One of the alleged perpetrators of the October 2018 ambush against police of the Secretariat of Security of the State of Mexico in the municipality of Almoloya de Alquisiras was arrested.  He , together with seven other subjects linked to drug trafficking, ambushed and murdered 4 police and captured the killings on video.

This subject identified as Edgar "N", alias "El Largo" or "El Grande", 24 years old, was a priority objective, since his participation in several criminal events was accredited.

The arrest occurred as a result of an investigation jointly with the Army.  The arrest was conducted at an address in the town of La Unión, municipality of Tlatlaya.

This subject could also be related to the murder of the director of Public Security of Texcaltitlán , Juan Hernández García who was found dead on June 22.

"El Largo" or "El Grande", is presumed member of La Familia Michoacana. In a confession video, he explained that the ambush of the police was ordered by the leader of said criminal group in the area, a man named José Damaso, alias "El 47" and who is also one of the most wanted by authorities of the State of Mexico.

The ambush video released to social media networks, depicted a group of young men carrying high-caliber weapons, who were observed waiting on some rocks in the mountains and boasting about the killings they would commit a few minutes later against a police patrol drove by.

  2. La familia is notorious for killing police. Specifically in michoacan, they just caught a guy who used to work for la familia but switched to cjng. He killed more than a dozen federal cops

  6. "What a surprise" the most disputed turfs in Mexico are also the most important geopolitically for the Mexican economy: the seaports of Michoacán (in the Pacific) and Veracruz (in the Atlantic). And also the American entry-points, in the Pacific: California (Tijuana) and the Atlantic: Texas (From Juarez, Chihuahua to Matamoros, Tamaulipas).
