NY, and you can see the difference. good job newsom and trump. nice how former foes were able to work together for the greater good. Cuomo doing a good job but was late locking it down. he should have known better with the condense vertical housing in NYC. I would like to see Newsom daily conferences and other governors and not Cuomo every day. thanks chivis, this has been very handy.
4-7k arrivals and departures to cali pre-shutdown from China = herd immunity.
DeleteCan you add recoveries and death rates per age group in your stats?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I will still be at risk even when I was given a shot for pneumonia?
ReplyDelete10:47 no vaccine for corona as of yet,
Deletepneumonia is a mild disease about 10 times less deadly, say the experts.
But don't you worry none, be happy,
we got Corona Virus spoken portraits.
DeleteThe pneumonia vaccine protects against bacterial pneumonia, not the COVID-19 virus. COVID-19 is viral not bacterial
"no vaccine for corona as yet..."
Deletea vaccine usually takes many years before being available.
THIS TIME NO SO...as fauci has explained, the vaccine most promising so far is already in human clinical trials phase one and early summer phase 2. it should be approved and supply ready by next covid 19 season or 12 to 18 months (from early March).
he said this is unprecedented because Trump lifted the regulations left by obama and bush making private enterprise and gov to work together.
There are other vaccines that look good but only this one is in human trail. the others are still in the animal testing phase.
SARS another corona virus from the province we live in in china...took years to make a vaccine. sars began in 2002 in 2006 they still had no vaccine...
Tobacco, drug use, car accidents, etc kill more people a year than this government made bullshit!
ReplyDeleteDid you not see the news where it originally came from, don't tell me you live in a cave.
DeleteGovernment made ? WoW. Thousands of people will die and you are playing conspiracy theory.
Delete“I’m playing conspiracy theory” since when has the government from any nation cared about its people? You must be one of those people that thinks the Illuminati is made up and Hollywood is just entertainment. Well I hope you wake up and know that all these people hate God and righteousness.
Delete6:26 truth is not known but watch the movie contagion it'll make you wonder, the movie was played out as if someone could see the future n that someone did know exactly what was coming...
DeleteOmg why watch a movie regarding 😂 the virus, when we have the real McCoy, happening in our own backyards. You might as well watch Friday the 13th, with Freddy Fender.
Delete130 your comment doesn’t make any sense I’m assuming you tried to make a sarcastic joke of some sort but it was really lame 😒
Delete3:47 I think he meant Gary Cooper.
DeleteLooks like someone knew this virus n all it's craziness was coming...the movie "contagion" says it all exactly what it's happening right now, virus coming from bats, same way of infection, symptoms,etc..it was filmed back in 2011,that makes people wonder....
ReplyDeleteThe death toll is going to skyrocket, the high obesity rates and other underlying health issues are going to be a deadly combination.
ReplyDeleteIn regards to Mexico?
DeleteIn regards to USA?
In regards to New York?
I give up tell us where it will skyrocket? Remember they are going by models.
Gracias Chivis hope everyone holding down on there side of town & all over the 🌎 as best we can in these demented time...I ask my wife cunado if he needs a stress reliever he's a doctor in SB area una botella de liquor? Was even willing to try and get an expensive bottle & have the liquor bottle mail to his pad, but he respectfully declined. He wants to stay healthy and strong during these times especially since none of us know what to expect. My backyard looking a little cleaner section by section..stay safe mundo y medio..
ReplyDeleteChivis on a seperate note Will I am was saying he can't find tissue for his tears not his kids..haha..
Eastsidin Lowriding
for his tears? omg! I am embarrassed. California is doing an incredible job staying in place. Look at their low numbers. no big curve, they are the lowest line. NY waited too long.
DeleteGotta give to newsom he played this perfectly...fingers crossed. my son's fire department have their guys back who became ill on the job with CV. they are doing great. I worry my son is in great shape, BUT he has diabetes2. But they all working double shifts. and those are 24 hr shifts. so 48 hr, or a split.
bottom line all these medical and first responders are heroes. He says the public and the department and everyone is treating them "very well". when he worked the santa barbara he was the public info officer and remember how bad it was, walls of mud rolling down hills. terrible. the people made big signs of thank you and applauded when ff rolled in.
people appreciate front liners. and that is a good thing, they so appreciate it.
take care...
PS Santa barbara or San Berdoo?
Los bomberos are the best they truly are like familia. Even when they don't work they still hang out, fix each other's cars, houses like roofs. Bomberos spend 24 hours a day together they cook, clean, play handball, & they got each others back to the T. Your son is in one of the most prestigious careers ever. I can remember testing for city of LA over 4k people taking the test for 10 openings. Doctor's are stressing in this time of need with nurses too I wish I can buy them a drink but like my wife cunado said not right now he needs to stay healthy. He's out in Santa Barbra area him, his wife and kids. On 2 seperate occasions I have given Los Bomberos agua when they are the true hero's. Vale mas that the public treats the doctors good and all 1st responders. Gracias Chivis y con cuidado 🌎 y medio.
