Sedena Busts 150 Kilos of Crystal Meth and 1950 Fentanyl Pills

The Mexican Army secures 150 kilograms of methamphetamine and more than 1,950 pills of Fentanyl in San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora. Elements of the Mexican Army conducted a drug confiscation in the state of Sonora.

Lomas de Sotelo, Mexico City, on September 27, 2019: The Ministry of National Defense reports that on September 26, 2019, within the framework of the “National Peace and Security Plan 2018-2024”, elements of the The Mexican Army carried out drug confiscation in the state of Sonora.

The events occurred when the military personnel established in the military strategic security post “Cucapah”, when using non-intrusive technology using a Gamma ray equipment, checked a vehicle from Hermosillo, Sonora, bound for Tijuana, BC that transported containers of plastic containing liquid flavors made with chili base; that presented irregularities in its content.

Therefore, the military personnel chose to carry out a more detailed review and located 319 hidden bags in the containers that contained a crystalline and granular substance inside, with the characteristics of methamphetamine, giving an approximate weight of 150 kilograms; also 1,950 tablets of Fentanyl hydrochloride. The detainee and the insured were made available to the corresponding authorities.

The localized drug has an estimated market price of $ 43,568,526.00 Pesos which significantly affects criminal organizations.
