Gro: Autodefensas Detain Marines, Block Roads

Armadillo BorderlandBeat From Proceso
CHILPANCINGO, Gro.- Members of the Union of Peoples and Organizations of the State of Guerrero (UPOEG), detained soldiers of the Navy in the municipality of Tecpan de Galeana, located in the region of the Costa Grande.

Armed civilians also blocked the Acapulco-Zihuatanejo highway, near the town of Santa Rosa de Lima, to demand the release of a member of their organization who was previously detained by the military.

The spokesperson for the autodefense group, Víctor Espino Cortés, informed that at 8 o'clock in the morning, marines from the naval sector of Zihuataneja detained a member of the UPOEG when he was in an orchard in the town of Coyuquilla Norte, municipality of Petatlán.

Espino Cortés said that his partner has not been put at the disposal of any authority and they do not know his whereabouts. Therefore, they decided to carry out the road blockade and to retain the sailors who were transporting the truck of the aforementioned armed civilian.

The members of the organization warned that they will not release the marines until they release their comrade.No authority has commented on the incident.

  1. Wow,they really think they have the power to control the government?This is different as it's not about social issues and protest but about 1 particular criminal's NEEDS!Goes to show you how entrenched organized crime truly is especially in this area where the world saw the '43' disappear you would think Mexico would have 'cleaned house' at least in that area if anything because of the international scrutiny.So who REALLY controls the show?

  2. It is needed to know the true purpose of los autodefensas. If they are the pure justice system of the pueblo then it is not the same as vigilancia for a cartel to protect crop of marihuana or poppys. Too many autodefensas look upon growing and selling crops of illegal drugs as justo. This is stupid because it funds terror and injustice. The growers perhaps are protected while others give piso and outrageous coyote pagos. They want to make drugs legal. How will that stop the carteleros from other terror? It would simply increase money. The demand for money has no end.

    1. It clearly shows to you, "do not murder the people" is the order from above, where ths Chayoteros do not count for shit, it is about time the Mexican soldiers and marinas learned to not to be sooo touchy, after all the can come back tonight and finish the job to their exact revenge; patience is something the Mexican armed forces have never had or tried to have. ;;

  5. If only these enforcement methods were used towards government officials. Rather, the presidential palace. Maybe then they will acquire the protection services needed in Mexico.

  6. It's becoming more and more difficult to believe these people are legitimate Autodefensas. I.E.
    A few weeks back BB posted a article about a Autodefensa group in Michoacan holding soldiers hostage till they got a 50 cal and other weapons returned. Turned out they were narcos and not Autodefensas. BB never followed up on the article to correct the misleading headline or fake news.

  7. Did the Navy receive orders to detain the autodefensa boss? If so it has to be, that they don't want autodefensas to exist, in order for killings to continue, and bribe money coming in.

  8. La pinche neta, no police or melitary should be arresting anybody without community approval, signed in front of witnesses and with respect to the property and the person of the suspects, order of arrest would be nice too, pinches melitares just come and terrorize with impunity as if it belongs to them because of their "high status in society", que no mamen guey!

    2. 6:03 it is not up to me, it is up to the citizens,
      and in this case they responded magnificently.
      On top of it, the soldiers seem to be under orders from very high above to hold their fire, and it worked.
