The first police reports talk about armed people entering the property of the legislator and killing several people. It was around noon on Saturday it was reported that some subjects aboard a car opened fire on the deputy.

A group of armed people murdered the local PRI deputy Juan Carlos Molina Palacios, leader of the CNC , at his Santa Rosalía ranch located in El Padre, municipality of Medellín de Bravo, very close to the Veracruz-Boca del Río conurbation zone.

The first police reports speak of armed people entering the property of the legislator and killing several people , apparently escorts of the peasant leader. An ambulance was requested to attend the legislator, however, paramedics confirmed his death due to gunshot wounds.

Elements of the National Guard (GN) and the State Police began a strong operation in the area to which a helicopter was also dispatched.

In the last weeks, Molina Palacios denounced the illegal introduction of cattle by the southern border of the country, warning the sanitary risks for the cattle raising of the country.

Experts from the Veracruz Regional Prosecutor's Office moved to the Santa Rosalía ranch and began the proceedings, while the deputy's remains were sent to the Forensic Medical Service.

At the moment the Ministry of Public Security is operating to find those responsible for the cowardly murder of Deputy Juan Carlos Molina. We are working in a coordinated manner with the State Attorney General and Federal Forces to clarify this crime, "said the Ministry of Public Security through its Twitter account.

Last May the PRI deputy went to the stand to demand the appearance of Hugo Gutierrez, Secretary of Public Security, due to the growing insecurity in Veracruz.

Molina Palacios was a state leader of the league of agrarian communities in the state of Veracruz, also served as coordinator of the sugar industry of the entity and president of the cane producers of the CNC of Ingenio La Gloria.

The legislator is also known for being a strong livestock producer in the state who has won national and international awards with his breeding.

Until now the causes of the aggression are unknown, the authorities have not taken an official position in this regard.
