Guerrero: Sistema de Seguridad de Xaltianguis aka Los Dumbos: 5 Members Apprehended

Chilpancingo, Guerrero - The tally in apprehensions for Los Dumbos is 14 and 10 for the UPOEG.

Five other members of the Sistema de Seguridad de Xaltianguis (SSX) or “Los Dumbos” were arrested on Tuesday after an operation implemented by the Federal and State Government in that town of the municipality of Acapulco, after the strong clashes.

After this detention, inhabitants of that town blocked the federal highway Mexico-Acapulco. They burned tires and at least two vehicles to demand that the authorities release the 14 detainees of that armed group.

Around noon on Tuesday, elements of the National Guard, the Navy and the Municipal Police together with the State Police, arrived at the town of Xaltianguis and implemented an operation in search of armed people, achieving the arrest of five subjects carrying long weapons and shirts with the acronym "SSX", who were outside the command headquarters.

Yesterday after blockades and clashes between armed people from the group "Los Dumbos" and the Union of Peoples and Organizations of the State of Guerrero (UPOEG), 19 armed people were arrested by the authorities, while this Tuesday the tension in the town continues.

So far classes in all the schools of that town were suspended and several businesses closed out of fear, while public transport was suspended due to the violence.
