Julián LeBarón's full account of the events that happened

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat from Proceso ty Gus

Julián LeBarón, a symbol of the fight against organized crime, demanded justice for the murder of nine relatives who yesterday were attacked in Bavispe, Sonora.

“Everyone was shot and burned in their vehicle. Only ashes and a few bones remain, ”he said in a statement.

On the five infants who were injured, LeBarón, who was part of the Movement for Peace with Justice and Dignity, headed by the poet Javier Sicilia, mentioned that an ambulance took them to the hospital, and subsequently a helicopter sent by the Mexican Army provided them help, until the children's father arrived to take them to Phoenix, Arizona.

Here is Julián LeBarón's full account of the events that happened yesterday in Bavispe, Sonora

On the morning of November 4, 2019, three mothers in three vehicles, with 14 children among them, left La Mora, a small family community in the mountains of northeastern Sonora. Two of them to see the family in Chihuahua, and one to pick up her husband at the airport in Phoenix, AZ. They never made it. They were ambushed by the Mexican cartels; shot, burned and killed in cold blood. They were innocent civilians, citizens, who simply tried to live peaceful lives.

For 11 hours, their families throughout Sonora, Chihuahua and the Midwest of the USA,  waited with fear and horror at any news of possible survivors. The first vehicle was found full of bullet holes and completely on fire. Nita and the four of her seven children she had taken on the trip were mostly burned ash and only a few charred bones remained to identify that the five had been inside. Apparently, one tried to escape since the front passenger door was open and the remains were partially in and out of the vehicle.

Elsewhere along the way, about 10 miles ahead, were Christina, with her baby Faith in her vehicle, and Dawna with nine children in his. Both were shot from the front and Christina jumped waving her arms so the attackers knew there were women and children in the vehicles. She gave her life to try to save the rest. Dawna and two of her children were also killed in the shooting.

After witnessing how his mother and siblings were shot dead, Dawna's son, Devin, hid his other 6 brothers in the bushes and covered them with branches to keep them safe while seeking help. When Devin took too long to return, his 9-year-old sister left the remaining five children to try herself. Devin arrived in La Mora at 5:30 p. M., 6 hours after the ambush, providing the first report that someone had heard about their families and those of Christina.

Devin's uncles armed themselves and returned to try to find the hidden children, knowing that many of them were injured. They did not go far before realizing that they would risk death, as there had been continuous shooting for hours, in all the mountains near La Mora. The group of men waited a moment for reinforcements, and around 7:30, they found the children hidden. They found Christina's baby Faith with the vehicle surrounded by bullet impacts. Somehow she had remained intact and alive. She was in the car seat which appeared to have been hurriedly placed on the floor of the vehicle by her mother for protection.

The search did not end there. Mckenzie, the 9-year-old boy who had gone for help, was missing. Soldiers who had already arrived and the men of La Mora and nearby villages searched for two hours in the dark until they found him around 9:30.

The five Dawna children who were injured were picked up by a waiting ambulance and treated at the local hospital until a helicopter sent by the Mexican army came to pick them up. Their father David, who had already arrived from Tucson, Arizona, accompanied them to be transported in another helicopter that was waiting at the United States border, to be transported to Phoenix.

Devin, his brother Jake and Christina's baby Faith, all injured, are now in the care of their aunts and grandmothers in La Mora.

We lost 9 today. At this moment we are waiting, in the morning, for answers, justice.

    5. this was not something done by La Linea, my family is from that area and every head of La Linea knows the LeBaron family. They wouldn't cross them because they do a lot of good for the community and they are big activist's for the rights of the hard working class.

    1. Which CDS has been doing lately. If they’ll attack and take their own innocent people hostage, what can we expect of outsiders like the Mormons? (not of Mexican descent). CDS was once a drug trafficking cartel, now they are terrorists of innocents and those unarmed. You don’t see them go at other cartels like that.

  3. Politicians in Mexico contribute more to the cartel than anybody else in this epidemic of women and children being burned alive everywhere in mexico. For example politicians change and make laws in favor of the cartels agricultural investments if a politician needs his and his cartel friends crop sell more and make more profits they kill and extortion the competition same in real estate and casinos also in tourist areas where hotels and bars are big money laundering business for both that’s why the government will always protect the cartels It’s simple cartel kills whoever has something to say about the governments dirty business and government military captures cartels enemy’s and helps them bend every single law that exist to help them launder the drug money into goods that are sold in the us and everywhere else in the world

AMLO must act decisively and erase this scum.

  5. I hate Trump but he's right. Its time to let the U.S go over there and take these soulless cartel scum out once and for all. It was time a long time ago but I know the U.S doesn't care about Mexican citizens dying. What about now? Send in the marines and army and show these motherfuckers immunity and impunity aren't happening any more!!!!

    1. Actually they were visiting Mexico, this isn't about white people it is about light finally being shinned on an ongoing problem. This isn't about while people it is about innocent women and children from a very important family in Chihuahua who also happen to be AMERICAN citizens.

  8. I keepaying Mexico is a failed State. The American public is quite ignorant of the things we have been knowing for years via BorderlandBeat and other web sites. The American MSM avoids Mexican horror events.
The talking heads in the USA are all in a tizzy as if what happend is an unusual event. Why the American public is so ignorant has always amazed me.
The report I just read is sickening in details. I hope the USA stays out of getting involed in Mexican affairs because it is likely thingss will spin out of control and we end up in a Viet Nam situation where many thousands of American and Mexican lives will be lost. I pray that the USA let Mexico fix its own problems.
I can't go on I'm very disturbed right now.

