"El 5050" Mexican Gangster Rapper Turned Christian Singer Is Murdered

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

The Matamorense rapper Alejandro Barret known as "El 5050", after years of composing and writing songs for crime, had a drastic life change by explaining that he met Christ, motivating him to put aside the life of excesses he led and he became a Christian singer .

Unfortunately, after trying to lead another life, he returned to compose rap, and today the death of this young singer was reported. According to info circulating, his body was found with a shot to the head, apparently in the Ejido El Refugio, in Matamoros, early this Sunday.  His disappearance was reported last Monday.

  1. Playboy had talent. His rap is much in the vein of American trap music. Gritty lyrics that best described the underbelly of crime. Great singer. He will be missed by many.

    1. Wait, Sol. So he rapped for this world. Became Christian, later walked away. Then went back to rapping? And then got killed? I think I read into it too much 😅

  9. 5050 to cdg as to comando exclusivo to cdn,z. My family is from matamoros tamps and of course they jam to this music over there north east Mexico but if I'm not mistaken I heard they listen to this type of music in other states? Can anyone agree? I know it's ganster rap and to most is junk music but is it recognizable in other states?

    3. Music transcends boundaries.

I am from Canada and have been listening to Comando Exclusivo, 5050, Oben, Cash, Cherrys, etc for probably 6 or 7 years now and have a vast collection of songs saved.

It is sad to see 5050 go. Curious as to the circumstances, he made a few songs that were pro-CJNG and I suspect that may have angered the owners of Matamoros.

    1. And yet American radio stations play this type of music for many years now.
Preaching ignorance is hypocritical of u.

    2. Still doesn't change the fact that he's right.

    3. How am I preaching ignorance? I hit play, I heard his lyrics and based off of that I determined it's trash. Same goes for music played of any genre on any radio station across the world. If I determine the lyrics are toxic, chances are I'll change the station or turn it off.

    1. I agree with you. It's easy to live in this world. It's much harder to stand for God and what's righteous. But there is NO doubt that with God, EVERYTHING is possible. We just don't hold onto that faith long enough. You are right. God bless you!

    2. Well, if tourists come for the pederastia, or to "buy mexican shores and beaches" and choice real estate with a kickback to the police or politicians and little else, just to increase the corruption, who wants tourists?
There is also the sales of $30.00 dollar Mexican hats made in China with authentic Mexican labels made and applied in China or Virgencitas de Guadalupe made in China too...
      Who cares about tourism?
Lucky AMLO is recovering PEMEX for Mexico for starters,
AND PROSECUTING THE CORRUPTION FROM THE PAST,
--but you know, Rome wasn't made erect in one day...

    5. Amlo wants more victims to go to mexico and get fucked up. You wld have to be an idiot to go vacationing in mexico. Not related to this article but i just saw the mayor of reynosa wants to tax the ppl that sell food in reynosa. Its like extortion from the goverment added to the extortion they pay criminals. And i think she lives in usa then crosses to her city. The usa shld kick all the mexican goverment ppl mayors governors whom ever to their side so they live in the shit that the regular folks have to live in. What the fuck they doing here when on their ppl ar living in worse conditions than if they were living in fucking irak.
