El Cuini's extradition to the U.S. halted

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat T Gus from Reforma

A federal judge granted Abigael González Valencia "El Cuini", one of the leaders of the Jalisco Cartel New Generation (CJNG), the protection [amparo] against the extradition order to the United States, where he will be tried for drug trafficking crimes.

The Michoacán kingpin awarded  protection of justice against the decision to surrender him it to the US issued on March 25 by the Foreign Ministry.

At the moment, the details of the ruling are publicly unknown, its effects and scope, since on the page of the Federal Judiciary Council it only registers the meaning of the resolution, but not a public version of it.

The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic has already challenged Judge Cervantes' sentence and it will be a collegiate circuit court that will
determine whether or not the leader of the Los Cuinis clan is delivered to the American Union or not.

"El Cuni" is  to be tried in the Federal Court of the District of Columbia, based in Washington, for drug trafficking, money laundering and the equivalent of the crime of organized crime.

The extradition order against which he now litigates, is the second issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, because the first was canceled last December by the Sixth Criminal Collegiate Court, which instructed the replacement of the procedure.

The argument was that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not value in that first extradition order if "El Cuini" was to be handed over before or after being prosecuted and sentenced in Mexico for a trial to carry firearms and another for murder in Chiapas.

González Valencia was arrested on February 28, 2015 in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, after traveling from Spain to attend a party.

  1. The thing i hate about the Valencias is they had Mencho do all their dirty work. The cowards sat back sniffing all the profits up their noses while Mencho was out enforcing for them.

  6. Valencias . . . need you say more. The most profitable cartel, "los Cuinis", the multiplying squirrels. Where does it stop? Rosalinda, Chapitos, etc. Maybe it's money or death. Money is a better choice for sure, but where does it stop? AMLO words into thin air. Hugs, not drugs. AMLO, really? Not romantic anymore, but a ruthless killing machine.

    4. 7:50 your opinion is correct. However you will get people saying no way because Chapo was flamboyant and wasn't into keeping quiet... Now Mayo is a different story. Mayo and Cuini are head to head...

  10. You're wasting your time with this strategy of targeting the top guys. Soon as you get one, another takes his place. Target the cartels in the streets, recognize you are in a war and shoot as many of their troops as possible. Put the rest in stockades out in the deserts far away from everyone else.

  11. Here we go again! Corruption, corruption, and more corruption. There will never be an end this. No way to clean up the Mexico judicial system without foreign intervention, or perhaps a Savior like AMLO. OOPS, wait a minute, he hasn't done a damn thing to stop the corruption.
