El Sincler subject to prosecution

Cancún, Quintana Roo - The presumed leader of a drug trafficking group, Raúl "N", known as "El Sincler", was linked to a process by a Control Judge, for the crime of homicide, when he was accused of causing the death of an alleged hitman of a rival group in the shooting that was recorded on Wednesday of last week in Region 92.

The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) reported that after several hours of debate with the defense lawyers of the detainee, prosecutors accredited their probable participation in the events that occurred in Region 92.

Thus, a Control Judge linked Raúl "N" to the process of homicide, within the administrative folder 349/2019 and decreed him a year of preventive detention, for which he will continue in the jail in Cancún during the development of the procedure.

The judge also granted a period of three months to the Public Ministry for the closure of the complementary investigation.

El Sincler was injured after being shot in one of his legs, on Wednesday, May 29, when he was confronted with gunfire from alleged hitmen who came to execute him in front of a home in Region 92. He used a pistol, with which he provoked the death of one of the sicarios.

The deceased had an FN P90 rifle. Initial versions indicated that he allegedly served as a bodyguard for a subject known as El Dober, the son of Doña Lety, designated as the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Within the investigations, ministerial agents last Friday searched two homes in the same neighborhood where the shooting occurred. Which was allegedly used as security houses by El Sincler. At the residence the following weapons were found: two rifles (AK-47), known as "Cuerno de Chivo”, grenades, magazines, drugs and approximately three thousand cartridges of different calibers were found.