DeleteThat's funny u thought Will I am said tissues for his kids. Don't think the homie got kids pero quien sabe?
so true! BTW...best advise i can give is for young persons wanting to join the FD...it is an awesome career, and who doesn't love FFs?
DeleteSo my son had 2 degrees one in business then he earned another in fire science. anyone interested get at least a fire science degree at community college. you will prob make it to the top tier of candidates. testing is important, obviously being physically fit is very important. the physical test is hard. and the interview is as important as written test. remember for 12 shift a month 24hrs each you have to live with your crew.
But the brotherhood is unlike anything else. families become family. Honestly as proud as I am of my son, I did not want him to be in such a dangerous physically grueling profession.
BUT he loves it and I have stopped worrying. It doesn't help, if his life was taken in the line of duty, as the saying goes, he would have died doing what he absolutely loved.
Over 1000 dead in the US. Very heartbreaking.
ReplyDelete20% of the deaths from around the world were from the United States in the past 24 hours.
ReplyDeleteChina needs to be held responsible for this
ReplyDeleteSanta Barbara county Beautiful
ReplyDeletelived in Santa ynez for yrs
way to many Liberals and snobs
homeless etc slowly going down
read Edhat news Read the comments on this Virus What A Hoot to read them
Snobs throwing fits surfers not caring etc A ONCE GREAT PLACE to live Not anymore ..
Serious question: what was the transition period between "We've got this completely under control, numbers are dropping rapidly", and "A very painful coming two weeks"?
ReplyDeleteThe Governments don't want their citizens to panic so sometimes they lie to us.
DeleteIn LA County Mayor Garsetti has informed the public to stay at home order, which seems to be working. Only escential workers, which seems to be 30 percent and 70 percent are staying at home. The ones more susceptible to getting the CV are the homeless.
ReplyDeleteCalifornia especially the gov is doing an outstanding job... the homeless are to get hotels rooms...has that begun?
DeleteCalifornia is a liberal state by the way.
Deleteand????? that should not enter into giving props where it is due. He has been complimentary to Trump and Trump can't stop saying what an excellent job the gov is doing. I along with the majority of Americans would like to see a lot more of this non politicization in our country.......
Delete429 Chivis yes they are putting the homeless in hotels, including at dockwieler beach near LAX airport, into parked trailers.
DeleteThe Mayor is trying everything possible to have less people infected.
awesome! that is the best and humane course of action.
Delete90% of the U.S. is on a stay at home order.
ReplyDeleteFBI busted a man in New York, somehow he was hoarding up on cases of N95 masks. To be more specific 8 pallets.
ReplyDeleteNy is more condensed city thats why
ReplyDeleteNY was late to order people off the streets 2 wks later than calif and wa. calif and wa have the flat lines on the graph and few deaths....hopefully it holds people can"t let up. all the kids in our family have long been on line schooling from the CV. they like it.
Deleteso ny having vertical condensed living like china was likely to explode with infections.
BUT if they imposed a stay at home order they would have been in good shape. 2 weeks allowed 8.3 million to interact with each other spreading infections. the tricky thing about this virus beside being ultra contagious is that many people are asymptomatic...
Chivis took the day off.
ReplyDeleteno internet!
Delete@Chivis thanks for the charts! Helps put a lot of what I've been reading in perspective.
ReplyDeletethey were hard to find...I saw them on the presser
DeleteThere appears to be a lot of blockades and gun fights, im talking with machine guns right now in Nuevo Laredo. please wsrn people in usa and mexico.
ReplyDeleteMexico getting bad 1510 cases 50 deaths.
ReplyDeleteBut but Lopez Obrador said all is fine, to continue eating tamales outside. No problem 👍.
Delete8:05 lol is sure said it, now he owes the citizens an apology.
DeleteWhat does the article mean by reinfection..:(
ReplyDeletethat is the term china used. implying that a person can get it twice. but once you have the antibodies supposedly you have them for life and that keeps another infection at bay
DeleteNote: Mexico is not providing confirmed comprehensive information including affected states.
ReplyDeleteHow many deaths Borderland Beat wants Mexico to provide so you can be happy ?
If you had two brain cells to rub together you would realize comprehensive data is needed for global modeling. as well as knowing where hot spots are. no just a low count and no death count. the numbers above are the only confirmed cases.
