Municipal Police Commander Murdered in Celaya, Guanajuato

CELAYA, Gto; On Monday morning, a commander of the Municipal Police Directorate was shot dead while driving in his private vehicle on Technological Avenue from south to north.

The element was driving a black and orange Ford Ranger truck, and at the height of Salvador Ortega was intercepted by armed men who opened fire on him. The bullets shattered the glass on the left side of the vehicle and hit the commander, Sergio Morales Casas, who had 25 years of service in the department.

The site was attended by elements of the Municipal Police, the Public Security Forces of the State and the National Guard, who guarded the area and closed the road to vehicular traffic  east bound of the avenue, near the Costco store.

They are waiting for agents of the Public Ministry and Experts for the taking evidence at the scene, as well as the Forensic Medical Service.

The Municipal Government of Celaya, through the Ministry of Citizen Security, strongly condemns and regrets the events of this Monday where the commander of the Municipal Police, Sergio Morales Casas, who had more than 25 years of uninterrupted service in the corporation and at the service of the Celayenses.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security, stands in solidarity with family members, coworkers and strongly rejects any act that seeks to undermine the tranquility of the inhabitants and security institutions of Celaya.

Investigations regarding the case are already in the hands of the State Prosecutor's Office of Guanajuato and the Secretariat of Citizen Security will collaborate with this agency to clarify the facts and bring those responsible to justice.

Subsequently, it was learned that armed subjects aboard a gray Golf vehicle fired against the element, so the alert was activated with neighboring municipalities in order to find those responsible, until that time without results.

Likewise, elements of Expert Services arrived at the site of the attack , who detected approximately 15 .223 mm caliber percussed caps, and the Forensic Medical Service lifted the corpse , which was taken to its facilities where the law autopsy will be performed.

It should be noted that Police Commander Sergio Casas, between 45 and 50 years old , had his domicile in the city of Comonfort, where he was headed after working his shift.

It will be precisely the Prosecutor's Office responsible for providing more information, as long as it does not obstruct the investigation of the unfortunate event.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security reaffirms its commitment to strengthen security in the municipality, consolidate social peace, protect the Celayan families and redouble efforts to have a better city.

In Addition another Police Officer Disappears while on Duty at the Landfill:

An auxiliary police officer was deprived of his freedom on Sunday night of the Tinajitas landfill, where he was assigned.

It was learned that three men arrived, who wore balaclava, aboard a white Chrysler 300 vehicle and took it by force, without knowing the direction they took or the reason for the aggression.

The Police element responds to the name of Alejandro "N" . Municipal police and the State Public Security Forces have knowledge of the events, they appeared at the site to report and investigate Alejandro's disappearance.

It should be noted that during the week there have been various attacks on uniforms in different parts of the state.

  1. Police commander and driving a 86 Ford ranger, that's what's wrong with mexican police, they dont get paid shit even I would be corrupted in someone offered me 20 pesos!