    2. Then tell your lazy president to get his act together and we would not be in this predictament. He can't have safety for his own people, he is busy offering poems, enough of that.

    3. Thousands of lives have already been lost. Too late.

    4. Mexico CAN’T fix its own problems! That is and has been crystal clear for years. It’s time to acknowledge and accept the bitter truth - Mexico is a failed state. When the nation’s own government cannot govern - whether due to corruption, incompetence, or as we saw in Culiacan, stronger competing forces within its own borders, it is by definition a FAILED state. Accept the facts - Mexico has not been able to solve this issue(s) - it doesn’t matter who you think is at fault (U.S. drug consumption, guns, whatever) - that fallible logic is nothing but a finger pointing admission that Mexico is truly helpless left on its own. How many more countrymen need to die for you to recognize this obvious truth?

The astonishing thing is that in light of what has become so clearly evident and plain for all to see, you would think Mexicans would be BEGGING for help and be GRATEFUL that the U.S. or any nation has offered to even provide it. Yet instead ignorant, prideful idiots post clown comments blaming the U.S. or stating all the reasons they think a U.S. intervention would fail. You know what I guarantee you will fail? Mexico. Mexico will continue to fail left to its own devices and spare me the fantasy illusion that hugs not bullets AMLO is the nation’s Messiah savior - he’s a nothing but a dull nitwit who like the rest of our country, is a laughingstock among the other nations.

Let the U.S. come in and get involved and work with the tiny few Mexican officials who aren’t entirely corrupt. Let’s see what happens. I personally think they would clean shit up with the cartels and push them to operate somewhere else and not Mexico to escape from being killed or captured. Getting the cartels out of Mexican soil would probably go a long ways to reducing the rampant corruption too, as politicians wouldn’t be living under constant threat and/or have criminal cartel organizations to line their pockets with. The U.S. would never send it’s big military into Mexico anyways - they’re not stupid. They would deal death to the cartels using their light, quick-strike special operations forces - the same type of motherfuckers that they used to take out Osama Bin Laden and Abu Bake Al Baghdadi. If anyone on this site thinks for a fucking second that Mencho or any cartel could compete with U.S. SOFs raiding them in the dark of night or sending down hellfire missiles that can hit targets miles away within 18 inches of where they were aiming then you’re fucking stoned or delusional.

Fuck these cartels - and fuck the politicians that have been corrupted and who have helped allow this situation to get to the point it has come to. I’d love nothing more than to see some special operations forces come in and light their fucking ass up. The very idea makes me want to get my popcorn ready.

  9. My family is from Chihuahua not far from Galeana where the LeBaron family has a colony at. They are hard working humble people I have personally met and interacted with many from their community. This was not La Linea because ALL of the heads of La Linea know and respect the family for their help and actions in the communities of that area. Either ways Mexico's corrupt politicians will not let the U.S get involved because it will uncover a lot more than cartel activities. It will uncover lists and names of corrupt politicians. I agree with Trump on this one, you need a REAL military to take control because as sad as it is Mexico can't or doesn't want to deal with it.

  10. This has gotten out of hand I have relatives from culiacan that are in the game and they can’t get ahold of any government contacts, this leads me to believe they no longer have contacts and USA has really turned the pressure up to do something about this and we’ll see some action taken soon. I believe this is the Kiki Camarena case of our time.

  11. Unbelievable how this cartel killed Innocents that day. The cartel has been given a big headstart in getting away from the area, a few days later Obrador will send 243 special ops, As always the government wants things to go slow, it's predictable, that if they don't get the killers, they will find some innocent peasants to pin it on.

    1. You sound like you are suggesting that this family “had it coming”? Please - clarify yourself. I don’t care if they were (theoretically) actively trying to sabotage cartel operations or snitch them all out - that’s what any law abiding good citizen is supposed to do. And please - spare us the Morman Mafia BS - we’ve all been on this site for years - we have thousands of stories and pages upon pages of news about the cartels...not a shred about the supposed “Morman Mafia” LOL - again, cartels shooting cops and civilians up every day and some of these clowns want to talk about the Morman Mafia (“they’re legit, I swear”) GTFOH lol.

  15. "Devin's uncles armed themselves" I'm sure there wont be any weapons charges for them, since they are US Citizens, that means that they can get away with it right? And if the government does press charges it wouldn't be fair because they are US Citizens. But send in the marines to protect the us citizens but dont hold them accountable for anything though. Wow, what a mess.

    3. Without Mexicos permission (and payment/big favors) to operate in the area it would be considered an invasion on Mexico by the U.S.A

Part of the reason Mexico says they dont want help is because they are corrupted and bribed by the same cartels.

What they can do however is contract U.S/government funded security contractors to clean out the unwanted cartels and basically leave the "good ones"

FBI and partner agencies will monitor the situation and gather Intel. on the criminal cartel that work in that area, before it happened and what will the government do if any to catch the persons responsible. US news agency was there seeing the images of burnt SUV's really hits the core, like shooting them to death was not good enough.
