Irapuato Guanajuato: Confrontation with National Guardia leaves at least 8 Dead

A confrontation between civilians and elements of the National Guard in Irapuato , Guanajuato leaves at least eight dead; first reports: seven civilians killed, one National Guard element died at the scene.

The incident took place during the early morning, on the Irapuato-Abasolo road section, at the height of the community of El Venado de Yostiro. The events occurred around 12 at night, when National Guard personnel made tours.

The National Guard elements was doing routine surveillance work when they were attacked from inside a home with bullets, so they repelled the aggression.
The National Guard reported in its social networks that, after the fray, the result was seven civilians killed, while one of the troops died. One more member of the group was injured and is already receiving medical attention.


After the shooting the soldiers entered a home where they found long and short weapons, tactical vests, cartridges, useful caps, as well as vehicles and drugs.

It is presumed that the property was used as a safe house.

The attack occurs in the context of the announcement of the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection at the federal level, Alfonso Durazo , who confirmed, based on figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System that Guanajuato is the most violent entity, with 3,211 murders so far this year.

No report yet on who the armed civilians were that opened fire on the National Guardia or the identities of the dead.

More details are sure to emerge.

  2. Why are these guys such idiots?? Smh, who shoots at a mobile military command who can call for reinforcements from a house. Sitting ducks. I bet one high idiot decided to fire a shot and then it was on.... shows how intelligent and experienced these goofs were

    2. Yaqui! Thumbs up on the post! Yostiro is a small ranchito just south of Irapuato and close to Pueblo Nuevo. Three armed civilians were killed and one member of the Guardia Nacional was killed. In that safe house there were 4 dead bodies when they had entered to investigate. 1 "bad hombre" apprehended who is said to be from Puerto Vallarta.
