TJ: One of FBI’s Most Wanted Sinaloa Cartel Member Arrested

Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: Milenio
An American citizen,  José "N", 39, alleged member of the Sinaloa Cartel , was arrested in Tijuana, Baja California , after being one of the most wanted criminals by the FBI for several years.

"His capture was achieved with the help of the National Institute of Migration (INM) in the colony Las Palomas de Rosarito ", explained the coordinator of the International Liaison of the State Preventive Police (PEP), Rodolfo Luna Herrera .

The detainee, who is originally from Los Angeles, California, was wanted by foreign authorities "for a couple of years which is why they requested the support of the PEP because they knew he had crossed the border".

José "N", transported large amounts of cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin from Mexico to the Los Angeles metropolitan area and other US entities.

Luna Herrera explained that according to the FBI investigation "Operation Narconetas", that the criminal organization used vehicles with hidden compartments to move the narcotics.

He went to patrol Benito Juarez Boulevard and Del Roble Street where they approached the subject that fully coincided with the physical characteristics indicated on the card issued by the FBI authorities, the man was immediately stopped and denied the charges but his identity was corroborated by the Control, Command, Communication and Computing Center (C4).

After several years of investigation they were able to determine that he had crossed the border and resided in Playas de Rosarito, in an exclusive subdivision; located in an address in the Las Palomas neighborhood.

The alleged drug trafficker was made available to the immigration authorities for deportation and to be tried according to the laws of the United States.

Excerpt from DOJ Press Release Aug 8, 2018 : Thank to J for the link!!

LOS ANGELES – Capping a three-year investigation by the Los Angeles Strike Force, authorities this morning arrested 20 defendants named in a series of indictments that allege the smuggling of large quantities of narcotics from Mexico on behalf of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Those arrested this morning are among 57 defendants named in three indictments that were unsealed this morning. Two of the defendants were already in state custody and are being turned over today to federal authorities. The remaining 35 defendants are currently fugitives, with most of those believed to be in Mexico at this time.

The investigation – dubbed Operation Narconetas – targeted three drug trafficking organizations that allegedly transported bulk quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin from Mexico to the Los Angeles metropolitan area and other locations across the United States. The investigation revealed that Sinaloa Cartel operatives moved narcotics to the northern reaches of Mexico, and the defendants charged in the indictments transported the drugs into the United States, often using vehicles with hidden compartments. One of the indictments alleges that money generated from illegal drug sales in the United States transported in bulk quantities from the United States into Mexico.

As a result of Operation Narconetas, authorities seized approximately 850 pounds of methamphetamine, nearly one ton of cocaine, 93 pounds of heroin, almost 50 pounds of marijuana, and $1.42 million in United States currency.

    1. 9:55 you beat me to it. Lol. That has to be 006. He probably go caught on purpose, he’ll be then be extradited and get close enough to his true boss to help him break out. I just know it. He’s been leaving little bread crumbs for us to find the entire time.

I don't think the defendants names were ever released, which is unusual.
