Vincente Zambada Sentenced Today

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat

Vicente Zambada receives 15 years, and credit for time served, will be released in three years

Vicente Zambada Niebla stood before the court this morning and speaking to U.S. District Chief Judge Ruben Castillo, he accepted responsibility for “bad decisions” on his part [ noticeably omitting the words his crimes], he apologized.

He added: “Today I feel I can be a better father, a better husband — I feel I can be a better son, and most of all a better human being.”

Further stating how he still has his family, whom he loves and who the most important thing to him is.

The prosecutor in the El Chapo trial, Amanda Liskman stated how the cooperation from Zambada as “extraordinary”.

"His behavior and attitude was always positive," and the court should be aware of this”

Prosecutors had asked for a 17 year sentence, citing his extraordinary cooperation. Zambada’s attorney asked for 12 years and time served.  In the end the court handed him a 15 year sentence, with credit for time served.

A reminder; the Flores twins, who comparisons were drawn to Zambada, received 14 years and time served.

In handing down the sentence, Castillo referred to Chicago aldermen who recently called a colleague a rat for wearing a wire, comparing them to organized crime figures.

In reference to El Chapo Castillo said; “As far as I’m concerned you did not sell out El Chapo,” “I think it went the other way around.”

After years of complaint filings and being a pain in the ass, such as filing a complaint because the prison razors were dull causing him rash, he then decided to cooperate. Not before adamantly saying in 2011 that he and other Sinaloa cartel leaders were granted immunity by U.S. agents and the freedom to smuggle cocaine over the border – in exchange for intelligence about rival cartels. Prosecutors denied the claim, saying DEA agents met with Zambada but never entered into such an agreement.

He and his family were placed in the witness protection program. His wife and children were transported to the U.S. and were allowed to keep one million dollars of seized funds.  It has not been reported how much Zambada will receive when he leaves prison.

During the El Chapo trial Zambada was asked if he ever killed anyone, he says although he was asked countless times he never once killed anyone.

He will live a glamorous life on paper it says they let the wife keep 1 million but who knows how much and how much he has hidden. He got lucky he only got 15. Him and the Flores twins are gonna live it up with money getting off after all the murders and kidnappings and drugs they sold. God bless America

    17. Why would you presume that 11:21? Because I am Mexican?

My type, intelligent, educated, well read, humorous, successful, caring, thoughtful and well traveled.

As for looks, it lost its importance after I turned 20 or so. But my husband is a head turner. That can be a two edge sword.

    18. Chivis your description of a man is what I find attractive in a woman. The pleasures of an intellectual conversation and self supportive.
      Now that's PRICELESS.
Nevertheless, a head turner is an added bonus.
Lets not forget; Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

For the record, I fit everything you said except well traveled and successful, I'm working on it.

    23. 9:18 No worries and no apology needed--I was simply confused as to why anyone could say that. I don"t recall saying 40 was handsome, although I may have, as he was in his youth--but Lazca I thought was. Only Mamito held on to his looks. But looks fade and is not a indicator of how to judge someone, it is what is there aside from the looks, that counts. ❤

  4. This dude gonna take over the whole organization. If he stays low key and I mean low key they will have to gather new evidence against him to try him in court. This will end the day Mexico as a people find something more profitable. Remember that the Americans taking money don’t have families in ethnic neighborhoods in America’s inner cities. The war on drugs was, is and will always be a money making operation for all parties involved. Remember it’s 2019 not 1996 when the narcos were only know to locals and the top government puerco$$.

  15. This all seems to be planned. Its wierd how once El Chapo got caught and extradited all these sinaloa capos put all the blame on chapo and the US desperate for a major win is more than willing to cut a deal with people that arguably have caused their fair share of misery if not more compared to El Chapo.
Its all one Big Show El Chapo gets all blame put on him while his associates get a shorter sentence and will be released in a few years.
Im not trying to be dick rider like all these other wannabes that comment but after observing this mess from start to finish it just seems weird how it all played out.