DeleteI have many relatives in mexico...sonora, sinaloa and jalisco. i would like to see the curve for those states. I am sure others want to follow the states they have family in.
Yep people like 515 don't know what models are you ,can't teach an old dog new tricks. California is going by models to lower the curve, hope ours will be kept down.
DeleteI know the Mexican people r worried about the Coronavirus, but they r so Tough, worried being killed by the Cartels.
ReplyDeleteThe situation is very dire in the whole wide world, that I may develop PTSD, now some news outlets I trust will check, last thing I want is panic attack, thereby I will only check news of California. I still think China under reported the actual amount people died of CV.
ReplyDeleteme esta dando cuidado aky en las ciudades gemelas
ReplyDelete22 muertos
789 positivos
Mrs Chivis now in Los Angeles, the latest update from the Mayor is to where face mask and safety glasses, when out doors and shopping, to buy Cotton masks or make your own, if N95 is hard to get.
ReplyDeleteValerie L. Of LA, CA
you do not need the glasses, infection travels in mouth and nose.
Deletethey say it is an option but recommended to wear even a bandanna. this is because people in markets etc are not social distancing. they say a medical mask or n95 is not needed.
ETSY has many I just checked and they are washable with or without a filter pocket
https://www.etsy.com/search?q=mask+
DeleteAmazon has masks but a long delivery wait.
Deletechivis ,,i cant even find a masks here where i live so i order about 24 rainbow color 2 days ago from light in the box and they coming
DeleteYou can get the virus by rubbing your eyes.
Delete6:17 paper towels make perfect filters. if you have a filter pocket in your masks you can cut PT to size and use them instead of expensive filters. toss after each use and get another. A doctor on television said that.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteChivis that is funny that Amazon suppliers are taking long, I ordered masks no even N95, March 20th, and said delivery May 15-20. Furthermore they are coming from China, we are too dependant on other countries for products, USA needs ventilators, guess which country will be making them?
DeleteWouldn't it be nice if this virus would only target evil people around the world?
ReplyDeleteThat would be called the "harvest" from God. First the weeds are cut out then everyone else is taken to the barn.
DeleteFor it is written, "Ye are the Harvest, and the Harvest is surely ripe! Behold! He who rises from the depths of the pit has prevailed!"
DeleteU just malaria medicine is proving "effective" but does that exactly mean??..is it killing the virus, slowing it down or what?
ReplyDeleteHere is a CDC video about making PAPER TOWEL FACE MASKS Super easy It took me about a min. cdc docs say paper towels are excellent filters
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZGU2vWHKC8
It would be nice with the technology USA has...to develop a vaccine ASAP, the vaccine for polio took a while back in the 1950s, but later eventually saved lots of lives.
ReplyDeleteThe good out of the bad:covid-19 doesn't discriminate like humans do
ReplyDeleteThis is a scandal...the numbers dont come anywhere near the response. Pneumonia killed 50 thousand in 2019 in America and nobody batted an eye.
ReplyDeleteIn China the epacenter of the virus lasted 2 months. Wondering if we too will have to stay 2 months at home.
DeleteI regret to inform you, that due to unforeseen circumstances, that transpired in China, the virus of CV is all over the world it is suggested you stay indoors, to curve the spread. Wear face mask like Chivis has mentioned in here. They say 80 percent can get infected. Some countries are prepared, while others are not.
DeleteLopez Obrador acted 3 weeks late, good luck on the out of his citizens.
Mexico-Observer

DeleteHi Chivis
ReplyDeleteWe live in a apartment complex of 3 floors, 25 units. My wife likes to open the windows to let fresh air in. I told her they should stay closed as of someone in the complex would have it, the air would not bring it in. Who do you think is right?
Terry of Los Angeles
Oh boy....well based on what I have heard from dr birx, fauci and the surgeon general...the virus does not transfer in the air...it takes "droplets" sneeze or coughing creates droplets, and those travel about 6 feet which is why they are calling for social separation of 6 feet. I would think it is fine to open windows as long as your neighbors open window is not less than 6 feet away. and even that would take a highly unusual set of circumstances to have it travel to your home. neighbor standing in the open window you standing at yours he is asymptomatic and sneezes a gust of wind comes and blows the droplets to you. could it happen? sure...but HIGHLY unlikely.
DeleteI am not an expert but if it were me i would be ok with it open taking in consideration the windows are more than 6 feet apart.
not sure if you have an elevator, but i would avoid those if possible. lots of metal and the virus stays alive on metal for several days.
My husband is still in china, I told him to please not use the elevator, "are you crazy...?" he said our home is 25 floors up. I guess some things you can"t avoid.
Recently military humbies and trucks were observed on train headed to Chatsworth.
